  1. Wonderful! No, I am not being sarcastic, I really mean it. At the start of your story, you said she was lead by the Holy Spirit, that is key! She surrendered all to be led by God. Our nation is not all led by the Holy Spirit, and we do have laws, without enforcing these laws, all who don't care to be led by God will destroy our very society. I support the wall Trump speaks of, not to keep the poor from opportunity, but to enforce our laws we currently have. Speaking of poor, I as child of God offer far too little assistance to those in need. Question is, how do I be the best steward of what God has given me? Tear down my fence keeping the livestock inside my property lines? Open my doors to any and all to come and live there? Scripture tells us to give to any who is in need. How can I determine who is in need, and who just wants to receive as many handouts as they can instead of working?
  2. Simple wall to enforce laws. Should we tear down prison walls too? I kinda like having walls for my house.
  3. I barely remember the amnesty, I think I remember at least twice it happened, though I didn't pay any attention at the time. What do you mean it blew up in our faces? We can't deport everyone, nor should we. We should find a solution, as allowing so many people to remain in an illegal status is not good.
  4. Absolutely, even illegal immigrants are real people, not just a number. I expect there needs to be another amnesty program to allow those here already to become citizens. Even so, we still need strong borders to allow people to come here legally.
  5. Matthew Henry Commentary 45:5-10 There is no God beside Jehovah. There is nothing done without him. He makes peace, put here for all good; and creates evil, not the evil of sin, but the evil of punishment. He is the Author of all that is true, holy, good, or happy; and evil, error, and misery, came into the world by his permission, through the wilful apostacy of his creatures, but are restrained and overruled to his righteous purpose.
  6. Welcome Worth-1979!! Just say hi or tell us something about yourself, and your post count will be up there!
  7. Oh of course not! I was just thinking, thanks for your reply!
  8. This is interesting. I have read the arguments and generally have accepted that it can be wise to study the culture you wish to reach, yet I've never wanted to read the koran to learn what it says. Does one need to know all the lies to be able to tell the truth?
  9. Iran does pose a threat, and are intent on attacking Israel. As for Saudi Arabia, I don't understand why they are labeled as an ally of America, as very little research dispels this notion. I really don't understand the tone you are taking with your posts, is does sound combative as Onelight has pointed out. Are you angry with America or something?
  10. Thanks for your reply, I think maybe I'm confused as to what is being said about the OP, as the OP only stated Stanley is not a false teacher, which merely leads to a discussion.
  11. I think the point attempted to be made by several was that while many point out false teachers if they say one word that is out of line with scripture, yet they defend certain teachers as not being false teachers even though quotes are provided they have gone against scripture. I think the important thing here is to be careful in applying labels and maybe show a little grace towards those who do not fully agree with you.
  12. Best post in this thread, thanks OneLight. Anyone who ever speaks will say something wrong, except for Jesus when He spoke.
  13. Joe, I search through commentaries, through sermons of famous preachers of centuries past, through articles written by men attempting to expound scripture, etc. etc. Yet I am blessed the most by your examples given, examples of straightforward scripture, picked by a heart for God.
  14. Romans 5:18-19 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for fall men. 19 For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous From Gotquestions: To summarize the difference: mercy is God not punishing us as our sins deserve, and grace is God blessing us despite the fact that we do not deserve it. Mercy is deliverance from judgment. Grace is extending kindness to the unworthy.
  15. Psalm 107:14 He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.
  16. I will admit I have judged when it appears someone wants to look religious as a ploy. I doubt either of the Trumps would think a prayer would be viewed positively in the current climate we have in the U.S. I choose to hope that God is working in both Trump's hearts, and it is a sincere desire to have God's hand in their lives. I am also full of joy that the leader of the country shows respect to the one true God. I pray both the Trumps accept the gift of life from the finished work on the cross, if they have not already, and that their lives will bring glory to God. And may I have hope in God, that I will ever remember no one is too far, nor is God's arm too short, nor shall we hide our faith,
  17. I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy Down in my heart (Where?) Down in my heart (Where?) Down in my heart
  18. It doesn't sound like Trump wants to round up and deport large numbers of illegals. Mostly concerned with the criminal element. I expect another amnesty program sooner or later. Headlines can be deceiving.

  20. 2 Cor 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. Excellent thread, Marilyn!
  21. Is sickness or disease a created thing, or are they things made perfect by God degenerating due to sin entering the world? In other words, is departing from God's perfect will, creating something new, or just simply departing from God's perfection.
  22. Eph 6:7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: This is missing. My heart, my attitude, is broken. The Good Lord has me up every morning at 3, now at 2 am, waking me in prayer, and teaching me what is broken, yet I have no strength to do better. Lord, I need you to change this in me, I have no strength of my own. It is God who interrupts my repetition of things in the mire and clay. I have been lifted out of the mire and the clay, yet all I do is nothing but temporal. Even standing on the rock, I find my heart lacking. My obedience lacking. God help me. I have trusted in the security of my job, instead of my rock, I repent, help my unbelief Lord.
  23. Those in each separate branch don't seem to see the separation of powers as they were intended.
  24. I have read a few liberal articles claiming there is no money to build a wall!
