Is our best really good enough to merit the approbation of God? What is the acceptable sacrifice, and did the drummer boy offer it? Is this a Christian song? My friend it depends on your heart, I see a beautiful messeage there. Whether or not you you choose to call it a Christian song is up to you. The fact that it is played at Christmas for me is not the point, Listen to the words and let your heart guide you. Do you offer your talents to Him in worship? What better thing to do with a musical instrument that to play for the Lord? I see nothing unChristian with this message. The little drummer boy did not have a gift to offer other than his drum playing...so he gave of what he had and did his best, or if you will, gave his best. If you sincerely give your best to the Lord, I don't think He would be offended. The gift of drumming was given freely and with a pure heart, that it might be pleasing to the Lords ears. I think carols that speak of wasseling among the trees are alot closer to paegan than the drummer boy.

Is our best really good enough to merit the approbation of God? What is the acceptable sacrifice, and did the drummer boy offer it? Shalom Theo, Do you know what pagan worship REALLY is? it's not humanitarianism, it's really WORSHIPING false gods. That's not what is going on here in this song. From a paganism website: There is a great variety of traditions within the broad spectrum of Paganism. This reflects the range of our spiritual experience, for we believe that everyone is unique, and so everyone's spirituality must be equally unique. Some Pagans follow multiple Gods and Goddesses, their names familiar to all from the pages of European folklore and mythology: others focus on a single Life Force of no specific gender; yet others devote themselves to a cosmic couple - Goddess and God, or Lord and Lady. We celebrate our diversity for we believe that each person should find their spirituality according to the dictates of the quiet, inner voice of their own soul. For this reason we respect all sincere religions, and do not proselytise or seek converts. From other faiths and from society generally, we ask only tolerance. I wish that people would check before tossing around the false accusation of "pagan" when what they are saying has nothing to do with a anything pagan. Is our best really good enough to merit the approbation of God? What is the acceptable sacrifice, and did the drummer boy offer it? Did it please God when David danced before Him unashamed? Can we mere humans do anything in our own power to please Him? Hbr 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
