from my own experience, i can attest you are so right. ever since i had been working full time this last 2 months and thus less time studying about God, my mind was much more chaotic. i had trouble reading anything longer than a paragraph. last week i got back. it is much more peaceful around here!

Age hardly matters to what you feel inside. And yes, christains worship fear. Given the notion that something out there will destroy you, you are then forced to fear for your being. Remove fear, you will be happier. Which is why I am happier and....sane. And no thoughts of a magical, hidden, drama waste of time.

Christians do not worship fear. (2 Timothy 1:7) I don't have any fear in my God; in fact, I have satisfaction knowing that my God is on my side. Christians are much happier and saner than any non-believer will ever be.

When i began reading this thread, I would have to agree with the orginal poster... that is exactly the process of being called and sanctified.

I think it's more that each person has something they hold on to for a source of comfort, joy, and passion. This passion does not have to be the Bible, or the idea of a personal God. Lot's of religions find this comfort and purpose in styles of meditation, or in how they base their relationships with others. I don't adhere to any religion at all, and I'm not in the slightest a spiritual person, but I can find that some things can bring me away from the chaos, allow me to just enjoy life, and find more reason than ever to live for those purposes. One particular method is to focus on just the happy, good things, the hopes you have, the things in your life that HAVE gone well, as opposed to dwelling on the bad. Obviously religious people find this through their Scriptures, but I find it by just spending time away from the hectic life, spending time with my girlfriend, or family, or anything really. I don't want to be contrary to the purpose of this thread, but as a non-Christian I felt compelled to share that I can feel the same level of fulfillment

I have never met a reasonable person who doesn't find Theism fulfilling for one reason or another. A Creator God is just ideologically ubiquitous in terms of giving us purpose, guidance, love, morallity, and peace. The chaos these people speak of might very well be alien to you - it has to do with the integrity of their connection spiritually to God. I don't mean that to be offensive or condescending, but there is a notable difference between you that needs to be revealed. On a side note, you're lucky; that technique has been suggested to me many times, and only has moderate results, but that all has to involve a co-dependance on the God I know is there and gives me everything I could ever require or pray for.
