Receiving Visions

Greetings Catsmeow,

Be cautious about what Charles Standley says. You have to weigh his words very carefully. As for dreams and visions, they are not as uncommon as he thinks:

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

2 Corinthians 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Hosea 12:10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

I personally think that the reason we do not see more of this is because of the moral fibre of our society today. I think it is in direct connection with the state the church is in today.

Seeing into the spirit realm is typically rare and God initiated.

DE: I totally trust what Charles Stanley says...he's a bible-believing, very traditional Baptist preacher....and I love him. Yes, I do trust what he says much more than anyone else. He's widely respected.

Again, we are called to walk by FAITH..not by sight. God may initiate some visions but typically this is not a common event.

I would be very skeptical if I had them frequently. Also many people confuse dreams with visions. They're NOT the same.

I'm not surprised the Apostle Paul had visions, considering his mission. I also would expect people to have visions ocassionaly but seeing into the spirit realm on a frequent basis eliminates the need to live and walk by faith.

It can become an "experiential" thing, sorta like the "laughing church" or "holy laughing"...people mistake this as the Holy Spirit but is likely a counterfeit "manifestation" because Satan himself imitates messengers of righteousness.

We can assume in the last days there would many counterfeits signs and wonders.

I completely agree with Catsmeow!!!! Charles Stanley is my absolute favorite pastor and not once have I found something contrary to Scripturesin his teachings.
