I would suggest to all posters that you go to MSN.com opening page scroll down to the place in the center collumn where the 4 wounded Vets from Iraq tell their story before you make any decisions about who or what you will vote for in this election. The news media haven't got the guts to put these testimonies on their programs, because they don't want The Truth getting out their before the polls open.

Interestingly enough, the sermon today at church was on the last hours of Christ and what happened in the Garden of Gethsemene and the darkness that was surrounding them. Of course, this most certainly spoke to me considering the threads I have been led to post and the things I have heard lately in the Word.

The disciples were tempted to sleep, and they did. This was a crucial time, and Christ asked them to stay awake and pray!

I was struck by the fact that in the dark we sleep, yet at this time they were asked to stay awake!!! To pray!!! Lest they enter into temptation!!!

Mark 14:37 Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." 39 Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. 40 And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him. 41 Then He came the third time and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

When it starts to become dark around us, we had better be putting on the armor and praying, rather than taking it off to sleep!

Roman 13:2 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

1Th 5:7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.

There is a temptation that can come at night, if we are not careful we are liable to fall into it. We must pray and be ready saints, for it is a crucial time for us!!!

Think of the 10 Virgins in the night, and have your lamp AND oil with you!

When it becomes dark and the Truth is seemingly nowhere to be found:

Isaiah 59:6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. 7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. 8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. 10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; 13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. 15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

But for those who will believe and follow Him and obey, here is what is said about the darkness that begins to come over the earth:

Isaiah 50:10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

The Lord speaks Truth and reveals in darkness, to those who will hold

fast to Him and seek His Truth:

Isaiah 45:19 I did not speak in secret, in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, "Seek me in chaos." I the Lord speak the truth, I declare what is right.

Practice TRUE FASTING (Isa. 58)

:10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday. 11 The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.

:19 "The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory. 20 Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended. 21 Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified. 22 A little one shall become a thousand, And a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time."

God is Sovereign and in control, even amidst the darkness! Do not forget He is in control when it becomes dark, trust in Him and remain faithful and obedient. Pray that you may be able to stand in the Day of the Lord (Mal. 3:2, Luke 21:36, Rev. 6:17)
