I guess being a Bible-believing Christian, I should not be surprised when persecution like this happens, still sometimes I just can't fathom the hatred.

I truly believe the extreme hatred leveled at President Bush is a result of how open he was about his Christian faith. And now they are turning this towards Sarah Palin. May God somehow use this for His glory!

well... Someone tried to burn down Palin's church.

I wonder if it was because Governor Palin attends the church or ........ just because it's a church? Satan's minions will continue to do these things until God renders his final judgement.

Possible cause?

It could have been the "Palin connection."

It also could have been the Love Won Out Conference the church hosted (there are[/] a lot of militant homosexuals out there that don't like the message that one can be delivered from homosexuality).

It could have been something else, since it's been a couple months since the election.

But I agree, it is best to pray for God's glory through this than to be angry at the lost-soul-bound-to-sin-who-needs-Jesus.

sadly it is not just the non-Christian that at time show hatred.

as for Pres Bush....

Interviewer Cynthia McFadden asked Bush if the Bible was literally true.

instead of quoting what some interviewer said he stated, (and let's face it, published interviews are never 100% accurate) why not pick up a copy of "a man of faith" and read some of his actual quotes. you know, quotes like this:

Actually, Lady C., those quotes are from a t.v. interview on NightLine. Mr. Bush spoke those words with his own mouth so....there's no misquoting here. I was very disappointed that he would say these things, as I'm sure many were.

and are they quoted here in context? possibly, but not likely. every person on this board is well familiar with how the media spins what someone says. everything gets edited before being aired or published.

we all know that a president has to be careful how he words things so that they do not promote one religion over another. i think it would be wise for people to take what he says publically in office with a grain of salt and dig a little deeper to find what he has said PRIVATELY about God, Christ, and religion.

i think the quote about having accepted CHRIST as his lord and savior is far more telling than than what was quoted above, don't you?
