I am currently attend a Southern Baptist Church, so I can answer questions about them Don't they all teach the same thing? no, they do not ...... one i know of, considered going to the "Movies" as a sin, even if it was to see, "Time to Run", or " The Hiding Place" or "Thief in the Night"..... yet, they would allow you to watch the video in their basement, with lights off, and no arranged seating, and call it a "FILM" that was ok...... it was "ok" if you had sex, and a condomn was used for B.C. but if a pill was used, that was a sin...... (this also was a "Baptist" church..... another "Baptist" church has the ushers checking hem lines to ensure the skirts and dresses are long enough.... another one labled as Baptist, protest at military funerals, even though the person that is being laid to rest has been retired for a long long time, and a good many of them have never even shot a weapon other then in training or for hunting..... just because some one has the tag of "BAPTIST" does not mean they teach the Bible..... the first time a minister says, you do not need to follow, or look it up or try to figure it out for yourself, hopefully you will be seeing RED FLAGS....... if something sounds weird.......VERIFY IT....... that is not just with Baptist churchs, but with any church fellowship/denomination...... blessings..... mike

Who knows which denomination he'll ask for next? would you want the truth? or or just to feel good? there are too many people out there calling themselves Christians and they are actually workers for satan and are holding titles saying they are not...... very deceptive...... just because a person goes into a church building does not make a person a Christian, no more then being in a garage makes a person a fiat or a ford or chevy....... this is why we are told to STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED...... dont take my word for it, read it for yourself.... verify what is said every time a preacher says something...... mike

Just like every one of our Christian groups though there are thousands of tiny splinter groups that believe every sort of crazy thing. I would start with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and look at what they believe they are BY FAR the largest Baptist group, they have consistent theology, spelled out beliefs, etc, and millions of members. In fact I think they are the second largest denomination in the United States in total for all Christians.

Unfortunately, i cannot answer you with precision. since your response already impressed me a lot. In fact,I thought of the Baptist faith to be the same all over the world. But, maybe I will be more interestd in the one related to the Missionaries. For example, I heard from here in the Congo that acoording to the Baptist, churches memebres of a church are very few. I heard of about one hundred persons for one church community. Shalom !!! What is the Baptist faith? Which "Baptist" do you want to talk about... They have 5700 missionaries around the world (an additional 1900 in the US) it is the focus of the Southern Baptist Convention to reach the lost with the gospel. You may be familiar with Charles Stanly and his ministry. They are broadcast inn over 120 languages now. If you do a search on them, you will find what you are looking for. Blessings on your efforts. I personally believe he is one of the greatest teachers of today. I have grown soooo much through his messages. http://www.heartcrymissionary.com/resource...ons/paul_washer Download first message at the top This would be probably the best starting resource to teach you a bit about the seriousness of missions and what God wants done. Mainly, if you want to do missions you better be a man of God and saturated in God's Word everyday. There are many missionary groups that are actually doing more bad than good. It would be great if the Lord is truly calling you but if He's not then you will be doing a mission through the flesh and God does not honor that. I'm not trying to put you done but just show how serious the work of God is. Its the most important thing there is. Make sure for one, that you are bearing much fruit within your own church. Do everything you can as far as evangelism goes right where you are first. One of the greatest mission fields right now is the "church". So many people within the church claim to be saved although in reality have never known God. A true faith is demonstrated through a Holy life and as we can see a lot of the churches in America right now are very immoral and in turn unsaved. I want to encourage you brother because God could have a great calling for you just make sure He is truly calling you. My main suggestion is PRAY! Prayer is key! May God bless you in whatever it is you do. Your brother in Christ, Matthew
