You make the same mistake that Mark makes, you claim things as fact when they are not. To say something is a transitional fossil is not a fact, it is one view of the evidence.1 point

~ True It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 False For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. More hype than fact. I wouldn't worry about it yet. The day may come, but it is not today. The basis of this story I beleive you will discover in the following articles: http://www.lifenews.com/2013/07/12/homeland-security-secretary-napolitano-to-resign-called-pro-lifers-terrorists/ http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/apr/16/napolitano-stands-rightwing-extremism/?page=all Basically it is about a report on right wing extremism, and Napalitano considers veterans and pro-lifers to have potential for right wing extremism. You have to admit, when a pro-lifer shoots up or bombs an abortion clinic, they ARE a terrorist.1 point

I only asked that they admit that they have a religious assumption. Any chance you will admit you don't have proof that the earth is only 6000 years old? None at all. Any chance that you will admit that you do not have a single fact, not based on a religious assumption, of anything older than 6,000 years. Any chance that you will admit that you have a religious assumption in how you approach determining origins. Any chance that you will admit that the teaching of evolution from atoms to mankind and long ages of the universe in public schools violates the establishment clause of the US constitution. Any chance that you will admit that of the other questions that I asked you do not have an answer. I never made any of those claims so I have nothing to admit. Now, you have made a claim about the age of the earth, and you now refuse to support it or to withdraw it. Why do you ask others to do something that you refuse to do?1 point

http://s30.photobucket.com/user/otherone999/media/Intro_to_Christ_21_zps59651009.mp4.html a short video showing Steve Harvey, a comedian, addressing a secular audience. It's hard to imagine that this is a comedian and not a preacher, and this is an audience... And not a congregation. It must have been at the end of his routine, because...well, you will see.1 point

In point of fact, the Bible indicates clearly which city and nation will host satan's power. Rev. 2:12-13 states that Pergamun is the throne of satan. If you guessed that Pergamun is in the modern state of Turkey you guessed correctly. Don't believe me? Look it up, pilgrim. the throne of Satan has moved to Germany thanks to Hitler who Satan seemed to be his controlling factor. 'Has moved' or 'had moved'? Hitler is dead and buried now. Nothing in the Bible suggests that the throne of Satan moves to Germany. Hitler may have been an anti-Christ, but there have been many anti-Christs. Surely you're not suggesting that the throne of Satan keeps moving around every time there is an anti-Christ, and even if it does, then it won't be in Germany now because the Nazi regime is gone. That part of the bible is being written to a group of people and really isn't speaking of the antichrist. However if you are looking for that throne of Satan today, ti resides in Berlin, Germany. Pergamon at the writing of Revelation and that message to the church there did have the throne. I would ask if you really beleive the message to the church in Rev, chapter 2 is intended for a church there today. There is nothing left there but ruins, I am told. Only partly correct. The facade of the temple was built in Berlin during Hitler's design period. Additionally the altar of Zeus was moved to the same location from Turkey. Hitler was a frustrated architect and had grandiose designs for rebuilding the capital. Unfortunately one cannot make war and building projects at the same time and Adolph ended up causing the destruction of the city instead of its remodeling. Both the facade and the altar survived the bombing and the Russian occupation when almost everything else in the town was blown to smithereens. Curious. My point in quoting the Revelations passage, as well as stating the history lesson was to refocus attention away from 19th & 20th century interpretations of the European domination of end times prophecy. Neither Europe nor America nor the boot of Italy will be creating international policy in those days. At present Europe is a secular continent with little or no interest expressed in religious terms outside of the Vatican. The EU is floundering in financial difficulty and political instability. The British Conservative Party wants to secede from the EU, Scotland wants to secede from UK and Germany is nervous about being left holding the bag. It's not exactly a status quo situation. Do not look there for religious guidance in the future. America is rapidly following suite and although churches in the United States still seem to be holding their own against the tide of secularism the political edge they've enjoyed for decades is eroding much more quickly than they realize. The USA is becoming a nation increasingly opposed to Christian influence if not genuinely hostile toward it. Although loudly proclaimed to be out of financial danger, the leadership of the US knows America is far from resting on solid financial ground. There are also disturbing indications that the vaunted military may not be as healthy and combat ready as it once was. Do not look for religious guidance from America in the future. That leaves the Levant as the center of religious, financial, political and military turmoil for years to come. This comes as no surprise I'm sure, but to one who wishes to follow international developments it is wise to consider Turkey. For most of history since Jesus of Nazareth walked the earth, the Turks have had a significant impact on events and policy there. Today Turkey is growing in what some believe to be Islamic radicalism. Still some way from that point, there is a definite trend to be observed. Erdogan intends to lead Turkey toward the twelfth caliphate and only his inner circle can tell what role he'd like to play in it. Turkey wants to lead and the fact that it is economically viable and politically stable seems to be encouraging them to do what they want - seize the brass ring of Islamic leadership. The question remains to be asked, what happens if they get what they want? As the prophet said, we shall see. But it is important for the rest of us to know where to look. and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...1 point

I'm sorry you gather that from my post, as far as the point I believe you're referring to is the fact that gays are trying to rewrite laws as well as the bible. If you don't consider that an assault on the bible as well as Christianity or Gods view of right from wrong then I suppose we simply disagree. As a matter of fact I explicitly pointed out that gays should not be viewed as and resolved as a group but as individuals, I would think that a comforting statement to pro homosexuals, At lest that was my intent in my opening statements. I believe God will deal with each person be they gay or straight based on the condition of the heart and what they truly know. As well as how they responded to the HS I sugest you read a bit about Walt Wink as well as the new Queen James bible, anyone that doesn't see the effect legilation favoring gays has and will have on the church is simply living under a rock "doesn't watch current events"1 point

Of course. For many who are prone to lust, clothing isn't even an issue. All they need is a focal point and their imagination does the rest.1 point

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding I was baptized in Greg's church in 1979 at age 21, when he was still in the small chapel, He was giving something like 6 Sunday services to accommodate the over flow, and shortly after they began building the chapel next door. My statement My comment was the potential results with associating yourself with another organization, you may not have a problem with the Gram organization squashing the Mormon as a cult church a month before the election but I do. Now what's that going to do for Greg's message when Franklin is partnered with him at the next Harvest crusade? Billy Gram was founded as an Evangelist same as Greg it's no wounder that the Gram Asst gravitates towards the successful evangelist today JMO. The only thing that never made sense as a young bible gulping christian was the pre trib rapture. It's taught in all the CC that I know of and Chuck and Hale Lindsey have known each other for years. It not a matter of salvation or a salvation breaker but it does effect the way people read the bible especially the NT. I personally belive the 70th week of Daniel was fulfilled and that Dan 9:27 is speaking of Christ not the anti-christ.1 point

Actually, Bo, the issue of women needing to be modest was never in question with this article. Again, here was the point: She commented that she would gladly dress more modestly out of love and concern for her brothers in Christ, but there seemed to be no corresponding “rehabilitation” required for these men who, apparently, struggled with lust. As our friend pointed out, there is a glaring inconsistency in the church, one that allows men to make judgments about the modesty of women without confessing and repenting of their own complicit lust in the process.1 point

Funnily enough, I can guess that those deemed as 'parasites' will probably be productive enough. I bet you that some of these 'parasites' will simply be called parasites because they don't wish to follow the political agenda. A bit like Hitler's Germany where the Jews were named as parasites but yet were more hard-working and productive than most people.1 point

Great topic and very good discussion. I have struggled with this my entire adult (and even before) life. I am knocking on 50 and I just now feel I am starting to get it under control. Lets just say I am a very visual person. there has been many good points made in this thread and some of them I agree with totally. First, for men that struggle with this, it truly does not matter what the woman is wearing, we will still look and stare. This is not the fault of the woman, but of the man doing the looking and thoughts. It is an insidious sin that can control a man if he is not careful. It has been a 35 year fight for me and I am just now feeling like I am starting to win it. In my younger days I had many vices, I was a smoker and was basically a drunk. I quit smoking cold turkey in 1996 and went a decade without drinking and just recently allowed my self to have one beer at night and have no desire to have more. Both of those habits were like child's play to break compared to the sin of lust, and there is no other word that fits. With that said, what a woman wears can have an effect on all men, not just those that struggle with this sin. A beautiful woman wearing the right (or is it wrong) clothing can turn the head of even the most devout man. I do believe this is something that a woman needs to keep in mind as she chooses her clothing.1 point

I would question whether these cretins themselves have a 'moral right to life' since they appear to be nonhuman. Maybe the world would benefit from applying their 'logic' to them? This is turning really sinister now. It's where genocide starts. What next, toddlers? Old people? People who have no value to the political goals of the state?1 point

Inside the Church it is good that both the man and the woman are accountable for lust and modesty. When a Christian man lusts for a scantily dressed secular woman the onus is fully upon the Christian man to act appropriately. 1 Corinthians 5:12 (KJV) 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? Matthew 5:16 (KJV) 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.1 point

I do not look for holiness here but in my heart in relation to The Lord I do ... outwardly I guard my eyes, I slip every once in awhile with repentance, but I wait for the clean place where sin has never been nor considered! I actually yearn for this place for I will be clean and you will be clean and God will be glorified Love, Steven1 point

No Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 Difference Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. John 6:47 See King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. Acts 26:27-28 And Salvation Is Personal Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Romans 3:27 For Only Jesus Saves Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25 You See1 point

That could be anyone in any church. My point was that anyone of the caliber of Billy Gram, that would remove Mormonism from there definition as a cult "from their website", to support a political candidate is serving two masters. Just my opinion, others will see it differently I'm sure. I've personally never meet the man, there partnership with Chuck Smith is through Greg L and Franklin G not Chuck S and Billy G. From the very beginning Greg had an anointing as an evangelist, he's not particularly a great "in depth" teacher. Because of this the Gram asst is rather bonded to the Calvary Chapel founded by Chuck and grown threw Greg. Chuck broke away from religious organizations to found one of the first non denominationals only to IMO in these latter years to fall back into organized religion. The only reason I mention it is because I know a little bit about the history and early founding of Calvary Chapel, at the time my mentor for lack of a better term chose Gregs church as a safe place to establish foundational biblical principles, I don't believe that has changed but Calvary was never intended to be a cradled to grave church, as the first churches were it's a birthing place.1 point

I have no respect for Gram since the last election. Anyone that would change there long held position on Mormonism for political gain doesn't get a second glance from me. And please I'm not simply focusing on the OP and Gram I know Chuck Smith and was baptized in Greg Laurie's church before it was a mega church. The associations developed years ago between these people needs to be reassessed, like Chuck and Hale Lindsy's long term friendship. Don't get me wrong I believe these people including Gram are born of the spirit but there no different than any one-else that strays away at times, that's the problem with being in the globe public eye, it makes it real hard or impossible for many to say, I made a mistake. And just what kind of message does this send to our secular friends? As well as those that like to mix politics with religion? Apparently many haven't learned the lesion of the law given to Moses. The church today is full of people that insist legislating more laws is the answer to poor morals. I know I'm stepping on a lot of toes here, but the truth isn't always the most popular message. http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/16/billy-grahams-group-removes-mormon-cult-reference-from-website-after-romney-meeting/ Funny how everyone is now talking about Nineveh isn't it.1 point

I got news for you, satan isnt working a "conspiracy" satan has declared all out war on us. Blatant, obvious, war. All those Jews had Moses and the prophets and The Old Law and before Jesus came to earth it was the way to heaven. Jesus was teaching they did not need the Old Law to get to heaven anymore they could come straight to Jesus now instead of continuing in the Old law; they rejected the new way i.e. ye receive not our witness.1 point
