Sleep Paraylasis

My whole life I have suffered from sleep paralysis. In every single dream I've had I have always felt like some evil was squeezing me real tight. I have even seen demons in my dreams. I often try to call out for Jesus but I can't speak. These dreams are so terrifying to me. One dream that I had I was awake but still asleep and these demons were just scaring me really bad and I just thought that I would start singing in my sleep the song Our Father Which Art In Heaven and you would not believe that all of the sudden I felt like I was floating up and I saw all around me like a white cloud. I was still singing that song and all of the sudden I heard many voices singing it with me in a harmony that I can't even explain and the music was very different than I've ever heard. I felt such peace from this dream like angels were singing with me. Then I woke up. I don't suffer as much with these dreams as I used to. I get them about once a month. Most of the time when I do have one It is very hard for me to speak to call out to Jesus. Once I can say Jesus's name I wake up. What else could I do?

I have had something similar happen to me off and on my whole life also, except I never have seen any demons or feel any type of squeezing sensation. My experience with this type thing is, I can be half-asleep, trying to get into a deep sleep and all the sudden I feel like I can't move. That I'm just numb and all the while that this is happening, I'm trying my best to call out to my husband, scream or move in some way or another and I can't. I can even see myself at times struggling to try to move and scream or nudge my husband. When I see myself in this struggle trying to scream or move, I always think I am doing so, but I finally wake up and realize that I'm not doing any of it at all. I usually have my eyes open the whole time this is happening. It is really frightening and I always wake up scared to death. This is something that hasn't happened to me for a few years now though and I thank God for that.

I have had this happen to me a lot in the past the same as you both describe.I found if i stopped drinking sugary drinks or coffie late at night it doesnt happen to me.its a very scary thing to go through and im glad it hasnt happened to me for a long time and i hope it never happens again

I suffered this an awful lot before I became a Believer...the worst was when a pack of demonic wolves chased me up a tree and then started to climb up.

Nowadays I occasionally get them but no where near the same intensity...and my wife can hear me groaning in my sleep and wakes me up...I usually pray in tongues for a bit then go back to sleep.

these are strange dreams....I have had them like that...like someone is laying on top of me and crushing me...I can't talk either or move...I just start repeating Jesus' name over and over again in my mind...one night when I did that I felt like all of a sudden I was being drug around the room...and I mean drug up a wall to the ceiling and then through the door to our master bath...as I was being drug through the door I finally woke up...but it seems so real that I actually looked for bruises the next day :suspect: I heard a rumbling in my ears too kind of like a train really close by. I never seen any forms or shapes. Haven't had one of these for a long time though....Praise God for that.

It has happened to me off and on since I was about 18. It is usually out of the blue. It is absolutely terrifying to see that black, evil shape or just to know they're there (demons). I would say the Lord's Prayer to scare them away but the last few times that didn't really work either (I think I was so terrified that my faith wavered) so I prayed for God to send angels or have my guardian angel keep them away. It hasn't happened to me for over 3 yrs now but it happened to my wife one time 3 yrs ago and then again about 6 weeks ago. I think she is "surprised", she believes in God but is not the "religious fanatic" that I am.

If I wake up during the night now-a-days I find myself automatically saying the Jesus Prayer over and over and occasionally the Hail Mary. I think you can also put little crosses on your windows or doorways and that is suppose to give added protection from these *things*. They don't like the sign of the Cross.

I too have had these things happen. Being almost asleep yet not, and then being paralyzed for a few minutes. Once I even felt something pushing against my back, something very big and strong.

I asked my Doctor about these recurring episodes and he said they were totally normal, that almost everyone experiences them at some time or times. He is a Christian M.D. and said it has nothing to do with demons. It had technical name I can
