How is your spiritual walk today?

DId you get up this morning and read, and pray? Are you doing well spiritually? Going to church, sitting in the pew, saying hello to the church members, the pastor, and the visitors? Have you given out your status quo of tracts this past week? Have you spent some time in prayer in each? Have you done your best not to argue with your parents, or spouse, or be angry with your children? Have you done your best to treat people right? Have you been listening in the messages, a faithful church member? Maybe a choice member, a sunday school teacher, a children's or nursery worker, maybe just a layman or laywoman in the pews?

If you answered yes to most of these, that's great, but how's your walk?

We've heard the messages from Eph 2:8-9 that we were saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves, we are no longer under that law, and we are saved by God's grace, praise God!! We dont' have any merit to get ourselves to heaven, and it's only by Christ's blood. We can't even claim a prayer. Praise the Lord :noidea:

But Christian, how is your walk?

We don't smoke or chew, or hang with the girls that do.... but Christian, how's your walk?

We aren't legalists about the Sabbath day, we don't commit murder, we sit in our pews with a smile on our face. We don't use filthy words, or try not to at least. We try to do the best we can to be right according to God's word. We try to be honest in our finances, give some money in the offering plate, sing the songs and hymns with our hearts. But Christian... how is your walk?

There are too many Christians focused on the do's and don't, and the right's and wrongs of the Christian life, that they miss the God of the Bible. There are poeple who can quote scripture after scripture, quote entire books even. They know great volumes about God and his word, the Greek, the Hebrew, the Latin, the theologies and philosophies. They know "all there is to know" about God, but they missed the Creator.

The Christian life is not about knowing about God, the Christian life is about WALKING with God... as we draw closer to God, walk with him daily, allow him to lead us in the spirit, He personally will draw us away from the world. It's not from the world, to God, but to God, from the world.

Romans 12:2 says that we are transformed, by not drinking? no. Not smoking? No. Not cursing? No. Going to church? No, though that can be a part of it. No, we are transformed by the renewing of our mind- it is God who changes our hearts and our desires as we draw closer to him, he draws us from the world. It doesn't matter much of a lick how many good things you do, how many bad things you don't do, if you aren't walking with God. Our righteousness is as filthy rags.

It's about walking with the Lord... it's about talking with him daily. That's why the Bible says praying without ceasing... we shoudl be in fellowship with our Lrod throughout the day.

I'm stunned by the thought that the Creator God.... wants to talk to me. Did you know that the Creator God, the God who created the universe, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Joseph... He's the God that is alive today and is calling for you! He longs to hear your voice. He's *crazy* about you, as my spiritual mom would say. He wants to hear your voice, he wants to hear about your day, he wants you to reverence and worship him, spend time with him.

The rest of the thigns will come, out of a desire from the heart that he works in your. It's a miraculous thing, and the greatest mystery of the Bible that God pursues us when we run. He pursues us and he loves us, he is calling us home saying "You are my one true love. I'll take you back if you just come to me".

Like a Father with arms open wide, he longs to speak with his children.... He isn't a God who longs to see us punished, or a God who laughs in our despair... He wants to bless us, and use us.... but he wants us to talk to Him. He wants to have sweet fellowship with us.

Christian.... are you working, doing what you can to be "spiritual", or are you walking with the Lord?

Christian, how's your walk?

:noidea: You have a very good understanding about the desire to live the teachings rather than memorize them.

I think your point is ultimately going to be the deciding factor in the end. People are going to feel everything that they thought they knew and see that their perception was wrong.

Great topic to share, hope others look at their lives as to their walk!

This has been hitting so close to him.. I've lived the past ten years "under the law" and still at least partially today. The Lord had to show me that it's about pleasing Him, and not doing those things which grieve him.. it's about walking with him, now how "spiritual" we are. I want so many Christians to see that... it's wasting so much time trying to be "spiritual" according to the law, when it's the law that condemns us...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
