Why is sharing a scientific argument with an atheist somehow bad? Are you sure it isn't just sharing intellectual honesty? Why does something completely free of religious dogmas (despite your attempts to add it, somehow) somehow have religious implications? Perhaps the fact that you seem to share a lot with ancient Greek polytheists in the belief that Christ is some type of God-man (which, for the record, I believe is abundantly proven in Scripture and I hold fast to this belief) makes you one step away from an ancient Greek polytheist? Seriously, guilt by association doesn't work when the association is not even of the nature of the belief structure. Only you seem to be making the "literal" interpretation of the Judeo-Christian creation accounts (or at least one of them) a virtual necessity of salvation. How does sharing a belief with someone make them the same in all ways? Perhaps because you (I would assume, anyway) vote a conservative ticket, you automatically share the religious views of the atheist conservative? Or, perhaps, because you believe (selectively, at least) in the laws of mathematics, you are equal in belief with the atheist math professor at the local university?

Do you think a Christian should share a godless worldview (Darwinism) with atheists? Or do you somehow not think Darwinism is godless?

so any supernatural intervention needed to force the atoms to behave in an unnatural manner MUST have taken place in the past and then STOPPED, allowing the natural process to continue as it does today.

That's the problem with theistic evolution: It doesn't know where to fit Genesis within its accepted speculation about origins. The easiest shortcut? Allegorize Genesis! And get the best of both worlds at once: Christian Salvation and scientific gratification. The supernatural intervention you're speaking of is more than just intervention - a term that implies interference with an ongoing process. God created the universe and all its inhabitants out of nothing in the span of six solar days. He has neither surrendered His Authorship and continuous Rulership of Creation to anything else than His Own Will and Purpose. Nothing about His handling of Creation has ever stopped.

the jews could have been the Chosen People because their DNA was closest to the set God wanted to make Jesus with.hence the focus on breeding.

You employed a speculative 'could' (in bold above.) I think the issue was more practical than your purported biological superiority. Mixing carried the dangers of religious contamination and extermination of the culture from which the Messiah would come.

...And I would counter that the problem with 6-day creationists is that they can't spot an allegory when it is staring them in the face.

The Lord has given us endless clues to his allegory. Still not enough for some, though.

the only thing staring me in the face is your ongoing mockery of God...dangerous stuff!

Ted gave you a warning--remember it.

this isn't Daniel or Revelation, allegory is always clear from the context

What kind of context would you expect for Genesis to have as an allegory?

There are several reasons why Genesis was presented as an allegory, and a pervasive one. Here's a rather intuitive reason: people of the day had no way of comprehending a universe 14 billion years old. (Billions?!) There was the additional risk people of the time would, as a kneejerk reaction to something so outlandish, simply reject the whole message of Genesis and of God. Luckily, despite all its intellectual ramifications, the age of the Earth is not terribly important to our spiritual redemption, and allegory sufficed. It was the only thing people of the time could accept. Fortunately for us modern folk the Lord left us a number of clues to unlock the allegory, clues some of us have accepted and others have yet to accept.

Six Days And A Holy Day Of Rest.

Allegory?

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Oh My! The Lord Of The Sabbath. The Lord Jesus Christ

For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Jesus The Creator Of Genesis One.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
