  1. Hi Joco, i see your fully persuaded in your opinion as am I, but the use of scripture does not make proof of doctrine. Paul says we must rightly divide the word of God and study to show ourselves approved. I think you will agree if we either mishandle the word or have wrong study methods we will have wrong doctrine yet still be quoting scripture, just as the pharisee. Im not saying you are such, but i will say you have not changed my mind by the scriptures you use, and i dont choose to strive with anyone about Gods word. God bless.
  2. Brothers there will be no sabbaths to keep in heaven. The intention of a sabbath is to get man to come away from his labours to rest and to be taught of God through those He has annnointed for such. The sabbath is for man, and not man for the sabbath. God is not offended by what day is kept, but by its misuse or abuse. The sabbaths kept by the Jews were for them as a nation, but are not practical to be kept literally now that the gospel has gone out to all peoples. God knew this would be when He created the world large enough to have time zones. Furthermore the work of creation completed on the 6th day cannot be compared to the work of salvation and resurrection completed on the 7th day. The first is always superceeded by the latter. The work of creation is temporal, but the work of redemption is eternal. Christ knew it was not profitable or necessary to insist on the 1st day as a new day of worship, but it is clear that this day became the new focus of believers as they were led by the Holy Spirit to esteem the latter work over the earlier. This is backed up Acts 20:7, the general tenor of the Christ`s teachings, and the high esteem of what became known as the "Lords day" and also called " the queen of days" by 1st and 2nd century christians. But let us not destroy one another for whom Christ died for, on account of days and customs that will perish.
  3. Yes, we do ... Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Sorry i didnt mean had never sinned, i meant we are not told of her daily habits and thoughts. (Puts can opener back in draw and looks for worm container)
  4. The bible does not tell us if Mary sinned so we dont know.
  5. In the last days MANY will heed seducing spirits, of which the denial of NT as scripture is one of them.
  6. While there is no issue with what day a christian chooses to meet with others and rest from their weekly labour, Christians are to be led by the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit always goes by the spirit (intention) of the law and not the letter. The ressurection day was commonly known as the queen of all days and the disciples naturally held it in high reguard, and while continuing to meet in the synagouges to preach Christ, they also began to meet privately for intimate and free expression of their love to Christ and each other Acts 20:7. Contrary to the misguided opinion of some, Constatine did not make the change of day, he only ratified it to allow freedom of all to cease work without penalty. Before that christian slaves were bound by their owners disposition.
  7. Is it within TOS to post a 30 day revival devotional by Lance Wubbels? I am not the author. If so under what forum, upper room perhaps or ?. I thought id ask here rather than PM a mod, so others may learn the TOS answer
  8. It is very sad that such things happen, God grieves with us is sometimes the Holy Spirit in us greiving with us. Platitudes at funerals such as "God wanted them" are unhelpful and untrue. We live in a fallen world and we all have to go through the painful things that happen because of this. Like when we injure ourselves pain tells us something is wrong, so also this side of heaven, pain reminds us of our reality and need of God above all other things, We also have a speirtual enemy who stalks our families for access, to bring sickness, deformity, death and generational curses, so we need to stay close to God as a mother hen and her chicks. Gods will is that we should live threescore and ten years atleast, but the fall has brought much loss and pain with it. I hope this helps to heal and draw nearer to God than ever, then take action against your enemy Satan and his demons. Arthur.
  9. Steven I wont try to convince a man already fully convinced.
  10. Why does it seem impossible that God can remove all sin in this life? are not Elijah and Enoch in heaven in their earthly bodies having never died, yet we know no sin can enter heaven. Remember it is God who makes us holy and not ourselves lest any man boast.
  11. hi O, John is saying anyone who says they have never sinned is a liar, but the same power that raised Christ from the grave can just as easily circumcise our heart so that all sin is totally unattractive. That is not to say it is not possible under severe temptation to sin and need to run back to the Father for forgiveness and cleansing. Those that have been entirely sanctified live in entirely different plane than those who have not, John says "if we do sin", this is strong proof that for extended times atleast it is expected we will not sin, but i am confident that after Pentecost the Apostles did not sin, nor did more than a few others throughout history that believed God for His power to sanctify them instantaneously and completley. Paul said he was holy, just, blameless, without fault, having a clear connscience to have done all his duty before God and man, is this not also what Jesus did and claimed as sinlessness. But you will need to read the accounts and testimonies of those who claim the experience, as those that have not will tell you based on the traditions of man it is not possible. I for one have not yet, but still know it is promised to all believers. One word of caution, we are not to try to stop sinning, we are to believe God for Him to do it. Only faith is pleasing to God, all trust in our ability is odious and offensive to Him. Another hinderance to obtaining the promise is that many people call things sin, that God does not, such as temptation and thoughts that we do not act on. Although we are positionally without sin in Christ, God wants us to have His promises experientially as well. What good is apromise never recieved?
  12. Good post Neb its always good to remind ourselves that God wants mercy to triump over Judgement, but we can be sure there are times we must confront sin and even "deliver over to Satan for the destruction of flesh, that the soul may be saved. We cant control what others do, we can only control our reaction to them. If someone is judgemental they probably need our love, rebuking such a one may not the best result. John was known as the Apostle of love, Peter was somewhat more confrontational but both were living under the power of the Holy Spirit with their respective personalities. God doesnt remove our personality, He just tweaks it to bring it inline with His character. Those that are abit harsh need softening, those that are bit too soft need toughening up. Prov 28:20 "He who rebukes a man will find more favour afterward, than he who flatters with the tongue." Imo the sin that we are not to pray for is that that leads to reprobation, these are lost and cannot return. God would need to clearly reveal this, and reuire prayer that our heart be kept right toward them.
  13. There is a disconnect from logic in that position. We don't need God's instruction anymore? If we don't need it then wouldn't it be erased instead of written on our heart? Rather it seems, you are making a leap from logic to assumption. OC has not said we dont need Gods law (love) but that the foreshadows of things to come are now no longer needed as reminders since Christ has now come and the Holy Spirit given to all who will believe. The Holy Spirit tells us when we are not being loving, and these instructions when recieved are now written on the heart. Does the person who obeys from the heart need laws and cerimonies to do what they already love to do?
  14. Im not hinting at anything, my question is very direct. Yes or no please, if a fundamentalist has unforgiveness in their heart are they saved?
  15. Sorry but i dont see where i was speaking of being justified by the law? I only pointed out that not even claiming to be fundamentalist is proof of salvation. Is there a reason why you didnt answer my question?
  16. Amen brother sdktlk. When we have very little left, the best thing we can do is sow it back to God.
  17. Jesus said many things that even his disciples couldnt get, why do we today think all there is to know is on a platter. I think some people would do well to hide their ignorance by remaining silent and learning. I am sure Elisha`s directions to bath in muddy waters would stumble many today also. Sdktlk is offering inisight with a little digging, but some only want to know what they only know, time will reveal wisdom or not.
  18. I think i see where your coming from with that, but disagree somewhat. Call it semantics but the world does not teach love at all, it only teaches selfishness. Its not loving ourselves thats wrong, as it says love our neighbour as (much) as ourselves. This doesnt mean putting ourselves last imo, rather it means attending to our needs relative to the needs around us. If my need is greater than my neighbours then i would not be loving myself or my neighbour to attend his need. Isn't selfishness all about loving yourself too much? Perhaps but i dont think its called love when we are either over indulgent or fail to meet legitimate needs of ourselves and sometimes those around us. Love has the right balance in all things, "behold the goodness and severity of God". Put it another way, we are commanded to work to provide for our families, this is not putting ourselves last or ahead of our love towards God, it is taking into account the needs of all and doing whats most needed. But we can work too much or too little earning excesssively or deficient to meet our needs, both of these are wrong and unloving.

  20. I don't understand why you would narrow your statement down to fundamentalists. Are you saying that those who consider themselves to be fundamentalists are more likely not to be Christians at all? If so, I disagree. I think that those who are unable or unwilling to clearly state their beliefs are more likely not to be Christians at all. hi nChrist, i didnt mean to target fundamentalists, just reminding others that labels and beliefs dont nescessarily mean salvation. Jesus states that the deciding factor is obedience to his commands and that many will claim to be believers (saying Lord Lord) and yet will be found to be promoters of iniquity. Fundamentalist are perhaps less likely to be decieved, but i wouldnt say immune. Even belief in the 5 sola`s does not equate to salvation, belief must translate into true love for God and neighbour. Would you say the fundamentalist who believes yet has unforgiveness in their life is saved?
  21. Well then I'd suggest you start looking up several old ladies, cause all that I know have been praying for this country as i have myself and my not so old wife for a really long time. My guess is that's why God hasn't killed us all already. 2 Chron 7:14 is a promise from God, the conditions for recieving are more than just prayer. All i know is that those that have met the conditions did get revival.
  22. hi Littlelamb, be not alarmed that these things should take place. Christians are wise not to be involved in the affairs of this world, the kingdoms of this world will rise and fall will according to Gods will. Our focus is to have our planks (sins) removed and then pluck lost sinners from the flames.
  23. It's really sad that people don't recognize that. Sad too that so many say "Lord Lord" but are infact workers of iniquity, travelling over land and seas to make converts twice as lawless as themselves.
  24. IMO. The fear of the Lord is not so much what He can do if we disobey, but obeying because we love Him and dont want to miss any oportunity to love and be loved by Him. In Song of Songs the lover came knocking but the woman took her time, when she answered the door he was gone, she then wandered the streets lamenting and searching for him. Its more the fear of losing Him than it is punishment. There is much we can do if only we will live 2 Chron 7:14. It only took two praying old ladies to spark the revival in the New Hebredies. But yes these last days are perhaps beyond repair? Why would you ask God to pass judgement? Jonah feared God would embarrass him by not showing up with judgement, and he was right.
