 I do not mean to be controversail, and do not wish to be disrespectful to those of you who type G-d. And I hope that this is the right forum for me to ask these questions.

But whats the deal ???

Did I miss a posting about it ???

Why not use the whole word God instead ???

Also what scriptural basis is there for doing so???

Or is this taking the commandments which say. You must not take the Name of God Invain. To mean you must not use God's Name at all.

Even if so,, I thought the word for God, EL or Elohim was more of a title. And that YaHWeH OR Jehovah is the actual name of God....

And since I am on the subject, as I have read the Bible what I observe is that God wants us to use His name, and to know His name, and to praise His name, and to honor His name, and to proclaim His name.

But how can this be done if one wont even use His name ??? ;):)

You're not taking God's name in vain if you spell God with an "o" in the middle. It makes no sense other than people expressing reverence for God. There are many other ways to express reverence, respect and fear for God. There ARE people here who do this.

Actually the Bible itself does do something like this...

Every time you see the word LORD in all capital letters it is being substituted for the tetragrammaton (4 letter name of God) - YHVH

Throughout history, jews never said that name. Only the High Priest would say it and then only on Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). Over the centuries the exact pronunciation was lost because of it

Some say it is Jehovah, some say it is Yahweh, but I doubt anyone knows it at all.

But for millennia, jews would say either "Adonai" (Lord) or "HaShem"(The Name) instead of pronouncing YHVH

Many times it is the difficult, painful situations in our lives that

motivate us to turn to God for relief. I know this isn't how we would

like it to be, but the truth is that we learn and grow, not in times of

peace and prosperity, but in times of trials.

"In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if

necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof

of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even

though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and

honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ" (1Peter 1:6-7).

The Lord wants to draw you into a deeper relationship with Himself

today. He is calling you to seek Him so that He can reveal deep things to

you as you cry out to Him (Psalm 42:7).

Trials are God's way of refining us, so that we learn to trust Him,

regardless of our circumstances. It is in painful and difficult times that

we can come to the place where "we know that we know that we know" that

He is faithful and will bring us through.

However, the enemy wants our trials to leave us feeling weak,

resentful, and hurt. To avoid this, we MUST keep our eyes on the Lord: "The

Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am

helped; therefore my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him" (Psalm

28:7).

We want to pray with you for the Lord to heal you of anything that may

be hindering you from moving forward in your relationship with the

Lord:

"Heavenly Father, we lift your child to You and ask You to heal

anything in their inner being that may be wounded or hurt by circumstances,

by others, and even situations that You allowed to come to pass in order

for them to grow. Let Your healing balm flow over them right now. Lift

their spirits, and let them feel a new presence of Your joy. Give them

Your courage and strength to cry out for the deep things of You. In

Jesus' Name, Amen."

We encourage you to start praising the Lord right now! Be thankful for

everything that is going on in your life, and even those things that

are NOT going on in your life. God is in control, and He will demonstrate

His faithfulness to you in His time!

God Bless You,

Amen. and thanks be to God, the giver of every good and perfect gift, may our love for Him grow to an indefinite lasting love one that over shadows all other things pure and complete,, Yes Amen, In the name of His Most Beloved Son Jesus, Amen.....

And may God Bless You, Shanee ;)

Hello yod

Thank you for this information, some of it I knew, but yod is it not true that the reason why the tetragrammaton or any original Hebrew word or name did not use vowels was because original Hebrew only used constants, thus YHVH for Yahweh also I also know that many Jews alive during the time that the Old Testament covered used Gods name in naming their sons.

case in point Elijah or even Isaiah and so on and so fourth.

Also yod God Himself said to Mosses as recored at Exodus in regauds to His great and Holy name, Chap 3 vers 15 This is what you are to say to the sons of Israel, Yahweh the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name to time indefinite, and this is the memorial of me to generation after generation....

God also says that the very reason He even allowed Pharaoh to live was so that God's Power and His Name would be declared in all the earth as is clearly shown at Exodus Chap 9 vers 16....

So yod,, as I observe, it seems to me that God wants His name to be known. but He just does not want us to use it invain, but that does not seem to me to mean that He did not want us to use His name when worshiping Him and praising Him and declaring Him to the world.... ;)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
