Last Sunday my pastor talked about something that happened when he was a bible school teacher and a female student told him this. Readers Digest version true story...

She was in a marriage relationship and one day out of the blue her husband left and took the car and left her with no means of support and all the bills. Including the car. So she was planning on attending this bible school and she packed and went, not knowing how she would make it. She got to the town where the bible college was situated and found a part time job as a cashier in a local bank. She barely had enough money to live on. But one day she stuck her old bank card in an ATM and entered the pin. She expected it to be rejected. But it was validated and she was in the account she and her husband once shared. I guess they were by now legally separated. But the account had a large sum of money in it. She did an internal diagnostics on the situation and decided that she would not touch the money which her husband had access to and had obviously been making deposits etc. She felt that she was honoring God in so doing and sure enough a couple days later her bank manager called her in and said she was doing good work and gave her more hours. She felt that was a good response from heaven. More work for her keep.

I thought about it a few times this week and I think it was a debatable issue. The husband left her high and dry and even left her with all the debt. Now she has his number and could take money from this account. At least until he wised up to the fact. It is a fact they are still married. I would have taken as much as I needed, thank you very please. I think perhaps she would have been blessed either way. After all it was technically her money too.

The money wasn't hers to take.

It doesn't matter if they were still technically married.

It's called stealing.

If I was in her situation, I wouldn't touch the money. :whistling:

She was still in a legal marriage.

Hmmm :whistling:

If the Lord led her to leave it alone, then she must follow the Lord's leading certainly. As for it not being hers, if they are still husband and wife LEGALLY, without any legal restrictions like a court order, she has as much right to all the maritial assets as he does. She can't steal from her own assets, they belong to her.

The husband might have been into illegial stuff besides being an unfaithful husband, and the money could have been ill gotten gains that, had she taken some, might have implicated her in some crime. Also, without a doubt such an action would generate wrath from him, and who knows? if he is sold out to sin, he might kill or destroy in rage.

We are always ahead of things to obey whatever the Lord leads us to do.

Sometimes you have to think, "Will this make the situation worse? "

Even if they were still married, it would have made the situation worse.

She did the right thing I think.

I see your point but you must never have had your suitcase left on the sidewalk. Left with all the bills and told, "I do not love you anymore." No money and no home. It changes the perspective when the one you have been with has money. And you helped earn it or were a part of that person's life. Nothing in life is simple.

From the realm of the flesh, yes, half of it is hers.

But when he left her, she knew he wanted nothing to do with her any longer and she accepted that.

The money he was depositing into the account was no longer their money, it was his and she knew that.

To take something that does not belong to you is stealing.

She made to right choice.

She trusted God.

It is if you have God on your side.

the money is as much legally hers as his, if they are still married and still have a joint bank account... and since she had an ATM card in her name with her own pin number, they obviously still did. so NO, IT WOULDN"T BE STEALING. by law, taking money out would not have been wrong. period.

however, she did what she believed honored God, and in so doing, God will honour the woman's faithfulness. so even though she would not have been in the wrong (legally or ethically), she did do what was right because she was obedient to God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
