I am not too sure that Satan reads the Bible!

I think that in his arrogance Satan thinks that he can over come God, that he can win the battle and take the place of God. Otherwise he would have never rebelled in the first place.

He knows bible front and back

I think that it was probably more a case of satan 'having nothing to lose', so to speak.

It reminds me of a case known as the 'Dunblane' massacre in Scotland, where a man, who was formerly a Scout master, who was accused of sexually abusing several children, walked into a primary school one day and shot to death 16 children (aged 4 to 5), and their teacher, before turning the gun on himself.

Why did he do that?

Well........probably because he thought that he had 'nothing to lose'.

This makes him all the more dangerous.

It's the same with satan. He will never repent. He will never control his urges. He will never back off. For whatever reason, this is the case, according to my understanding of the Bible.

So he does whatever is within his power to inflict as much damage and heartache as possible, within his given time, and 'to hell with the consequences'.

That is my simplistic opinion, anyway.

Satan is not to be given any sympathy. He is out to do as much damage as possible. As he always was. He is the true enemy of God, and of man. The sooner he is destroyed, the better.

I think that satan knows (or knew) that he could never be reconciled with God. Nor did he want to. His only intention was to cause as much havoc as possible within his allotted time. This has been borne out by all the murders and evil that has been witnessed in the world since the fall of man.

So, whether satan knew or not what would be the outcome of inciting people to hate Jesus, his intention was always the same......to try and dethrone God, and rule in His stead, bringing in his wake all the misery and suffering that he could muster.

Thank God for Jesus.

He knew the beginning from the end.

And He overcame.

For us

It is a difficlut question to answer, since the scriptures don't address it at all.

I'd have to agree sweety cakes, I don't think satan knew the end result of the cross. If he did he would never have conspired to put Christ on it. Too bad he loses!!!!!

Well.........God has a way of turning things that are intended for evil, to our good, and to His glory. He knows the end from the beginning.

That is why it is said, "He reigns from everlasting, to everlasting"

From everlasting to everlasting

The Lord is God

Honour and Majesty are before Him

Strength and beauty in His sanctuary

Everlasting to everlasting

His love is set on me

So I'll praise Him

And dance before Him

And worship Him in the liberty

Wherewith the Son of God has set me free :emot-hug:

Fallen Sons

The Fallen Son Of The Morning

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:

I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;

I will be like the most High. Isaiah 14:12-14

And Jesus Gives Us Another Peek Into The Character Of This Most Ungrateful Creature

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44

But To The Fallen Son's Of Adam God Offers His Gift Of Faith By Grace

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

The Gift Of Belief In The LORD Jesus To Whosoever Will

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

The Gift Of Belief In The Bible

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16

And they sung a new song, saying,

Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:

for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Revelation 5:9

The Gift Of Rebirth

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts,

crying, Abba,

Father. Galatians 4:6

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

:noidea: - For both statements! (Cept I don't think it's bad that he loses  )

I Corinthians 2:7-8

But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

I'm so glad you asked this question Tigger, because I have wondered the same thing for a long time. In fact, I thought for awhile that satan didn't have anything to do with Jesus' death (how could he do something so silly?). Scripture says he didn't know so that's what I believe, but it still doesn't make sense to me.

:P

I don't think he knew what would be the outcome of Jesus' death..........but he knew full well what were his own intentions.

To dethrone God.

He lost :emot-hug:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
