It seems something is missing from such reasoning. Before Adam and Eve sinned, there was no record of death. Yet, after they sinned, we see death in plants, animals, and people. Do plants and animals all sin, resulting in death? Scripture states that Jesus grew up, as in He aged, I see no reason to think any deeper on this. As Jesus did take on our sins to redeem us, yet He always has and always will live forever.

Thanks, I know I've heard the "in His image" discussion using the analogy, just asking how it is viewed by others here.

Perspective. Trump says a lot and all agree he shouldn't, but it's reported over and over how awful. Others actually perform evil deeds even with Russia and its ignored. Consequence vs no consequence all to be misleading. -

How can one be eternally saved, then lost by works, when works were never good enough to save in the first place? Place your trust in the redeeming power of the blood, not self.

Psalms 33:9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue” I am interested if anyone has something to say about the implications of this verse.

So many threads here on works vs grace. Acts 16:30-31 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Now, there is the verse that states even the devil believes in Jesus, so there obviously are qualifications to this verse, yet if one is asking what can they do to be saved, this verse and others show only faith will save. The fact that someone is asking how, I believe, shows they are sincere, though I'm not sure it shows any remorse or repentance. Even after being saved, there is the battle between flesh and spirit, so I'm interested in why so many are quick to judge someones salvation by looking at their failures in the war of flesh and spirit? John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. No works there, faith brings eternal life, passes from death into life, no scare tactic that one might lose salvation in this promise! John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies,

I can't argue that this is not good advice, for scripture does tell us to ask for wisdom, and use wisdom, and stand guard. I think the overriding thought is I stand guarded too much, and that is trusting in myself to protect me, not trusting God to protect me. If God is for us, why do so many put walls up to protect themselves, when these walls are actually destructive. I believe I can and should choose not to be offended, only I have not accomplished it yet, and even though I have failed, God works in us.

While I like the scorpion example, and have heard it told several times, I think back to reading about Paul, bondservant to Jesus Christ, out preaching, being beaten, left for dead, yet ever preaching more. If anyone was trampled over, it would be Paul, with stones, fists, etc. His only protection was to trust God. I could be wrong about what I am saying, but something has been going on in me these last few weeks and am trying to find the way.

What is free will really, what does it mean to have free will?

My translation skills are lacking, but I'll try!!! God is the God of the living. God created man in His image. God requires each to be responsible for their own choice. God's Word states that He has foreknowledge of who will choose Him. We are to stand on scripture and not apply man's logic to that which is not stated. I think I missed some points in there but this is how far I got! -

"If God wants all to come, and is able to make that happen, yet it does not happen, then does it not stand to reason, that He chooses for it not to happen? As Paul asked: "For who can resist His will?" It is a rhetorical question to which the obvious answer is "no one can resist God's will!" Nothing can happen, that God has not allowed." Certainly no one could resist God. Yet if He chooses to call every sinner as He desires all to come to Him, why could God not let each sinner choose after calling them, thereby allowing free will at that point? -

I did check it out, and while I can see your thought process is a possibility, and I already confessed that I seem to cherry pick verses that agree with my opinion, and several of the verses you supplied I do want to brush off, it also seems you pick and choose what you agree with, though you have studied much more than I, and can encompass much more thought and scripture than I without getting lost in the forest. I'm slightly too deep in the forest and will have to see if my head will clear up later, thanks again mega! -

I agree, scripture does state that no one seeks God, so therefore He must call us first, yet you are saying He does not call all, therefore it is His will for some to remain lost. I still disagree with that logic, as scripture states He desires ALL to come to Him, so if there is no free will-(after being called, sought after, desired by God), then what could be the point of evangelizing? If no one can resist God, and He has already chosen who will come to Him? In our previous conversation, some time ago, I stated that when I first talked to God, and really heard Him, I felt like I could not choose to resist Him, as I wanted the light, and was unable to find it myself, I needed Him. Yet, I must base truth on scripture, not what I think I experienced. Scripture states God desires all to come to Him, yet He does not make us come to Him, as some are lost. There must be some choice on our part, after God puts in our hearts the desire to come to Him.
