Is not the church for those who are "sick" and in need of help? If those who are mature go OUT and preach the message Jesus preached while on this earth, maybe the "city" would not be as sick as it is today...

Church is not about sitting in your Sunday's finest, shiniest car in the parking lot, best said statement, best show on the altar.....It's about reaching out to those who are lost.

If a gay man or woman walked into your church, would you kick them out? Would you preached them right out the door? Or would you love them enough so that the LIGHT of JESUS CHRIST shined so through YOU that --that is what made the difference for that gay man or woman to change their sinful life style...

The problem here isn't that it's a gay person or two in church... it's a church gladly giving in to its sin.

Thanks for the links. Marn. Reading their "love story" was nauseating, wasn't it?

Yep. I was so angry and grieved in my spirit when I read that, I actually cried.

Why in the world would Tammy faye choose to have this church do her service? She must have agreed with their doctrine.

lol Yes, I agree.

My purpose in posting this lurid story, which is now of no value since the links were removed, was to point out the sorry state of the Church in America and our "Christian icons," who see no problem with supporting such an abomination.

I didn't mean to jump down your throat, forrest. It's been a frustrating day business-wise.

I am so used to you disagreeing with me that I did not recognize when you actually agreed with me. :taped:

I have mixed feelings about "Gay Churches", I certainly recognize that being an openly gay pastor is unbiblical, but I also see where gays and lesbians have been demonized and used as a political whipping post by many in the religious right in this country too, so I think that many of them do genuinely want a relationship with God and want to be part of a community of believers and for them, and thus from their perspective a gay church is their only option.

Many times on this forum gays and lesbians have been compared to pedophiles and those who engage in bestiality. If someone were gay or lesbian, what would you have them to do? Go to churches where members compare them to child rapists? Somewhere between churches comparing gays and lesbians to child rapists on one extreme and churches that have openly gay pastors on the other, is that level of common decency and humanity that could be a spiritual home and community for gays and lesbians in this country. Unfortunately, there are not a whole lot of churches in some parts of the country like that, so the only option for gays and lesbians is to join or form a church just for them.

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." (Romans 1:26-27)

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them." (Ephesians 5:11)

My biggest complaint is, why do we rebuke and revile the gay man and look the other way for a man/member who is/has been caught cheating on his wife, OR left his wife for another woman. How about the deacon who is caught with the prostitute? These we will look the other way, or comfort HIM, rather than break fellowship??? Why? What is the difference?

Shouldn't the truth be told to BOTH men?

In His Love,

Suzanne

Amen, Suzanne! I agree with that 100%. We need to not just look away, or brush those sins under the rug.

Ephesians 5:11 suits those situations as well...

Just to point out here in a "stonger" sense...

Being gay is no more a sin than stealing a cookie from the store...Sin is sin...

The church has labled it a bigger sin, because it's a sin against the body.....

It is more open than if one sneaks and steals a cookie...When being gay was behind closed doors, these issues were not discussed like this...

Some sins are more serious than others. In Corinthians, Paul taught that the church should disfellowship with someone committing adultery and incest. He told them to turn the guilty party over to Satan for the destruction of the body, that hopefully the soul would be saved in the end. I doubt that would have been his advise for someone found to have stolen a cookie. This idea that all sins are equal is not found in the Bible. As a matter of fact, the Bible mentions a distinction between sins unto death and ones that are not unto death. That alone shows all sins are not equal.

Again, I believe it is being over looked that the judgment by God is what varies in the degree department...

Actually you are quite in error. According to Ephesians, the Church is for believers. At any rate, the gay church (Open Door Community Church), whose website may be found by Googling for it, is as far from G-d as one can get. It is a stench and abomination in G-d's nostrils, and those participating in it will be judged harshly for leading so many astray.

Can you please post the particular scripture in Ephesians you are referring to? Thanks...

I don't know about the church you posted...I am not a gay individual, but one of my friends is openly gay...If I was to push him out of my life because I am a woman who is married, and a believer, the LOVE of Christ is not shining through me...Where I draw the line is that I do not particpate in his life, lifestyle...When I talk to him, it is about the love of Christ...If that makes me a person who is pushed out of fellowship by you or anyone else, then your church is not one I would attend, because it lacks the love of Christ...

Those who choose to continue in their sin, will be judged by GOD...But then again we are all sinners...

John 19:11

Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin." What do you think that was and why was it greater?

My answer....It was those who turned over Jesus because they did not believe in who HE was...Their disbelief was what was greater and because of this, their judgment will of course be harshier...

The judgment of Sodom was harshier because it refused to come up out of her sin...

As with anyone who refuses to come up out of her sin...

We see that judgment in the gay community, they are being judged harshly and now have a plague on them, AIDS...

Our eyes should remain on HIM and not the sins of others....NOT one is without sin...If you say you are the bible says you are a liar...

have you shared the truth with him, that his lifestyle is sinful and will keep him eternally separated from God if he doesn't repent? if you have, then a big thumbs up. (friends don't let friends drive drunk....) if you haven't, is it because you are afraid you will be perceived as judgmental?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
