Guest shiloh357
I think people are missing the point of what Neb is making regarding the use of a symbol. I think people are missing the point of what Neb is making regarding the use of a symbol. For what it's worth Shiloh, I agree. Thank-you , Shiloh and Sam. Ur welcome! The thing with a symbol is that the meaning of the symbol is subjective, unless it is a symbol given in the Bible, where the meaning is supplied for us. I mean the Star of David is a common occultic symbol, but is also the chief symbol of the state of Israel. The five pointed star is used on the American flag as the symbol of the fifty states, but it is also used in the occult as well. The Star of David is also used in the synaguge. It adorns various parts of any given synagogue and no one can honestly make the case that that Torah observant Jews are worshipping satan (unless that person is a flaming anti-Semite). The fact that I can find those who take the Star of David and use it to worship satan does not mean that Star of David is in and of itself inherently evil. Its meaning is supplied by the user in a given context. God made eagles and and He made eagles' feathers and if a NA tribe of believers wants to use that feather to, for whatever reason, symbolize eternal life, then there should be a problem with that even if unbelieving NAs are using it another way. It is important that we take into account the heart and intent of the person, as that is what God sees.

Maybe you could make allowances for your weaker brethren who do so, not out of rebellion or in response to an idolatrous heart...but through traditions, that now incorporate the story and celebration of the birth of Messiah...and who enjoy a good family get together. Yes there is alot of commercialism involved, and excess...but we don't have to allow ourselves to go overboard...mind you I bet I have too much turkey again! In love...In Messiah. Botz I'm sorry...you consider those who celebrate Christmas as "weaker brethren"? The way I read it, Bibs, I got the impression that Botz used the term 'weaker brethren' not because Botz sees them that way, but because Botz figured His-Will-Be-Done would see them that way. If that makes sense? Thanks Sheya Joie for seeing exactly where I was coming from ...I even indicated I would be amongst them.
Guest
why is celebrating the birth of Jesus so controversial? No Kidding! I Think It's Pride Some Confuse Works With Love And Judge The Believer's Worship Of Their LORD Jesus As Sin Pride The Start For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Isaiah 14:13-14 The Middle And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Matthew 7:3-5 The End Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Revelation 22:14-15 Grace For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 Causes Celebration Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 For Jesus Is LORD And He Is Worthy Of Adoration Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11 So Dear Sister Please Forgive The Sad Sacks And Celebrate Jesus Every Day Of The Year For Any Day Is A Good Day To Rejoice In The Birth Of Our LORD This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. I've had that so long I really don't know where it came from. I did look back in history to see if there was an eclipse in the year they talk about and there was. I've seen this on several web sites and I have no idea which one of them was first. Traveller, A lot of things I post come from books. This particular case the writings from wherever I did download it from come directly from the information contained in this book. If you can find the book it's a really interesting read..... if not you can read it on line here. http://www.askelm.com/star/index.asp The book is "The Star of Bethlehem: The Star that Astonished the World"

I have not seen a post in awhile. To spout his hateful junk somewhere else hopefully? My hateful junk? Look at the context in which I've been speaking and bare wintess if I have said ANY EVIL to anyone on this site. I have said exactly what the word tells us. Whether you see it that way or not, then I only hope the Lord will grant you eyes to see and ears to listen. But I will not call out people individually. That is immature and very carnal. I do not hold anything against anyone, but I apologize to anyone that may have been given the impression that I was being "haughty." My posts are actually tracts that I've put together by God's grace and had intended to see if there were those who may have been interested in receiving copies of them. I've learned from this experience and will think twice in posting tracts on forums. This is the last post I'll make in this thread.

You have been on this site stating that everyone who is part of any denomination is "apostate" which is a VERY hateful thing to say to other Christians. The truth is you don't think most if any of us, are Christians in the first place.

I have read several of your posts in a couple of different threads on W.B., and all I see is, haughtiness, judgement, and critisim. Just because brothers and sisters in Christ do not follow your way of thinking and believing does not make one heretical and false worshippers.
