But if an Auckland radio station gets its way, one woman will soon headdown the aisle to marry one of two "perfect men" waiting to become her husband. The Edge breakfast hosts Jay Jay Feeney, Mike Puru and Dominic Harvey will tomorrow start a nationwide search for a bride who's ready to get hitched to a bloke she's never met before. But unlike the first two made-in-radio arranged marriages this year's bride-to-be will begin an on-air quest for "two perfect men", who will pass through a rigorous vetting process by the station and, most importantly, the people who know her best: her family and friends. She'll be able to choose her life partner only on her wedding day when she gives the nod to one of two grooms waiting for her at the altar. The promotion, 3 Strangers and a Wedding, follows similar stranger pairings the station undertook in 1999 and 2003. After eight years Paula and Zane Nicholl are happily married with two children. Steve and Kersha Veix, married for four years, have one child with their second on the way. The station has high hopes for another successful match. Says Harvey: "It's worked twice before. If it doesn't work this time we will just blame it on the bride picking the wrong dude."

Shakespeare and largely because of the Bard's literary influence. Marriages used to be concluded for all sorts of perfectly sane and logical reasons. Marrying for 'love' is a novel concept. People today and a large percentage of them being christians, do not believe in marrying for love. they believe it is a sufferage that is supposed to make them worthy of entering heaven depending on how much suffering they do. Why would anyone stay in a marraige without love? Commitment is fine but if there is no love, its like sounding brass or a tinkling symbol as all it is being done for is to show how good a christian one is.
