It goes back to that pesky freedom of worship thing.....I watched this video and I'm appalled that these seemingly intelligent people are under the mind control of scientology. This has to be satan at work....nothing else could deceive so many so completely. Disgusting.....

I agree, but we don't give every cult tax-exempt status. In fact, Scientology is the only cult I know of that's gotten tax-exempt status.

Maybe's it's because scientology has exhorbitant membership fees, no doubt some of them are used as kickbacks to the right people that have accepted their cult as a religion.

I see Scientology as rediculous of a religion as I view "the force" or whatever it is the "Jedis" believe in.

I think it's even more ridiculous than that. Real religions are not ashamed of their own doctrine. Take even the Catholic Church. It may have its scandals to hide but it doesn't hide its belief in saints or in the Trinity. But Scientology is ashamed down to its core. They spend millions of dollars in court fees to keep their asinine beliefs secret. No religion does this.

I'm not sure if I got this line from the documentary, but light really is the best disinfectant. I sincerely believe that the beliefs of Scientology are absurd enough that they will completely turn off those people who aren't already brainwashed. Scientologists know this too. Why else would they hide their own beliefs...and attack those who look for them?

Lorax, you posted the link to that video....did you watch the whole thing? Did you see the parade of celebrities...who refused to allow their words to be aired? They all had the same look on their faces...blank, hynotized, brainwashed, something. I can only liken their expressions to Stepford Wives. And their 'leader' had to be right there. Their status as a tax exempt 'religious' organization needs to be revoked; I'd suggest everyone who agrees write their representatives. I intend to, for sure.

I will not watch the video. We had a very huge Scientology building. I use to go and ask questions frequently... Than Finally the lord told me to go...claim the Land for Him poor oil on the land to cleanse it, and take the land back. I called my intercessor friends. Went out there. (15 mins away)

It is now a spanish pentecostal church. That scientology building and the congregants had been around over 25 yrs.

So I say get active start doing something about it.. Forget about How big and rampent it is...God is bigger. Praise the Lord!!!

You can also find just about every Scientology "truth" (revealed gradually to members as they give more and more money, basically) on Wikipedia. Which I find hilarious.

Seriously, though. Hubbard all but said he wasn't serious, and it's pretty clear that the whole thing's a (genius?) moneymaking scheme run by the few at the top, who don't actually believe in the doctrine.

All you need these days, to 'kick off' a religion, is the odd celebrity here and there.......and people will flock to it in their thousands....

Whether it be Tom Cruise, or Madonna,....... or whoever.
