LIBERAL CHRISTIANS?

I see so many forums that are full of liberals who fly under the banner of "christianity".

Do you think someone who embraces the liberal agenda AND A LIBERAL DOCTRINE is truly born again?

Personally I know how I feel about it but I wondered what other christian veiws might be.

I think you are mixing politics with Christianity, which really do not mix well at all....only God can judge someone's heart and being born again is a personal relationship with Jesus and frankly has nothing to do with whether you are liberal or conservative.

I don't think it is an unfair question to wonder how someone can be for abortion and saved at the same time.

There are many political positions which are in direct opposition to the Bible.

I suppose it's possible to be saved and never read the Bible????

One cannot be theologically liberal and born again. You cannot deny the Deity of Christ and His resurrection and be saved.

One could be left or right winged politically (liberal/conservative) on social issues like helping the poor with a welfare state or not, but it would be contrary to the heart of a Christian to be morally liberal in the areas of abortion and homosexuality.

But ultimatly as a christian, wouldnt you have to chose which candidate you wanted according to the moral issues or not vote at all?

If we had to chose our President according to all moral issues we might never be able to vote.

I sort of agree with Yod - we must choose between the lesser of two evils.

I am reminded of the Church at Laodicia. I see that the "spirit" of this church is very prevelant today. They are lukewarm Christians, fence straddlers and God is going to "spew them out of His mouth".

We are told by Jesus:

Matthew 7:13-23 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
