Unfortunately it will take nuclear and/or chemical terrorist attacks before people will wake up and realize that the libertarian viewpoints towards individual freedoms will not work at all, and that the government will have to take drastic measures to assure the survival of the country.

Any and every thread I put up or reply to can, in NO WAY, be termed a "conspiracy theory", and this particular NEWS item - that is NOT "conspiracy" item - most certainly cannot be termed that either.

Think about it! The definition of the word "theory" is just what it says, a "theory" not a "fact", this is all about "fact", i.e. "Hardline anti-terror laws are to be proposed by Gordon Brown". If this was just a "conspiracy theory" it might not necessarily be true. However, you can check the veracity of it yourself by ringing up to Gordon Brown's office.

And How (now this one really puzzles me) do you see this as "knocking Britain, with a bit of America bashing thrown in now and then..."? Gordon Brown is the one bashing Britain, not me! I merely copied the facts here for you to see. I would consider it being lax if I didn't. If by UK and US knocking, you are referring to my nonsense talk in "fellowship Hall" you have to realise that this is all "tongue in cheek". I'm drawing attention to all the "draconian" things happening in UK at the present time because I know that they will soon follow us here. It is only a matter of time before some moron in our government says something daft like "they take everyone's DNA in UK and no one minds, so we'll do it here as well". An e.g. is that only a few days ago I was reading about the proposal in UK to "stop and demand ID", then I read that our cretinous minister of justice wants this done here too. Have you read the quote by Rev. Martin Neimoller that begins "they came for the communists, but I didn't stand up because I wasn't a communist", and ends with "the came for the Jews but I didn't stand up because I wasn't a Jew, and then when they came for me there was no one left to stand up for me"? That sums up my attitude.

The gov't of NZ is by no means perfect, it is evil, arrogant and dishonest. And I sure would have a go at them if I thought anyone would be interested, but seeing as - fortunately - they will not have an impact on the rest of the world, nobody would be interested. Gee if I was to go on about the NZ government I could write pages and pages, but I confine that to writing letters to government departments and MPs - mainly because I believe that everybody should question everything, and making submissions to parliament (which is basically a waste of time, but I have to at least try to do something).

How, having said all that, if you still believe that I am espousing "conspiracy theories" and violating the rules, you have no choice but to "report" me. Gone on.......

hmh I can't agree with that. I think we should always keep the libertarian viewpoint towards individual freedoms or I have to question whether or not it is worth assuring the survival of the country. OK, we might be alive, but we'd be living under a draconian government or a police state.

As the old quote goes (sorry, can't remember who said it) "It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees".

I do however find it very frustrating and annoying that your posts ( and there are many ) only ever show what some newspaper is claiming and ALWAYS the worst case scenario ....do you not know that every newspaper has some political affiliation and they only print things that will sell their paper ..Good news doesn't sell only alarmist and doomsday attitudes sell papers. I am so very aware that our government is wrong ( in my opinion ) in soooooo many ways and yes we in Britain DO protest and complain about SOME of the things "they" propose in the name of security/progress etc BUT we do live in a society that has more people than it has ever had before and more importantly more people moving around the world and being influenced by things like the internet and newspapers without any real idea of the truth and I have had to deal with a great deal of alarmist and phobic behavior in very young children mainly brought about by articles such as those that you constantly post. They read it in the paper therefore it MUST be true .....if you had a more "balanced" posting record showing the good as well as the bad then I wouldnt feel you were so negative but lets be honest if you keep saying we are living in such a terrible society then sooner or later people begin to belief it and then hatred and fear and distrust very quickly set in to the detriment of all.

There has already been a thread ( in fellowship hall ) from someone who was thinking of coming to Britain who has heard nothing but negative reports and was in fear of finding a Godless society everywhere

BALANCE is needed in all things ...including newspaper reports but unfortunately that doesn't sell

as a sister I love you as a poster I am beginning to get the " here we go again " feeling and as you should know by now if I feel I have to say something then I will NOT say it behind someones back but "to their face".

Statewatch is another good organisation for information about things like DNA databases, surveillance cameras and draconian legislation in the UK.
