its right that we're not supposed to feel happy all the time and that we all have our depressed days coz thats life, but to feel depressed, anxious and paranoid every day for no other reason then by standing in the frozen food section in the supermarket or by watching daylight come through your window or for absolutely no reason at all then there is somthing wrong and thats what the illness is. its a chemical inbalance, it doesnt just get triggered by certain things or events, you just wake up and want to die, eat lunch and want to die, go to bed wanting to die and when you're asleep you dream of dying.

it is all in our heads and the trick is to master our own minds by not thinking too much, which is hard coz if i was to tell you not to think of a pink elephant, what you gonna do? i used to describe it as trying to runaway from my own head but no matter where i ran to it was still there attached to my shoulders. it felt like my whole life was wrapped around me so tight that i couldnt even breathe.

trust me counciling or therapy does help you just have to be brave enough to talk about stuff you dont wanna talk about which really scary

I'm very sad to hear of your experience as I have had to endure similar problems with severe depression . I was diagnosed with the condition about 8 years ago and I have taken a variety of medications and tried many different therapies to address the problem. It is really important to remind yourself that the fact you suffer from depression doesn't discount the fact that God loves you. The love he shows towards those who have faith in Him is great, even more so when you have overcome challenges and taken strength from his word.

I have had to fight against post-traumatic stress since a terrible experience that I endured while living in Central America. Sometimes I have thought, quite wrongly, that God must not have any sympathy for me because I have sunk into despair and this seems wholly wrong, but if we trust in God's power and in the love of Jesus Christ as our Saviour we have the solution to any tribulation.

When life is difficult, we must remember that if God is for us, how much greater is He than any and all of the difficulties that we face?

The bible tells us that our weapons of warfare are not carnal, but mighty in battle. When you look at the armour of God - our only offensive weapon is our sword - the word. Everything else is defensive, to protect. Physically going through the motions of 'putting on the armor' each day can be very helpful (I've just started doing that again recently.) But I think one of our most powerful (and sometimes underutilised) weapons against the devil (and all evil is ultimatly from that source - same as all good is from God) is the word of God.

So when we start 'swinging our sword' so to speak by answering every doubt (like our salvation) or fear with the truth of God's word - the enemy hasn't a leg to stand on because we cut them out from under him.

The bible tells us that trials will come - that's part of our walk as christians, but that we don't need to fear, because christ has overcome the world and is sitting at the right hand of God as we speak. He is the name above every other name, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. At his name, every knee will bow. The devil is merely a fallen angel, he is not God. (Or Gods equal.)

Using the word cuts down our enemies. Even jesus answered the devil with the word when he was tempted in the wilderness before he began his ministry. The devil challenged, and jesus quoted scripture in reply.

It's a powerful weapon. The bible tells us that 'we overcome by the blood of the lamb, and the word of our testimony.' Our 'testimony' is our statements. The words that come out of our lips. Do we speak life or death? Gods truth or the devils lies?

And then the bible tells us that when we've done all we can - to stand. That's what people mean when they talk about standing on scripture. I remember Kenneth Hagin? (I think) saying somewhere - 'The word says it. I believe it. That settles it.'

lol I love that.

The bible also tells us that when we resist the devil, he will flee from us. When we're in the right - he has to - because Jesus has already defeated him. We just have to keep on swinging, and keep on trusting and obeying and doing our best till we get there - and God will do the rest.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
