I don't think anyone here has said that the Old Testament is invalid. But in according to the New Testament we are under a new covenant, a better covenant, and even a higher covenant than that of Abraham. To an extent the covenant is the same, however, it has higher implications - a higher bar, so to speak.

I have not crossed anyone here, so far, that has said adultery is okey for a believer. As far as tattoos and piercings, well, I think that's more a matter between the individual believer and the Lord. Under grace we are more responsible, and more accountable than we were under the Law. Under the Law it was "If you do not obey..." Under grace it is "If you do not live..."

BloodStainedSoul~

The OT is just as important as the NT.

It is a shame that some ministers choose not to share the OT.

I was raised Lutheran. On Sunday mornings the minister would read The Epistle, which was a verse or verses from the OT.

It wasn't until 1992, after my trip to Israel, that I started to research the OT.

I believe the problem lies with whom ever was teaching or preaching, over the last 2000 years. MEN should have read what was in front of them, and not gave Their VIEW of it. (This is sort of like a Grandfather clause).

The above statement doesn't refer to the guys on WB, I Pray.

I think over the years we have been conditioned to hearing only from the New Testament.

Throw out the Old Testament -NEVER, NEVER, NEVER.

It takes the OT to have the NT.

I am reminded of this passage:

Matthew 13:52 Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old."

In His Love,

-I remembered after posting that Jesus did indeed mention tithing in Matthew...he was railing the Pharasee for tithing but doing other stuff, he did not say stop tithing but to keep on doing so as well as do those things they were neglecting. So I here by Ammend the 1st post to include tithing in things mentioned by Christ...etc...

-Quite so----JESUS mentioned"tithing"----paul also "mentioned-tithing'--

-HEB.7.vss.1.thru.28----for the whole context about "tithing"-------

-vs.4--Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch ABRAHAM gave

-the "tenth"of the "SPOILS"-----

-how ever IF you KEEP"ONE-POINT" of the LAW you MUST keep ALL the points of the LAW----

-vs.12.----

-For the "priesthood" being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the LAW-----

-priesthood---"CHANGED"--Law of "TITHING" was FULFILLED{CHANGED} AT THE CROSS--AS were -

-ALL other -points of the LAW....

-HEB.10.vs.9-------

-Then said HE,LO,I come to do thy will,O'GOD.HE taketh away the"FIRST",that HE

-may establish the "SECOND".........

-At the time JESUS made the statement about"tithing" to the pharisee's the OLD covenant was

-STILL in effect--each & every Point of the LAW still had to be KEPT{OR TRIED TO ANYHOW}BUT AT

-the CROSS ALL--EVERY POINT --EVERY-ASPECT WAS FULFILLED---CHANGED--DONE-AWAY WITH

-hence----the LAW is written in our HEARTS & in our minds & in that way WE{KEEP}the law--such as

-we don't murder--steal--covet--etc-etc-etc-{but one of our resident theologians--{YOD}-- :P

-can explain-the "LAW" in quite a minute way--that just blows :my-po-lill-ole-brain} ;)

To learn sometimes where you are going and how you can improve, you need to know where you have come from. The Old Testament establishes not only Jesus' lineage as well as establishes the majority of the prophecies that Jesus was to fulfill and things to happen. Look at how Daniel and the book of Revelation work hand in hand? Or in Genesis, when right after the fall of man it speaks of the head of the serpent being crushed, and that was what Jesus came and did. How would we see the creation, fall and development of mankind and it's character and flaws but through the trials and tribulations of past society's? The lessons and commandments in the Old Testament help to teach us about ourselves and about the human heart. What lessons have we learned from them?

You cannot or maybe I should be saying should not separate one from the other. Scripture is too interlinked with itself to be used effeciently with only one part. It was meant as a whole - we should leave it as a whole. IMHO

:::blushes:::

why thanks for that lil' ole' endorsement Gary.....but

I just woke up yesterday with a new revelation of the Law (new to me at least)

It was weird....like a dream or something in a sub-conscience level just before I woke up.

I can't even put it into words yet but I'll mull around on it for a few days and try to post what I believe the Lord was showing me.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
