Protected by His Blood!

Do you believe that if you were to stay in your own house during a bad storm, your are protected by the Blood of Jesus.

As in the OT, where the Jews painted a strip of lamb's blood across the top of their door, stayed inside and were saved by G-d.

I was at a converence last fall and a woman who was known for her G-DLY Wisdom, told me not to go to anyone else's home during a storm or what ever.

So I thought this would be a good question to ask.

Anecdotally, many God-fearing believers or missionaries have suffered loss of property and/or life in their houses in a storm.

The blood on the doors was a specific historical context in Egypt dealing with God's judgment and then "Passover" blessing. It is bad Bible interpretation and application to generalize it to a storm immunity principle for all believers in all ages. This may be presumption and not faith (like drinking poison and playing with snakes). God can and does protect us at times, but we still live in a fallen world and can be subject to accidents and weather disasters.

If the conference person's idea is right, perhaps the believer and not the house has immunity. Maybe we should go to unbeliever's houses in a storm to protect them so they can see the power of God and get swept into the Kingdom?!

I get a little nervous around people who take unecessary chances with their well being.  God blessed us with commen sense :thumb:   He gave us charge over our bodies and I don't think we should purposely put ourselves in the path of danger.

example----last winter there was a terrible snow storm...not a whole lot of accumulation just alot of blowing and icy roads there were white out conditions it was nasty.....the family and I did not go to church that night we didn't feel it was safe enough to take ourselves and our children out in dangerous conditions....now there were some at the church that went because they said that God would protect them and yes they got there and home alright with the extra hour added for each way there....but me and my family stayed home and prayed....

In todays world commen sense is not used enough I say

Does this mean that I don't have enough faith?  I don't think so I feel very secure in my faith and will continue to avoid dangerous situations not run full steam into them.

It doesn't matter where you are.. you are always protected by the Blood of Jesus,even in a heathen home...

Of course its stupidity to place yourself in dangerous situations!! God has also given us a sound mind.
