I am a serious backslider and I need help. I don't know the last time I went to church (maybe it was after 9/11) Well last night I had a dream in which I was fighting witches and then I suddenly found myself on the phone with somebody. I found my self saying I want to make a deal then the person on the other end asked me "you want to make a deal with me" then I said yes. I soon as I realised this my mind told me I had been talking to the devil then I woke up terrified. I immediately prayed to God and Jesus. I now feel awful thinking I may have made a horrible deal with the devil in my dream. Can someone ploase let me know if dreams mean anything at all. I recall a verse in the bible sing dreams and visions have no significance? I'm going to church this Sunday to try and reconnect with God again. Please help me and give your opinions on this. I feel awful right now...

First, welcome to Worthyboards Autismom!

First, let me say this - dreams don't always mean something. This one could be a wake up call or a big supper the night before. Regardless, you DO need to submit to God. You don't have to go to church to do that sis. You can do that whereever you are, right now. You go before Him in prayer, and tell Him what is honestly in your heart. Now, I'm certainly not telling you not to go to church, because I do think that you get a lot of good fellowship there. But don't wait for church. Do it now. Next, get back into the word. Read your bible often. Pray often. And fellowship here with other believers.

And yes, I will pray for you. Remember, God will not leave you, nor forsake you. He is still there waiting for you.

Hello Autismom,

Let me also Welcome you to the boards!

I don't believe that you can "make a deal with the devil" in your dreams. I believe that one must be conscience to make a choice. But I do think that perhaps your dream was a wake up call.

Whatever it was, you have now become aware of your need to get your heart right with God. Trav is right, you don't need to go to church to do that. Call upon the Lord and He WILL hear you. Confess your sin and turn away from that to Christ.

Church is a wonderful place to go to help you grow in the Lord and to make Christian friends that will encourage you and help you along the way.

You are also welcome here. There are some wonderful people who will pray with you and listen when you need a friend.

Traveller is 100% correct. Don't wait until Sunday to reconnect with the Lord. Do it right now! A very wise person said once, "The difference between your problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor."

Let me tell you from personal experience- Satan will attack you anywhere- especially in your dreams. Before I was born again I cussed like a sailor- after I made God 1# priority, He stopped the cussing. I didn't even think of a cuss word! I was so excited! But very soon after, I would have dreams of me cussing like crazy again, and I would wake up repenting! God knows your heart- He knows if it's your thoughts or Satans. He's such a conniving sneak, isn't he (Satan, that is)!

Be careful of the state your are in- lukewarm.

I'm not judging you, but strictly going by your post, so please don't get offended. That is not my intention! :t2: Pray for the Holy Spirit to lay a conviction on your life. He consistently convicted me for over 2 years, and I ignored it, until I saw The Passion of the Christ. Before the movie, I asked for God to give me what I needed out of it. And He certainly did! I can honestly say for the first time in my entire life, if I died tonight, I KNOW I would go to Heaven. No doubt! Keep praying and the Lord will show you what to do. I'll pray for you! :rofl:

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
