I'm missing something in the audio . . . all I heard was rain.

They have other samples if you search the site. They have one of just the womb noise too which is, for some, likely to be preferable. For years now I have been running a fan in my bedroom to help me sleep. Initially I bought it to help circulate air and it does drown out a large amount of city sounds. Even so it is not very low frequency so it cannot compare to even simulated womb noise. As I was falling asleep it dawned upon me that vibration to the bed frame could also mimic the low frequency white noise of the womb (minus the heartbeat). It may be something worth experimenting with.

OK - my problem was the volume wasn't loud enough!

I must be weird . . . the heartbeat noise was bothersome to me.

Oh well, I like the frogs and ocean surf sounds.

I have to agree that the heartbeat seemed out of place, initially, but it reminds me of the noise you hear crossing a bridge or bumps in the road. It's likely the volume of the heartbeat varies from mother to mother. It's also said that males carry lower than females so for males the heartbeat may be more faint during their time in the womb compared to females. The creators of these audio CD's may also be neglecting the effect the ambiotic fluid would have on how the sound travels. There are several different companies producing these "white noise" CD's and I guess it's just a matter of finding the right one for each individual. For me it is the low frequency hum with a very subtle heartbeat. I was the third child born to my mother so the scar tissue or changes made by the previous births could have placed me well enough from the heart to be almost inaudible. There are certainly many variables to consider but the main thing is knowing that there are sounds that contribute to healthier sleep paterns and by now we should all be aware of how important restful sleep is to our mental and physical well being.

the Lord has brought a lot of healing to me i think by listening to scripture while sleeping. very peaceful sleep not sure how much i have learned as a result of this lol but i can say it most definately has brought His peace to my sleep -so much so that i have encouraged others who have had problems with flash backs or nightmares to try it ( and also to read scripture right before they sleep as well).

James Earl Jones. His voice is hypnotic. I believe we do retain some of what we hear while we sleep. Think of it this way. It's like using a different priority scheme for defragging your brain. I think it helps to keep scripture stored where it's most easily accessed.
