Why should she? She has been forced to pay for it over the years. At the same time, it would have been better if the program was never created.

Yes, but you do realize that most people actually use a lot more in terms of Medicare benefits than they paid in. So, if one is so against any kind of "Socialism" and everything Democrats do, then you would think they would refuse Medicare out of principle. After all, the private sector does everything better than the public sector can, so certainly insurance for a retired individual in the private sector would be cheaper than Medicare right? :emot-hug:

This is the year 2007. There has been no government program to pay for health insurance in the history of America, so what have we done up till now? How in the world did we ever survive without socialized medicine? With liberals, it is one made up crisis after another.

Actually, with liberals, they don't just look at nearly 50 million uninsured and think "well I aint uninsured so why should I care", instead they think "as a nation, we can do better".

No they wouldn't. They would take everything they could get back from the government since they were forced to pay all that money out of pocket over the years. Even if someone gets more back in that program, they paid into other worthless programs over the years, so I think they should get back all they can.

So otherwise, big government and socialism is bad, unless it benefits you personally.

So what's your plan? What do you do with people who can't afford health care?

Charity will not work.

Why won't charity work? If people didn't have such a huge chunk taken out of their checks to be redistributed, they would have a lot more to give to charity.

Why not do it the way Jesus said to? Are you saying His way wouldn't work?

You don't have to enroll in Medicare and pay the monthly premiums, you can always go out and get a policy in the private sector, if socialism is so bad, why not do it out of principle?

Charity is a tax deduction already. Jesus never said that a democratic society could not choose to create programs that benefit everyone. We do not live under a dictatorship. If we have a program to help the poor and needy in America, its because the majority of Americans want it. If they didn't we would not have it.

So you're saying people are so generous as to donate enough money to provide health care to everyone that needs it?

His way would work if people were willing to give money.

"If people didn't have such a huge chunk taken out of their checks to be redistributed, they would have a lot more to give to charity."

- Yea...because people are just so charitable these days.

The way I look at it, they stole from me the entire time I worked, so if I can get back some of the money they stole, I will do so.

The government never paved a road for you? You never went to a park? You never had a FHA mortgage? Did you ever support a war? How was that paid for?

I just did a quote for equivalent Medical Insurance coverage to Medicare for a perfectly healthy 62 year old non-smoker. The best quote, for age 62, was 508 dollars a month for equivalent coverage to Medicare. Of course, the older you get, the more expensive it is, and if you have any health problems, it goes way up. At age 72, it would easily be twice that. Thats just for one individual. You and your wife would be a lot more together.

So if we did away with Medicare, do you think you can swing that kind of an insurance payment once you retire? Say your 70 with a history of heart disease, what do you figure insurance would be through the private sector, a couple of grand a month if you are lucky. Think you could swing that?

People that think they could do better than Medicare are living in a dream world. Without Medicare most people could not even afford health insurance once the retired. Their first heart attack would result in them going bankrupt. What a way to meet your golden years.

Well, it would help if we got the government out of health care entirely, so costs could come down. You'd be surprised how generous people would be, if they could be.

Again, would doing it the way Jesus said not work?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
