Shalom,

Jesus' teaching and commands: http://www.hallvworthington.com/Scripture_...g/commands.html

* Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. Mat 3:8-10

* Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." Mat 4:17

(think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct)

* I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Luke 13:3

* Believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. John 12:36

* Do not resist an evil person.

* If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

* And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.

* If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

* Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. Mat 5:38-42

* Love your enemies

* pray for those who persecute you,

* Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Mat 5:43-48

* But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.

anyone who says, You fool! will be in danger of the fire of hell.

If your brother has something against you, don't offer a gift on the altar.

First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. Mat 5:21-25

* anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Mat 5:28

* So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you Mat 7:12

* Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Love your neighbor as yourself. Mat 22:36-40

* If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.

It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.

And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off.

It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.

And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.

It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell. Mark 9:42-47

(He doesn't want us to maim ourselves. He is only illustrating how serious sin is. Jesus is desperately trying to tell us that to enter the Kingdom and escape Hell, sin is not allowed, period. He knew false prophets with false gospels promising freedom to continue to sin would arise after he left. Changes in our heart through the missing cross to purity can take away the desire of the hand, foot, and eye to cause us to sin.

* Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!

You make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within are full of extortion and excess.

You are blind, first cleanse the inside of the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

You are like whitewashed tombs, outwardly beautiful, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

So you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Mat 23:25-28

* As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Rev 3:19

* Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Luke 12:1-2. [Hypocrisy is talking about God, not conduct and conversation of a godly manner. Pretending to be a godly person, while practicing: greed, lying, pornography, drunkenness, slander, rage, lusts, etc. He tells us any hypocrisy will eventually exposed and shamed.]

* You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. Rev. 2:4-5

* Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. Rev 2:10

* You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin .. by committing sexual immorality...Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Rev 2:14,16

* Only hold on to what you have until I come. To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations. Rev 2:25-6

* Rouse yourselves and keep awake, and strengthen and invigorate what remains and is on the point of dying; for I have not found a thing that you have done meeting the requirements of My God or perfect in His sight.

So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent.Rev 3:2-3

* Do not swear at all: either by heaven, or by the earth, or by Jerusalem.

Do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black.

let your Yes be Yes, and your No, No; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Mat 5:34-37

* Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Mat 7:13-14

* Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

By their fruit you will recognize them. Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

(The fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, joy, self-control, kindness, faith, goodness, and gentleness; this involves ridding yourself of sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; greed, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. Gal 5:19-23.)

Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Mat 7:15-23

* whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men

The Sabbath is one of the commandments being talked about here, in addition to the others.

Shalom,

Your interpretation and opinion.

I don't see where not keeping the Sabbath is a sin stated any place. You'll have to do better than opinion.

Jesus was talking about keeping the commandments in general.

Shalom,

Really? That's not what it says. Again, that is your interpretation and opinion, which you are entitled to. However, since it is NOT written that way, you cannot insist that someone who doesn't see it YOUR way is in sin.

It is not necessary for Jesus to specifically mention all of them in the NT; especially since He was witnessing to the Jews who already knew the law.

He didn't SAY the Law. He said His teachings and His commandments. And so, yes it is IS necessary for Him to make the Sabbath a salvation issue. He didn't, you are.

The Sabbath is one of the 10 commandments and therefore is one set of commandments Jesus is talking about.

Again, your opinion and interpretation. Prove it please.

Then kindly show evidence of that. Anybody can do a word search. Unless you can link a scripture with the Sabbath in it to a loss of salvation, all you are doing is judging, AND pedaling a personal opinion. Show the scriptural basis for your claims. The scripture you gave earlier isn't it. It isn't even close.

If a person says that they believe in keeping the 10 commandments but doesn't keep the 4th, they are not truly keeping all of the commandments.

Shalom JemDude,

Sez you. Please prove it. The Scriptures do not state that not keeping the Sabbath affects one's salvation.

Jesus's teachings and commandments IS the law. If you are saying that any teaching not specifically mentioned by Jesus is okay to break, then there are others that can be broken too if you use that kind of logic.

Shalom,

Based on YOUR opinion and logic, ALL of the LAW is applicable. All 613 of them. How many do you keep, only 10? Tsk tsk.

The 10 are only PART of the Mosaic Law. It's either all or nothing. You can't pick out 10 and say you've arrived. You must keep them all if going by your logic.

Shalom,

Gal. 3:19 -- What then was the purpose of the law? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come.

God also spoke that all males should be circumcised; this was and is kept by the Jewish people then and now. When and where was this command changed? For those who are not circumcised are they not also going directly against God?

Since the Apostle Paul was God's servant, he was correct when he said that circumcision is no longer necessary (although it is still good for physical health). But note what happened when he said this. It caused controversy within the church.

The same thing would have happened if he changed the day of worship. Think about it. If a church changed their main day of worship or rest day, it would cause much controversy. If the pope decided that Catholics were to worship and rest on Saturday, Friday or any other day, it would be big news everywhere. The same with any other major denomination. If the early church really did change their day of worship or rest day, the Bible would have also recorded controversy as it did with circumcision. The reason why the Bible doesn't record any is because the change did not take place.

What about the announcement of a new covenant that Jesus made in reference to Jeremiah's prophecy?

Shalom JemDude,

Again, please address the LAW based on your statement:

Jesus's teachings and commandments IS the law.

How can you justify not following ALL the Law and only picking out 10, which are but a part of the Mosaic Law.

You must keep it ALL and still, BTW, Jews were never saved by keeping the Law.

You pick and choose 10, but you ignore the rest of the Law. That is hypocritical at best.

Since you are making the Sabbath a LAW issue (which it is not), you must concede this info:

Exceprt from EX-SDA site: http://www.ex-sda.com/

In the New Testament every duty of the Christian in their worship to God is given. Using the KJV we find:

The first commandment is validated

Has anybody learned anything yet?

Yes. When someone does not have scriptural evidence to back up their beliefs, they simply fall back on parroting what they have said before.

Shalom,

And they ignore and refuse to answer direct questions that challenge their opinions and they they have no Scriptures to support.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
