Hello all,

I am taking a Leadership Development class right now. We are studying the importance of leaders having a healthy family, and what consitutes a healthy family unit. What roles should everyone play, and why is it so important for leadership? This can be from any stand point in the family - as the husband, wife, child, grandparent etc.

I am curious as to your views. If you have a few moments to answer, I'd be grateful!

Thank you and bless you,

Willow

many churches do not want to place anyone in a leadership role, that does not have a proven homelife with Christ......

why???

because what people see on the outside, usually reflects what is on the inside.....

meaning, what people see about you during the week, at the mall, in the movie lines, at the grocery store, where ever you are at, if they see you walking the walk, rather then just talking the talk..... you life is more of a wittness to Christ, or against Christ much more then any words you can ever say......

a person may be the biggest name on the Christian Hit List for music, but if their life dont match........ a person maybe the most popular person in the church, but if their home life is in shambles........

where do I get this from???? well, like this..... if we can not be faithful in the little things, how are we expected to be faithful in the larger things.......

if a person can not handle his (or her ) own two children, how are they going to be able to handle many other children in the church????

if a man can not properly serve his wife, in Christ, how is he going to be able to serve the people of the congregation???

if a woman can not serve her husband in the way Christ wants her to, then how can she be used as a servant to the rest of the world???

if a person, can not keep a balanced check book ( writing hot checks ) how can they be expected to be able to keep the churches funds straight????

what people see of us in the home, at the store, in the yard, is more of a witnes and is a reflection of how we really are, not how we dress on sunday morning, not how we talk in sunday school, but every thing we do during the week......

if a plumber only does a half way job, and leaves a mess when he is done, and even thou he charges less then the rest, this is a reflection on his life with Christ..... if he charges more but does a complete job, that also is a reflection on his life with Christ.... the same with a carpenter, if he puts on a new roof, and it leaks, and he igmores the call from the customer, that is a reflection on his walk with the Lord, or if he returns the call and stands behind his work, that also is his wittness to the Lord.....

if we back up what we say with action, that is a reflection of our home life and our walk with tthe Lord....

if a man has an unruley child, why???? did he spare the rod too many times???? if he can not teach discipline at home, how can he teach it at church???

Dear Willow,

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but it was from a post I made regarding the "lost" order of families, amidst the current societal trend of living together. It has corroded the foundational family order intended by God.

Dear Patsy,

I think I am sad..........

I am deeply troubled that our family order (God implemented), has self-destructed.  If you read in Scripture, there was a perfect order ordained by God for everything, but especially for the church body and the family body.

We have lost our heads!  There is no order in either, (for the most part).  Man and woman were to come together in marriage for a very distinct purpose in God's eyes, but we have taken it upon ourselves to superimpose our own order now, and that includes the order of the family body.  Our children are confused!  They do not understand commitment and the Oneness of the marriage covenant, and adultery, is the in thing now.  Whether we want to admit it or not, we have now become a nation of fornication by majority.  To live with another person, and not be married, is a work of the flesh, not the spirit.

I see how many problems this causes for the children, who have no say so in the matter, yet will reap a harvest of unrighteousness from this practice.  They are being taught that the sanctity of marriage is no longer valid, and will continue the legacy.  I am distraught over this.  Marriage was to be a covenant, but we decided we didn't like that order ordained by God, so we think we'll go around it, and just not get married.  It doesn't work, it causes us as a nation to jump from bed to bed and relationship to relationship.  It is damaging to our children.

I was guilty of this tragic sin!  I now have a grown son who is reaping the fruit of that example I gave him.  I am heartbroken, and truly repentant of that time in my life.....and yet I wonder?  Why did no one say anything to me?  Why did my parents not tell me the truth about what this would do to my child?  I have been forgiven by my Savior, because I truly, remorsefully, repented, but that does not change the seed I planted, it must still come up, and I must still watch it.  I pray for us to wake up and speak the Truth in love to those around us.  That this cycle might be broken!

John 4:15 The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw."  16

Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."

She was not satisfied in her life, yet she had had many husbands.  Neither are we.  We have had many supposed husbands/wives, that were not really.  Jesus wants us to be satisfied through His Ways, His commands, so that we may not thirst.  There was a reason this woman was continually thirsting, and there was a reason that Jesus brought the "husband/marriage" factor into this story.

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

This is of the Spirit, not of the flesh.  To marry and live with the one that God has intended for us, to acknowledge this sanctity of marriage.

In His Love,

Suzanne

To destroy the order of families, is to destroy the very fabric of society. Once the family loses it's head, so does everything else, because the order is out of whack. The first order of things is God/Christ/Husband/Wife/Child. When that order becomes fractured, the whole of a nation does too. We have missed the mark in all the areas above. God is not revered, Christ is not revered, Husband/Father is not respected, Wife/Mother is not cherished. Children become out of control. The balance God implemented is off, due to the disobedience of the people, therefore the nation will suffer the outcome. You could do a whole study of each person being out of kilter. Men don't lead, women do, children do. All wrong. It is not according to the ranking that God ordained. A family is much like an army. It was established with a certain order/chain of command. If the footmen begin having authority over the captains, then you have a very inneffective army unit. It is weakened greatly.

In His Love,

Suzanne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
