Steven Seagal demands FBI say sorry

By Splash Steven Seagal is demanding an apology from the FBI - claiming his acting career suffered when he was falsely implicated in a smear plot.

The screen star - one of Hollywood's highest-paid action heroes in the 1980s - says he missed out on film roles after he was embroiled in a scandal.

Seagal was implicated in a plot to frighten two journalists out of writing unflattering stories about him and his former business partner five years ago.

An FBI affidavit detailed allegations that Seagal hired detective-to-the- stars Anthony Pellicano to terrorize one reporters.

But the FBI investigation soon changed course, focusing on allegations that Pellicano spied on celebrities and other members of the Hollywood elite - including Tom Cruise. Pellicano is now in federal prison, awaiting trial on wire-tapping and other charges.

Seagal was never charged, and federal authorities have hinted they have no persuasive evidence against him, the Los Angeles Times reported.

But the FBI has never publicly cleared him.

Seagal says the publicity has been devastating, and he wants an apology.

Seagal, 56, said: "False FBI accusations fueled thousands of articles saying that I terrorize journalists and associate with the Mafia.

"These kinds of inflammatory allegations scare studio heads and independent producers - and kill careers."

Hollywood publicist Howard Bragman said the controversy "made the studios very nervous."

But he added: "Let's be honest: Steven Seagal was no Harrison Ford when this happened. But these accusations certainly hastened his decline."

Films Seagal appeared in - such as Under Siege and On Deadly Ground - generated more than $1 billion USD in ticket and DVD sales during the 1980s and 1990s.

But in recent years he has mostly appeared in low-budget productions that go straight to video.

Is this the only way this washed up hack can get any publicity?

Steven Seagal is demanding an apology from the FBI - claiming his acting career suffered

What about OUR suffering from watching his movies?

The screen star - one of Hollywood's highest-paid action heroes in the 1980s - says he missed out on film roles after he was embroiled in a scandal

You missed out on film roles because producers finally realized you have only one facial expression.

"These kinds of inflammatory allegations scare studio heads and independent producers - and kill careers."

You career was dead looooong before this, Stevie. It didn't just die, it committed suicide.

"Let's be honest: Steven Seagal was no Harrison Ford when this happened. But these accusations certainly hastened his decline."

The fatter he got, the quicker his decline.

Heck, if I was him, I'd WANT people to think I terrorized journalists and associated with the Mafia...it might cause producers to still think I was a still a bad mamma-jamma and give me some work!

Stephen Seagull (as I prefer to call him... :th_praying: )....is forever espousing the benefits of eastern religion and meditation techniques in his films.

Personally, I don't give two hoots if his career goes down the pan :24:

He's made enough money and fame off a gullible public already, in my opinion. And continues to lead many astray who worship or revere him as some kind of 'master'.

Perhaps it was less about FBI allegations and more to do with his one-dimensional acting skills. If you have seen one Seagal film, you've seen all of them, and they all follow the same formula.

A. He's a martial arts guy with a heart of gold and a hidden past.

B. He's tougher than anyone else, including Chuck Norris.

C. He helps out the underdogs.

D. He beats up lots of peripheral bad guys.

C. He kills the main bad buy at the end.

So he could just make one big movie called Above-The-Law-Hard-To-Kill-Marked-For-Death-Out-For-Justice-Under-Siege-On-Deadly-Ground-Under-Siege-2-Glimmer-Man-Executive-Decision-Fire-Down-Below THE FINAL CHAPTER, and release it straight to video. . .

Sorry Steve, you had your fifteen minutes. . .

:laugh::laugh::ph34r:

Without God, your time is up.....already!

LOL...good points!

My dad and brother-in-law love the guy, so I've had to sit and suffer through many of his movies. I once said to my dad, "How tough can this guy be....he runs just like me!"

Even he had to admit, he sure does run like a girl... :emot-handshake:

Gee you people really don't like Stephen Seagal, do you. But still does he deserve the FBI to do this to him?

How about Tommy Lee Jones? I always get them mixed up.

This thread is Mad!!

Undoubtedly one of the strangest I've seen in my time here on Worthy!! :emot-pinochio::emot-pinochio:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
