Reading the article is bad enough, but there is a video included in the article, if you are very sensitive to the plight of animals, basically a moral human being, then you won't want like what you see and it will break your heart.

How can people be so cruel, what is the purpose of skinning an animal while it is still alive? Can't they at least kill the poor creature first?

Also, I wish there was a way we could just boycott China for good, how can we continue to fund such a vile, cruel and evil country?

You know...I could not bring myself to watch the video. I cannot imagine...

Speaking as someone who hunts and fishes (although I quit hunting years ago), I would never purposely inflict pain on any living thing. When I took a shot, it was a "killing shot" and usually I was on the mark. I say this to make it clear that I am not a "bleeding heart" PETA type.

BUT this is horrible. To inflict pain on a living creature and then to torture it is horrible and beyond all understanding regardless of the circumstance.

The only explanation is that people who perform such an act are psychopaths and have NO respect for life.

I am the same way, maybe I'm not a true blue conservationist, but I do believe in preserving dignity, respect and mercy on animals.

I couldn't watch the whole video, I saw maybe 1 minute of coverage before I was to heartsick, upset and angered by their cruelty. The article was upsetting enough.

Yet, here we are (as a nation) cheering them on in the Olympics, content with the illusion they have created in Beijing, while the rest of their nation, the people and creatures suffer unimaginable cruelty and oppression.

Don't buy fur, don't even buy faux fur, because most likely it has come from those torture farms.

I won't read it or watch it either...I've seen some of that before where they were raising cats and skinning them for their fur. Anyone who mistreats animals is on my short list anyway.....I abhor the atheist Chinese (and the atheist Russians too) but I realize that we should pray that they be struck with the power of the Lord, that their eyes be opened and their hearts cleansed of satan. We have to remember that there are more Christians in China than almost any other country, btw. On a lighter note...I don't think we're cheering the Chicoms at all; we, the people, are cheering for our own, along with the Brits, the Australians, Canadians, NZ'ers, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Mexican and Israeli athletes (and those from other civilzed countries). :th_praying:

I decided years ago that I don't need fur badly enough that an animal has to die for it. It's disgusting; we won't freeze without it so...we don't need it.

I was really taken by surprise at the idea that they have been passing off real animal fur as "faux fur". The whole reason behind faux fur was to allow people to enjoy the closest thing without any animals having to suffer. One thing I cannot abide by is the unnecessary suffering of any of God's creatures. While I am not a big proponant of hunting it makes far more sense than what these people are doing. Most hunters I know enjoy hunting for sport but more times than naught they eat what they kill and in this way show a sort of respect for the animal. In the past I have had fellow Christians cite verses from the Bible that tell us that the animals were created for our needs and so we are free to treat them as we wish. I simply can't find ANY rationalization for allowing another of God's creatures to suffer if it is within our power to end it or prevent it.

We cannot say whether or not these people have been coerced or forced to do this work. We can only presume that any honorable person would resist even refuse to such things to animals and that their families would be in danger should they not do what they are told. We in the U.S. as well as much of Europe have gone through similar industrial periods and at some point public outcry brought about changes to these kinds of processes. In the case of China the people have no voice and so the government is under no pressure to address these issues.

Why watch the footage of that in the first place??? Just reading this article is BAD enough without viewing the utter cruelty....

And yes, people who do things like this to animals AND HUMAN BEINGS (EG: Canadian Greyhound bus and numerous other disgusting unmentionable atrocities against people and society) SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE........

This doesn't seem to happen though.

You didn't have to roll your eyes about this. I wish we would have just boycott the olympics entirely. China does not deserve the honor of hosting the olympics.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
