I have changed the question on Baptism because there is already a thread for this subject. I did say that before. And I am still continuing the baptism conversation on that thread. So post all baptism things there and I will answer them.

And will you all stop being so presumptuous about who or what I am. I am simply a Christian and I do go to church.

Furthermore you all have still not answered the bible verses that I have given regarding gifts. You all seem to go on a tangent and totally avoid the verses. Can you answer these statements with biblical back up or not?

2 Tim 3:15-17. We can be thouroughly equipped for every good work by reading his word. Nothing else is needed.

You mean like this verse?

What version are you using?

Here's tha NASB -

2 Timothy 3:15-17

15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

It says absolutely nothing about "nothing else is needed." You, sir, are adding to God's word something that is not there!

This is exactly the point of my last "tangent" Nebuc 10.

All you do is demand that people are not reading the scripture and have to have Biblical evidence and if you don't see scripture quoted you do not like it.

Maybe no one is using Biblical quotation because you really don't want to see that someone else is right anyway.

I have already said that I am not well educated Biblically and that is why I ask the question about head knowledge or heart knowledge. Just as I struggle to answer these matters with my head you struggle to answer the questions of the heart. Like who are you and why do you believe what you believe and why do you demand in such a way.

Yes the Bible is so important but so is the heart God looks at it all as a whole.

Several people here have answered your questions over and over with scripture, here and all your other threads.

I've been involved in these threads to learn more and I see you scripture but it does not sit well with in me as to what your answers are.

I tried to show you by heart and life God moves in miraculous ways today just as back then, I to can say to you you don't get the point.

I don't need to back up Biblically what is fact what was miraculous, what happened in my life. I am alive today and without Gods intervention on two seperate occasions I would be dead today. Why should any of us here have to back up miricles in our life with scripture.

Personally I think you have a very close likeness to Doubting Thomas. Unless you see and experience for yourself you will continue to doubt and say it is not real. And the sad thing is that if and when he does work in that way in your life , will you accept it , or will you dismiss it and say there are no miricles today and find something else to explain it away. I really pray that God miraculously works in your life to give you the heart knoweledgeI have along with many others here.

If you would have ACTUALLY read the COG statement of Faith that I posted way back when you will see all the scripture you need, but you do not seem interested in doing that else you would already have your answers scripture wise...and I could post more such scripture...but you are not coming with a mind to learn...you seem to want to debate and try to debunk others beliefs...I just do not see honest intentions in your posting, at least in this thread here, you ask questions and then ignore answers.

Neb is a Church of Christ member who comes to the Boards to fight and work up as much strife as possible.

Then, as other trolls before, he will disappear.

I think the issue of baptism has received enough treatment. It will never satisfy Neb because he needs baptismal regeneration as proof that he is a true Christian and everyone else is false.

That is the premise of many Churches of Christ. They are the true Church. The Church of Christ. In my mind such "denominationalism" borders on cultism.

Hey gymrose,

Listen, I have heard the argument that we should go by our heart and everything will be fine. Well what

Show a Scripture that says that the Spiritual Gifts from the Lord Jesus Christ are NOT for today.

.....You won't be able to :x: :x:

I have seen nothing in my reading of the New Testament that says that the Gifts are not for today....in other words, that they were only for the Apostles.

What about Acts chapter 4? The Apostles were already filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues, preforming miracles and such. They were filled afresh, yes. But they went back and reported to all the followers of Christ. They were not the only ones filled with the Holy Ghost. Again, that was not just the Apostles....and that was after Pentacost.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
