forrest, your a smart man I read your post, whats not to get, the government needs to quit sending money to other countries and spend it on the people who actually supply it to them, namely the Americdan people. I don't care where the Pakistanis send their kids, when there are Americans that have to work 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet. Whats so hard to understand about that???? If our government feels the need to use MY money for charitable aid, then Americans should get that aid. Not Pakistanis, or illegal aliens..........Americans. How many single family homes, or elderly people could be helped with the billions of dollars that our government throw to everybody but its own people??? But, the government doesn't stop there, OH NO, now we are supposed to give them more money so they can give health care to "children" most of whom are illegals or their parents are..........no, to put it quite bluntly, I don't care, they are not my problem, I didn't beg and steal (as illegals do) to take care of my family I WORKED for everything we had. So should they. And the point about me working was I paid my medical bills and yes they are HUGE.

I have to agree, SP. At my company, which has 75% Mexican born workers, only a tiny fraction elect the Blue Cross the company offers. At least two have been caught on Medicaid while both parents were working and made to repay the state. A large part of the uninsured are, indeed, illegals who work here and bilk the system for Medicaid and most of the visits to emergency rooms for nonemergency reasons are made by foreign nationals. At least here in Houston. This is not my opinion, these are facts from my company's HR dept. and local hospitals. It's an open secret that the welfare offices are staffed by, you guessed it, almost entirely Hispanic workers who then help their compadres to obtain Medicaid, food stamps, etc. even while working. Everyone knows this and yes, it has been reported. Our government doesn't need more of our money to pay for CHIPS; it needs to manage the current budget by screening out those who have NO right to benefits. Remember, this same government wants to extend SS to foreign nationals while telling us that the system will go broke in a few years. So....the answer to that problem is loading another 20 million people on to the system???? No, government has no business in health care. They can't seem to run Washington D.C. so I say...hands off our lives!

Yep glory I hear ya, I have to drive past the welfare office everyday coming to and leaving work and when I go out for lunch, 100 people standing outside and 90 to 95 percent of them are.....................hispanic. But my daughter-in-law who is raising 2 kids by herself and working full time and picking up any odd jobs she can, can't get a lick of help. Thank God she has lots of family that are willing to keep her kids and help out, or I don't know what she would do. How much more of her money does she need to give, to live up to the "morality" of taking care of loafers and theives. And before you ask, my son can't help her being "dead" and all.

I just watched Glenn Beck on CNN and discovered some interesting information.

I'm going by memory but I'll try and get the transcript for you.

It seems the breakdown numbers for the uninsured people in America isn't being reported completely.

MOST of the uninsured are ILLEGALS

followed by Americans who make over 70,000 a year

followed by Americans who make over 50,000 a year

(hardly poverty)

followed by college age students in between insurance policies.

(just left parents policy and yet to get their own)

I'll get the exact numbers asap.

I am not sure where he is getting his data. If you actually want to see the data from the U.S. Census, then here is a good source.

http://covertheuninsured.org/factsheets/di...FactSheetID=123

http://covertheuninsured.org/factsheets/di...FactSheetID=108

You will find that illegal aliens do not make up the majority of the uninsured. That in fact, the majority of uninsured are the working poor, the lower middle class, children, and young adults.

Well, come to find out that this information was gathered from the US census bureau.

Well I feel like I'm "standing" on my head.....................................I and thousands like me, aren't stastics, and polls. But evidenly the unknown, unwashed masses matter more to the liberal set. Gee, forrest thanks....I can feel the love. Your entire stance is built on helping everybody, except the people that are actually paying for it.

I was really kinda thinking about not voting this time around as there isn't anybody I feel good about voting for, but, now I think I will, and it will be a Republican, if this is how most of the Dems look at things.

I must not be doing a good job of conveying myself. Our healthcare system is not failing the impoverished they have Medicaid. Its not failing the rich either, they can afford the best healthcare available. Our healthcare system is failing the Middle Class. The single biggest cause of bankruptcy filings in this country is medical debt. State Children Health Insurance Programs are designed to provide health insurance for children whose parents earn to much to qualify for Medicaid, are not covered by a company plan (or their company plan is to expensive for them to afford), and don

Well I'll agree forrest, but evidently its me that isn't making myself clear

I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR INSURANCE FOR ANYBODY ELSE. thats, as clear as I know how make it.

If those family's making 44k a year didn't have to have a big home, and 2 cars and all the electronic devices known to man, and their kids didn't have to wear designer clothes and have a playstation3, and an xbox and all of those "extras" they could take care of themselves. I did, on much less than that, with 3 kids and 1 that cost me mega bucks for medical care. Or if we just have to have a national health care program, ONLY American citizens are allowed to be on it.

That is stereotypical though. Most of the working poor don't live in a big home, don't have 2 cars, don't deck themselves out in designer clothes, and don't have a house full of electronics. I don't think we should provide for those unwilling to work, or who make repeated bad choices. However, I also do not think that children should go without health coverage simply because of their parents bad choices or inability to provide health coverage for them.

Since everyone else is getting blatantly partisan, I am going to do so as well. It is a question of priorities really. To the Bush Administration and most conservative Republicans, giving a massive tax cut in the form of estate tax elimination, a tax that only affects the most wealthy families in America, is morally important, but providing health coverage to every child in American isn

forrest, believe it or not, I agree with alot of what you just said, but that still doesn't change the facts of what I just said either. 44k a year isn't chump change, and I live, work and am friends with mostly people in that income bracket and YES they do have all of those things I mentioned. They are almost all living way above their means, one bad thing and their house of cards is gonna fold up on them. All of us and our government need to learn to live and operate within our monetary means.

But I notice you still keep ignoring the "illegal alien" part to any thing anybody has posted. STOP paying anything for them and there is some extra money to pay for insurance for American children, familys & seniors that need it.

I don't disagree with you. However, I will say that raising a family on 44k a year in most cities with the cost of living being what it is would be very difficult.

Well that would explain my sometimes 2 or 3 jobs! :noidea:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
