Fellow Saints,

Greetings in Christ! I know for me personally the greates spiritual warfare I go through is in my mind. There the enemy likes to rage against me. I guess the purpose of this thread is to talk about this aspect of it to help those new in Christ to learn how to combat the enemy in this area. I shall post again when I see others posts. Blessings...

This is what the 7th chapter of Romans discusses, but we always when we discuss this go on to the 8th chapter to see that we do win this battle. And we today are much better off than they of the old testament times were in this battle. In the old testament there were only selected a few amongst the thousands that wer filled with The Holy Spirit to empower them in the battle, and the rest had to trust them to win that struggle between the flesh and The Holy Spirits leadership. And then trust that they had won that struggle, and that God had told them how to lead the others. But we today have that available to each of us individualy, and so our struggle is narrowed down to the freewill choice of who we will serve. And that is one tremendous battle, and requires our constant attention to tempetations in the temptation stage before they progress to sin. We also need to imediately call out to The Holy Spirit for help. This battle like all wars will continue until we have the victory, and our flesh has been crucified just like it was with Christ in that garden prayer when He resisted His flesh to the shedding of blood. Thats the cost of taking up the cross to follow Him. But we have this encouragement that The Holy Spirit will always be there to urge us on. And with every step up calvarys hill He empowers us to take the next, and follow His instructions.

Yeah, spiritual warfare in my mind is a huge battle for me.

My mind rages and is in torment many a days, and I just turn on praise music, or recite verses, and pray, but this isn't always effective.

I hate it, I want a Christ focused mind, and to think Holy thoughts, but it seems I am continually becoming unfocused.

Any advice as to what to do? :)

What I said there is what I mean. Everyone has an area of their walk with Jesus that is the toughest for them...mine is in my mind..my thoughts..the devil likes to plant stuff their...to test me...you will know more about this should you ever enter Ministry work...the devil rages and screams against those who labor for Christ.

I find certain scriptures when read help...most of all...just getting alone with God in deep prayer strenghtens me..we must also remeber to keep the Whole Armor of God upon us...and when the enemy comes in like a flood...to pray to the Father to raise a stnadard against it...and we need to bind the devil and pray that our thoughts stay under subjection to Christ...and BTW

His Son....Awesome post.....

I can understand you......I went through life always believing there WAS a God....but mind you I was not saved did not attend church or anything...But I did think that there was a true God. Now after alot of years and near breakdown I recieved salvation (thank you Jesus). After that almost immediately I started to get these little doubts running through my mind about there "really" being a God. Does He truly exist or am I being crazy? things like that....it is a battle all the time to keep the doubts at bay...but yes prayer does help...so keep praying and chase any doubts you have away.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Amen to your post....I do not doubt Him or what he has done...an example of one of those things I go through in the mind....the Noah complex...not feeling like I ever get anything done for God...etc...like nobody is hearing what I just preached..etc..or like the devil trying to trip me up in my walk...

Most certainly! :t2:

Satan rages against us and our mind is his absolute favorite place to play.

Sometimes thoughts come into my head that are totally evil and abhorrent and totally out character with me. Thoughts of killing and torturing things. Thoughts of killing myself. Thoughts of abject worthlessness. Sometimes these come to me in dreams as well. I once had a horrid dream where Satan was holding Christ over a cesspool and had Him bound with meat hooks. Horrible!!!

I just have to call upon the name of Jesus and they quickly go away.

Love yuh brother...

I forgot to say in my prior post that these thoughts usually come when I am the closest to the Lord, when I am reading scripture and praying the most. When I am praising the Lord the most. Also, the closer I get to Him, the more things seem to go wrong, like knocking over a glass of water, power steering pump going out, water heater starts leaking, cat heaves on the floor, etc., etc.

When I am lazy in my "walk" everything seems to go OK.

I know what it is. The closer I get to the Lord, the more Satan turns up the heat. He hates me close to God in a personal and loving relationship. I just thank the Lord that He has allowed me to see this and that He always limits how far He lets Satan go.

Well, I think I know exactly what do you mean. The way I combat against this is by remembering that no matter how satan attacks you, he can't change the love for God in your heart.

You just have to remember this and everything calms again.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
