You know, if I was in this ladies situation I might feel much like her and I thought it was rather touching how the others had compassion and understanding for her. I just thought it worth bearing out that the emotional and patriotic response doesn't necessarily mean something is right or wrong. Of course, we can all sympathise with the woman's feelings given the situation. Anyway, nuff said!

On this, I agree Smash! (Did the earth just shake? ;) )

I for one appreciate your effort in this post Smash. War, politics...geez, what a mess, which is why the Word tells us that we live in a fallen state. I just look forward to perfection...His Perfection, which was promised to all those who have placed their Trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Bless you brother,

Wayne

"Well, I, for one, think it's just deplorable to invade Iraq, and I am certainly sick of our tax dollars going to train professional baby killers we call a military."

I bet those ladies have no problem with the "professional baby killers" called abortionists who tear babies apart or scald them to death with salt in their mother's wombs! That sort of baby killing is "a woman's right to choose"!

Again, this does nothing towards justifying the war, and as far as I know, the American government and the courts have made it possible for people to have legal abortions so you can't blame the people without it coming back on the government and the nation.

Amen, 'Smash.

The US Gov't made it legal and that needs to change, but it still doesn't make it right. Pres. Bush is trying to change that.

Personal lapses in reason cannot be blamed on the Gov't, though.

:t2::t2: Yup, we sometimes forget that "We the people" make up the government. We must all take the responsibility...humanity is lost, drifting like reeds in the wind. Only God can make it right again...and He will in His time.

Blessings,

Wayne

I only came back to look at this because it was a thread I started and I was curious as to why the convo was progressing.

But this brought to mind a conversation I had with some others about attitudes and such.

Someone made an interesting observation. The people who are like this - anti-war, anti-Bush, pro-abortion, etc. are filled with such an enormous hatred. I mean, like the way these ladies spoke - dripping hatred.

I had responded,"But conseratives didn't speak all that great about Clinton, either."

The response, "Yes, but it's not the same."

I thought about that, and I think I understand.

As I read the words of these women, I recall likewise words spoken by those around me, and yes, there is a spirit of hatred there. One would think as they speak they are on the verge of ripping the man's eyes out if they could.

I don't know - kind of hard to agree with the war protesting side with such fruit being grown and partaken over there.

Just my feelings.

I was neither defending or attacking the war - just pointing out the hypocrisy of people who opposed the war supporting abortion. A lot more children are killed EVERY YEAR (40 million worldwide at the very least) than have been killed in the Iraq war. In fact more lives are lost through abortion than have been killed in Iraq both civilians and soldiers on both sides. If those ladies are so concerned about babykilling they should object to abortion and the REAL "professional baby killers" the abortionists!!!

Iagree. While not all peace campaigners are hateful quite a few of them are. For people who claim to love peace they sure don't seem very peaceful. :P

Well, it seems you are trying to say that their views don't count because probably they support abortion. Show me one thing in that story that shows they support abortion. It doesn't exist so therefore it is speculation and conjecture only, you could easily be wrong about that. I think their view does matter and that in a democracy they should be able to speak their mind without fear of harassment or thought police. They had every right in the world to express their opinion. And don't forget, the Iraq war has been going on ever since the first gulf war, it has never stopped for over 12 years and it is estimated that hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children have died from preventable conditions as a direct result of American led sanctions, not to mention the ones that have died from actual war and left over munitions and the wounded and maimed from unexploded cluster bomb packets or the cancers from depleted uranium. All tolled the actual death toll from the ongoing war against Iraq is probably nearing or over the 2 million mark, much more carnage than Saddam ever committed against the Iraqi people, whether Kurd or Shia. Then you try to say that these people have no right to criticize, .... please give me a break! To mistake anger over unjust actions as hatred is extremely short sighted. At least theirs is a war of words and not guns.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
