I never had a problem with being nervous when I was flying with someone I knew, but when flying alone I find that I am nervous and jumpy at every bit of turbulence. Anyone with similar problems have any advice on dealing with it? Other than the usual; I know the statistics, but there's always SOME chance of it happening and that's what bugs me. Usually when I'm nervous I seek out people, being with people helps me a lot but I can't get that with this flight, so I need to figure out how to deal, last time I went alone certainly was no picnic...

I pray when I fly. My biggest fears are on take offs and landings. Turbulence can get scary. Even more so when you can see the wings outside the windows. But I pray, and that does seem to settle me down quite a bit.

Everytime I travel by plane, I normally fly alone...but I always pray and God to protect me and everyone else who is travelling and to take hold of my fears. I also convince myself God still has a plan for me, so I am able to sleep soundly, with classical music in my ears, even with turbulences. But you are right, it can be scary :whistling:

How can you be alone on a plane with so many people?

Really...just relax. I fly all the time; several times a month, usually alone, sometimes with my husband. You know, the plane always lands, usually late, but always lands with or without my husband being aboard.

Since a couple of pretty dicey landings at Mildenhall I feel the same way! I'd rather carry a plane than have a plane carry me.

I told everybody that next time I fly, they have to dart me like Rhino first!!!

I fly alone most of the time - it's quite a hike from home to college, so I go by air. I'd recommend bringing something to read. If you're nervous, you can be reading from the time you sit down on your seat to the moment your plane stops at the destination gate.
