I think it's a scam.

I read one paragraph that stated Israel would be hit with a nuclear bomb on a certain date. That date came and went. No bomb.

The author said the Israeli people must have discovered the code and took actions to prevent the bombing.

It is my belief that if God says something is going to happen, it's going happen. Nothing we can do can change that.

That's just what I believe.

THAT is not bible code stuff you're referring to. the "bible code" is never in the business of prophecy. future events are never found in it. only events that have already passed.

as for whether or not i believe it is real, the jury is still out on that one. i just wanted to jump in and make the clarification as to what the bible code supposedly is.

There is no code.

I concur.

I suspect that its even a scheme from Satan to make us focus on the secret codes with its oooh's and aaah's insdead of the real message which is simple and clear. Isn't that what the Legalists of today and Pharisees of old did? From the 10 Commandments that Moses made they made something like 300 additions to it?? And then Jesus came and said to them,

Matthew 23:13 (New Living Translation)

13 “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either."

And

Matthew 23:1-7 (New Living Translation)

1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 “The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses. 3 So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. 4 They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.

5 “Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear robes with extra long tassels. 6 And they love to sit at the head table at banquets and in the seats of honor in the synagogues. 7 They love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi.’"

Jesus was not really known for hash language except when it came to the Pharisees. And no wonder, read again what he says in the above verse!

"Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either."

Just an idea..

Lady C I just saw your post. I've read a book by them that was in the business of making prophecies on future events. This was before the year 2000 however, and I remember they were really off the mark with their predictions.

i hadn't heard of bible code back at that time, or if i had, i didn't think enough to listen. everything i've ever heard since it HAS caught my attention though indicates that future events are impossible to determine from it. for example, supposedly each and every one of us has our name somewhere encoded if we know how to use the code.... however, we will never find the names of our children or grandchildren until AFTER they are born, because we do not know the criteria to use.

that is how i understand it anyway, from those who are believers of it, some of whom have even purchased the software.... me, i just don't have that much time on my hands LOL.

The title of the book was "The Bible Code".

If you look at something long enough, you'll see what you want to see.

The Lord would never hide His message from His children.

The "Bible Code", as Blien stated, is something the devil cooked up to take our eyes off the true Word.

GOD does have one prophecy though that is Bible Code style... :thumbs_down:

If you have a Jewish friend, or can read Hebrew yourself, translate all the descendants of Adam's Names in Genisis 5. There is a wonderful and amazing revelation for you that relates to us Christians today and for Jew's who have yet to accept God's "Message". Well I dont want to ruin it for you. :whistling: hehehe, here I'll translate Adam's name.

Adam = Man

Seth = ?

Enosh = ?

Kenan = ?

Mahalalel = ?

Jared = ?

Methuselah = ?

Lamech = ?

Noah = ?

if i was incorrect and it foretells future events, then i'd have to say i agree, it's bunk. if, however, it only confirms events that have already happened, then i wouldbe inclined to think there may be something to it.

but anything that you have to use some sort of mathematical code to find dates of what will happen next is definitely along the lines of sorcery and something God tells us to avoid.

David and Eric, what you guys wrote is interesting. :39: Your comments make me rethink...

I haven't perceived those who promote a Bible code as Gnostic or a demand for the Bible to prove its authenticity.

Maybe being a mathematician who loves patterns and statistics changes how I view the alledged code? :thumbsup:

Regardless, I know that some will go to extremes, just like those who research Bible prophecies...and that if not careful, these ideas can shift our focus off what really matters.

I don't know that I am speaking factually or not, but it seems to me when the book was released the author did a lot of interviews. In one particular interview, I believe he admitted he was not a Christian. He did not consider himself a follower of Christ. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

Maybe a different book? :noidea: Grant Jeffrey is a believer. http://www.grantjeffrey.com/bio.htm

The book "The Bible Code" is not well thought of. The codes that I have seen, which I do see as the fingerprints of the Holy Spirit, do not add, subtract, or modify what is clearly seen in the text. For instance, there is "skipping of letters" known as Equidistant Letter Sequence which was found by Rabbenu Bachya ben Asher in the 13th century. When Rabbi Michael Ber Weissmandl was 13 years old he obtained a copy of the Torah commentary that Rabbenu Bacya ben Asher had written his notes in about the codes he had found. Rabbi Weissmandl spend much time writing out the Torah in a 10 by 10 grid, but his work was interrupted by Nazi invasion, but later on he got back to it.

Now I can't type Hebrew letters on here, but I will do my best to explain this using Rabbi Weissmandl's system. Torah in Hebrew is spelled with 4 letters - tau, vav, resh, and heh. In the first verses in Genesis, if you go to the first tau, then cout 49 letters you come to a vav, then 49 letters you come to a resh, then 49 more you come to a heh. (Remember Hebrew reads right to left and also 49 is divisible by 7 which is a number attributed to God). This same sequence was found in the book of Exodus also - Torah spelled out at 49 letter distances. (Torah is also spelled out in Genesis 3 other times, but at 50 letter sequences) Based on the number of letters in Genesis and the number of letters in Exodus, the chances of them both containing the word Torah, at 49 letter distances, begining with the first tau, in the first verses is about 1 in 3,000,000.

The book of Leviticus does not have this "Torah" sequence. But Numbers does - only it is backwards. Then Deuteronomy also has it at 49 letter intervals backwards.

So, it was decided to take another look at Leviticus. They took the square root of 49, which is 7, and found that by beginning at the first yod and counting 7 letter intervals the word YHWH (the name of God). So the books on either side of Leviticus spell Torah in such a way that it points to YHWH.

Coincidence? Maybe. Does it add, subtract or change the text of the Bible? No. Do the Rabbi's have too much time on their hands? Probably. But it is very interesting to me. This is just one of many examples.

The reference that Blien gave to the names from Adam to Noah is yet another of the hidden gems. In Genesis there are name of trees coded in the creation account - but they are only trees whose names appear other places in the Bible. In Isaiah (I think it is Isaiah) the names of the Desciples are coded. None of this adds anything to the text. But it does show design...or fingerprints. The New Testament also has some interesting little tid bits, too.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
