Anyone with similar problems have any advice on dealing with it? Other than the usual; I know the statistics, but there's always SOME chance of it happening and that's what bugs me. Usually when I'm nervous I seek out people, being with people helps me a lot but I can't get that with this flight, so I need to figure out how to deal, last time I went alone certainly was no picnic... My biggest fears are on take offs and landings. Turbulence can get scary. Even more so when you can see the wings outside the windows. But I pray, and that does seem to settle me down quite a bit. I also convince myself God still has a plan for me, so I am able to sleep soundly, with classical music in my ears, even with turbulences. But you are right, it can be scary

Really...just relax. I fly all the time; several times a month, usually alone, sometimes with my husband. You know, the plane always lands, usually late, but always lands with or without my husband being aboard.

I'd rather carry a plane than have a plane carry me. I told everybody that next time I fly, they have to dart me like Rhino first!!!

I'd recommend bringing something to read. If you're nervous, you can be reading from the time you sit down on your seat to the moment your plane stops at the destination gate.
