If a person has a strange dream, which involves an out-of-body experience, do you believe that this is a lucid dream?

There are two types of lucid dream.

A Dream Initiated Lucid Dream or DILD starts when person is asleep and they have a dream. In that dream they are then aware that they are dreaming and are able to consciously make changes to all aspects of the dream, such as making characters do what they want them to do and deciding what the environment is going to be like etc.

There is also a Wake Initiated Lucid Dream where the person or WILD where people go instantly from being awake to Lucid Dream state. It is in this state that people experience things like out of body experiences and floating above bed etc,

If this just happens naturally to you then so be it, however people actively peruse and practice getting into these states, especially WILD which is not healthy, especially when you see other religions developing yoga techniques etc to achieve this.

My guess is it is just a dream. But that is just my opinion as I know of no way to really evaluate this question

Yes and No. :noidea:

I've had God minister to me in dreams. And I've just had strange dreams. Ask the Lord..... He'll know. :o

Weird...I didn't really know about that second one before.

The first one I've experienced (though I've never pursued it...I didn't know a person could do that)...SO much fun. Usually I make myself fly.

I had an unusual dream back in 1991, where I was standing in a room with columns on this side and spanish archways that looked out into heaven. I knew Jesus was there waiting for me, but the angel beside me said, "If you go beyond this doorway, you can not come back." Instantly, I thought of my mother, and who would take care of her, so I wrestled with the angel and returned to earth. (woke up)

I felt such a peace after this dream, and I know Jesus is proud of me for giving my life to another, but I also have such a strong yearning to be with Jesus, and depression has plagued me ever since. Nothing on this earth can compare with what God has for us in heaven.

I lost mom in 1992, but I know I will see her again when God calls me home.

I just thought I would share this and I would love to hear comments from anyone who has had a similar experience.

In Him,

Janey

Just about everyone dreams many times each night, there are some people who are unable to, but that is a rare medical condition, many people can not remember them, you do need to wake up during or immediately after the dream in order to remember them. dreams are only stored in short term memory, even if you woke up during a dream, if you immediately did something else after, like answer a telephone that woke you up, then you probably would have then forgotten most if not all of your dream. you need to go over it as soon as you wake up to commit it to long term memory.

This is indeed frightening, but very natural, this state of sleep is called sleep paralysis. This is simply where you have woken up but your body hasn't. Our body has the ability to shut itself down while we dream, this stops us from enacting our dreams.. however as with all things, it dost quite work for some people and they end up sleep walking etc.. So when you wake up your body is still in this paralysis state, its nothing bad and completely normal.

People and cultures have put this down to many things, such as witches casting spells on people in order to take them way, the abduction theme is popular and it is rehashed in this day and age by being attributed to alien abduction.

Ill mention another type of sleep.. Night Terrors this is extreme sleep walking, sleep paralysis is not working in these cases and people enact dreams, quite often people experience fear of somthing and will try to escape, althought they are alseep they have eyes wide open and are mentally aware of thier surroundings. People have been known to simply jump out of windows from several floor up in order to get away from somthing they see in the room in thier dreams, or they have even been known to attack other family members..

One man woke up in middle of street to find himself covered in blood and manhandled by police. He found out later his wife had been stabbed a number of times, he pleaded he didnt know about this and claimed he did it in his sleep, was he telling the truth or was he simply using that as a cover for his crime?

well its time for my bed and so illl bid you goodnight and sweet dreams!

I believe in spiritual transportation but your whole body goes with you. I once had a commercial in my dreams... i really did.. My doctor estimates that out of all my dreams I am only gett a few hours of sleep. I record most of them. My dreams have sent be doctors who were able to diagnos me where others couldn't for years, They have showed mewhen I am looking for a place to move a specific piece of rug to look for, Jesus has showed me things to come as well as snakes in the grass. When I am moving to a new spiritual level. He also shows me my heart and where I need to do some work... He gives me vision for others. What I would like to know that when the Lord Jesus is giving a vision what part of the brain is stimulated. some say the frontal lobe but we may never really know patricia :emot-questioned:

The bible say's that God speaks to us through dreams, and he can even misister to us that way. However, Satan can give you dreams too, so be aware.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
