  1. Does this apply to self, or to all others also? Scripture teaches us to give respect to others. I wonder if this means respect is given, not earned? Now, separately, as God is worthy of respect, I don't know if it can be said He has earned respect, wouldn't it be more accurate to say He is worthy of respect? At any rate, you brought up the very reason I posted this subject. I have been trained to try to earn respect, and also to give respect to those who deserve it. Scripture seems to disagree with my training.
  2. Is there a wall in store for those yearly dollar contributions?
  3. If we don't let the terrorists into America, they will be terrorists? Hmmm.
  4. When I was 12, I was a charter member of a baptist church starting up, and we met at the roller rink. I love going to church, but the building has nothing to do with it. Shiloh, don't you think we've got the great commission a little off when we pour so much money into a building, when we should be pouring the money into either spreading the gospel, or even just feeding the hungry? I can't help but feel God could care less about the building we meet in, when so many are hungry. Its not the outside of the cup that needs to be cleansed.
  5. https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-respect.html Answer: The apostle Peter summarizes the Bible’s teaching on respect in his first Epistle: “Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king” (1 Peter 2:17). This passage encompasses four major areas of our lives, teaching us that, as followers of Christ, we should respect all men, other Christians, God, and governmental authorities. The word respect is a translation of the Greek word timēsate, meaning “honor or value.” It literally means “to place a great value or high price on something.”
  6. What good is only limiting yourself to talking to people who agree with you? I value Brother Oots, and while I disagree at times, I also value his input, as he makes me think. Even if you can see his responses, there is no reason you couldn't avoid reading them. There is much I see in the world I dislike seeing, but I don't think I'll walk around with my eyes shut all day!
  7. Takes a lot longer to tunnel than to walk across the border!
  8. There is a saying, "respect is earned" Is that biblically supported or disproven?
  9. That is a huge factor, in addition to security and law and order. The money we spend on illegals in this country, or to move then back over the border is huge. Use that money to help build the wall.

  11. Depends where you live.
  12. That's funny!
  13. I don't understand why it's even a criticism as if trump has no right to protect America. Years ago it seemed we expected our officials to protect us. Now it's promoted even as biblical to accept all foreigners. No it's not, a guy walking past your house in peace, go ahead. A large group who tell us they want to kill us, shut the border.
  14. Is it a right or a privilege to travel to other countries? I've heard occasions where Americans are stopped at borders of other countries and turned away. Do other countries have more rights than the US?
  15. Yeah but the naysayers don't know if they should criticize trump for moving too fast or allege he isn't doing anything substantial. So they criticize him for both!

Having read a little about the begetting, and how sometimes a generation was skipped between grandfather and grandson in recording genealogies, I too have wondered how the 6,000 years could be accurately calculated. Still, the theory that the 6 days with the 7th day of rest corresponding to 6,000 years with the last 1,000 years of Jesus rule does seem plausible, even if only conjecture. Any thoughts?
  18. Are you saying the doomsday is coming, and God is in charge of it, not the evil Trump? Every time the end of the world is to be blamed on some person or movement, I think it sounds a lot like when someone tries to say the Jews murdered Jesus, its their fault. Totally missing the mark with accusations like that. Yes, God holds the time clock.
  19. Well, has there ever been a time in recorded history that the world has not been preparing for war?
  20. With all the protests, marches, speeches, dissenters, out there now, and look! Pence is speaking for something positive! Life! I like the source the link leads too also!
  21. If only we had elected trump to be our religious leader. If only Christians learned attacking and condemning words are spoken from the heart.
  22. "used by the liberal left" Propaganda.
  23. Lol. Maybe he was carrying the Adams family thing. I really want to know how they knew he had a machine gun
  24. Yes, I've been reading here many years, and lately it seems there is more negative posting, even from myself. I'd like to see more posting of hope, good news, redemption,
  25. Yes, and thankfully, they can be redeemed by the blood of Jesus, just as we all can be redeemed of our sins. In all the pain we see and endure, there is something good to point out.
