Interesting. . . Though I do not see how this exert of history proves your conclusion, the only derived implication found is your opinion. So I would be interested in your scriptural reasoning behind this. As for Jesus Christ: if you believe the bible, then you must believe that Jesus in fact was there with God in the creation of the earth, not only does John 1 inform us of Him being there, but goes as far as saying the word WAS God. Not meaning "was" as an past-tense, but that Jesus is in fact God in the flesh. Considering the bolded statement, where is the scripture for that? As I pointed out in John 1, it explains that the Word [Jesus] was there with God, not in His "bosom" as you explain. As OneLight pointed out, that is not scriptural, therefore is rejected. So I absolutely need a further reasoning and SCRIPTURAL, based response, that would be much appreciated, thank you and God bless you! -

How do you find this wonderful? It is what Christ would have done. Christ ate with the low lifes to show him that salvation was available even to them. What is the Gospel? The Good News, that ANYONE can be saved. Oh! In that aspect I 100% agree the part I had a problem with is "he [the pope] called for the church and the West in general to "intensify" relations with the Muslim world." Instead of "forming relations" they need to be spreading the good news, granted you want to keep them close and accepted, but you do not want to be at the point of "acceptance" rather than deliverance. -

I think food is a big one. I know for me it is. You say grace, but how often do you really thank God for it? I have been trying to make sure to count my blessings each and everyday, of course I fail miserably at doing so on a day to day basis, but I have been making a conscious effort to do so. Last Wednesday I was at bible study. People bring food, lots of snacks, goodies etc. People just waiting to dig in! We said grace, thanked God for the food etc. Everyone went up grabbed some food, some treats etc, sat back in their seat, and we continued with the bible study. We have been following "The Bible" we watch it, comment about it, and read the given scriptures. Half way through that process a couple walks in. You can tell by their eyes and their appearance that they have not eaten in a while and came off the streets. They asked if they could join, of course everyone welcomed them and told them to grab some food. Their first words were thanking God because they were so hungry, they had been on the streets for some time pleading and begging God to feed them. They said it was a miracle, a blessing and the power of prayer and God that brought them through and got them the food they needed for that day. So many people are out there like that living literally on a day to day basis not knowing where their next meal will come from. The couple trusted in God and their needs were met and also sufficient. They were given food to take with them, and we also prayed over them. In conclusion I believe that this is a very big one. Food is something we constantly consume, something that is alot of the times on our minds, but how often do we stop to feed those who go without. If you are reading this, with this I also ask that you pray for Marcus and his wife, that God continues to take care of them. Thank you and God bless!

~Exodus and the Passover of the Lamb!~ Moses was brought up by God, delivering the Israelite's in the name of the Lord he typified Christ in setting the captives free and leading them into deliverance. In the same manner as Christ, Moses was also destined to death from the mere beginning! (Exodus 1:15-16) We then find another relation to Christ when in Hebrews 11:24, it speaks of Moses laying down His name to become like the oppressed children of God. And Christ did this very thing! Jesus came down from His throne and became poor, bruised for our iniquities, He modeled the way of life that we should live, and soon died for this cause, this great love, to set us free! Rejection as the Deliverer Exodus 2:11-14 "11 Now it came about in those days, when Moses had grown up, that he went out to his brethren and looked on their [a]hard labors; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. 12 So he [b]looked this way and that, and when he saw there was no one around, he struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 He went out the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were [c]fighting with each other; and he said to the [d]offender, “Why are you striking your companion?” 14 But he said, “Who made you a [e]prince or a judge over us? Are you [f]intending to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said, “Surely the matter has become known.” Moses thought in this manner, that he was doing good! Having rescued the Hebrew, he believed they would look upon him in a good manner BUT he was instead looked down upon for this killing, telling him that he is in no such way to be an accuser. Of course, this rejection is only a small picture of the one who came to deliver Israel 1500 years later. Their reaction to Jesus then was far worse. But could you imagine, having set aside the "great name" of a heir, to be in the likeness of them, being called out? Puts a lot into perspective of Christ! ~Heard and Sent!~ Exodus 2:24-25 "So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.’" Exodus 3:7-10 "‘And the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings.“ So I have come down to deliver them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey… I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them. “Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” God heard the groaning's of the Israelite' and remembered His promise given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. With this, he heeded their cry and made the proclamation of setting them free! We see this not only here in the present tense, but also in a futuristic sense, in the coming of the Messiah! (Romans 11:26-28) ~Gods Judgement laid upon the Pharaoh!~ Exodus 7:2-5 ‘You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelite's out of it." Before deliverance, there had to come judgement. They had to know that there was only One true God Almighty- like Jesus, Moses had to first break the traditions, with that came miracles. We then come to the Plagues, which are prophecy to the Last days! 1st Plague – Nile turned to blood (Ex 7:14-24 compare with Rev 8.8, 16.4) 5th Plague – Disease (Ex 9:1-7 compare with the pestilence in Rev 6:8) 6th Plague – Boils (Ex 9:8-12 compare with Rev 16:2,11) 7th Plague – Hail (Ex 9:13-35 compare with Rev 8:7, 16:21) 9th Plague – Darkness (Ex 10:21-29 compare with Rev 8:12, 16:10) 10th Plague – Death (Ex 11:1-12 compare with Rev 6:8, 9:15) Just as His name was to be glorified in the days and trials of Moses, so shall it be done and known in the Last days. There will be no distinction, the Lord of all the Earth will make Himself known! ~The Heart of the Pharaoh~ Exodus 8:13,30-32 ‘"But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.’… Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD, and the LORD did what Moses asked: The flies left Pharaoh and his officials and his people; not a fly remained. But this time also Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let the people go." People are constantly stuck on this. . asking "Why did God harden Pharaohs heart?" I believe 2 Thessalonians clears this up! 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 ‘"The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness." So, we come to find out this very truth! The same delusion they are stuck in, God allows this shadow of doubt to continue to flow over them. The Pharaoh delighted in holding the Israelite's captive and we find early on in Exodus that he dealt with them harshly with "rigor." Which basically means he treated them horribly. This same "rigor" blinded Pharaoh and in the days that God blinded him, this delusion continued to be his truth. ~Hosanna and the song sung of Moses!~ Exodus 15:1-3 ‘"Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD: “I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name." Then we look to Revelations! Revelation 15:2-3 "‘And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb."’ And the song declaring God's greatness in the return of the Lamb, will once, be sung! Most, if not all of these most if not all of you already know about. But is something that has really interested me. So, I thought it would be kewl to look for the "signs of the messiah" in scriptures and share my thoughts in the hopes of Glorifying God and blessing others in His name. . . I would like to thank Hippie for the inspiration and the site : http://www.jesusplusnothing.com/jesus66books.htm and most of all our Awesome God! So lets Begin! ~Genesis: The Seed of the Woman- Since The Beginning!~ Seed and Need In the book of Genesis we quickly see not only the NEED of a Savior, but the foretold prophecy of His coming! God created mankind, sin entered His creation and brought with it death and deterioration; but the Lord, by His love and Wisdom made provisions for the eradication of sin and with His own blood and body, dwelt among us, to redeem us from our sinful nature, and since the beginning did Redemption in the Messiah sing! In Genesis 1:1 we see Jesus, for by Him we know that all things were made, through Him and with Him: nothing was made that could have been made! (John 1, Colossians 1:13-19) So this sets up the "standard," that Jesus was in deed there since the beginning of "time." Being predestined (Ephesians 1:1) appointing a time under Heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1), to Love us so much, that chose the Method of Himself, to redeem us! Putting in operation a plan, and a purpose, not only in His own life, but in all of our lives, putting a reason in all things, and for all things. In Genesis 2:22 we find that God took a rib (a side) of Adam, to make Eve. Adam's side was opened to bring forth his bride, as was Jesus side opened-pierced for His side, the believers! (Isaiah 53:4-10&John 20:27-28) Now, the "seed of the woman" part is quite an interesting portion of this whole thing! The verse in particular is Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between you (serpent) and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; (Messiah) He will bruise your head, and you (serpent), shall bruise His heel." With that being said, what Paul writes in Romans 16:20 fascinating "And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen." So we get directly, that God will in fact bruise Satan. . . But what exactly are we to take from that? Well, the telling of the Messiah was to set the captives free, put to death sin, and overcome! In fact, Jesus did this very thing!! 1 Corinthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Genealogy Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you and curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Genesis 17:19 "Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him." Genesis 28:14 "Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west, and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your see all the families of the earth shall be blessed." In Luke 3:23-34 all of this is brought into terms : http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+3%3A23-34&version=NIV Jesus, being the descendant of Isaac, Jacob, and Abraham, the sign of His coming, the Messiah, and the foretelling of His genealogy was exact! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messiah King of Judah Genesis 49:10 "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people" Compared to John 1:49 "Nathaniel answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the KING of Israel!" The foretelling of this King came absolutely true! "Hosanna" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Melchizedek Genesis 14:18 "Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine, he was the priest of God Most High." Amazing! The bread (body of Christ) and the blood (He shed for our Justification in Him) is already coming through the scriptures! John 6:55-59 "For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum." We understand the symbolism, they did not eat of it due to the sense of Christ, BUT, there is a reason for this very thing Brings into terms WHY, we do this especially for Christ!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abraham and the Sacrifice of Isaac I find it amazing this story, we read and see the great faith of Abraham, but there is also a deeper meaning to this! We see that the Lord first and foremost told Abraham to do this, unclear? Well, there is the deal of faith, and God testing (not tempting mind you) Abraham with his son Isaac (whom God had given in his old age. . .son brought forth by Gods grace.) And in this we are met with the name Jehovah Jireh! Lets take a look! Genesis 22: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%2022&version=NKJV Jehovah Jireh: This is a very well known story, links are posted, so if you are confused please take a look at those links Genesis 22:6 "Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife." This relation even goes as far as having Isaac carrying the wood that would presumably take his very life! Jesus carried His cross-the very thing that He would be brought to death upon! Genesis 22:13 "13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide;[b] as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” In Genesis 22:7-8 we quickly learn that Isaac is to be the sacrifice in the place of the lamb. As was Jesus the ultimate "replacement" of sacrifice! By His own blood are we paid for! Along with that are a few more things to pay attention to! One, the ram caught in the thicket, by its horns. . .we know that Christ came to put to death sin, tried, tried, and pressured by sin, but did not give in! His crown was one of thorns! Next, instead of us, it was Jesus that died on the cross. On that given day, the mount was named "Jehovah-Jireh" or the Lord it shall be provided, and 4,000 years later would Jesus Christ be the provided sacrifice! Mathew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Not sure exactly what your reaching for bopeep. . . My thoughts are exactly what it says. . People proclaiming to be "Christians" but spread deceit and speak falsely- contrary to the teaching of Christ.

I do know that 2. Again, IMO it's not a sin and I think that Jesus would accept homosexuals if he were around today 3. I did not say it was a history book, just that I was going to look at those laws from the historical time period that they were written in (I.e we don't stone adulters any more, so why should homosexuality be a sin). Sorry if I'm still not clear enough, I have a hard time explaining things 4. What's wrong with worldly logic. We are suposed to be apart of this world, and to be honest, yes a lot of things should be changed, but the world isn't that bad as some people say it is. Oh, and thanks for the welcome guys! #2 Welcome to Worthy!! Something that we cannot stress enough is doing as provided in Proverbs 3:5-6, and sticking to the scriptures rather than how we "feel" about things. We cannot change the way God's judgement is, so being opinionated, and leading people in the direction that their sin is "okay" is far from edifying. In the end they answer to the Lord, and leading them to the correction that is in Him before judgement is very important. And by "leading" I mean telling them, and having the Holy spirit lead them. 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," Malachi 3:6 "I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed." 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." The problem that arises, is that people look at blood sacrifices-and the end of that into comparison to Christ- and think they can dismember that, and pull it over to their own inclinations. . .BUT, there are two things people are missing. . .1) The blood sacrifices did not save (Hebrews 10:4) and 2) Jesus Christ was the FULFILLMENT, of that law- so where is the fulfillment of this? Where in the bible does it correct the judgement found in both, Exodus AND 1 Corinthians? Well, there are none! So the fact still remains, homosexuality is INDEED a sin, and needs to be repented- meaning completely turned away from. . .hard. . .indeed, but there is nothing impossible with God, and that is made absolutely true in testimony's- and you can even find some of those here! Amen to Both posts! God does not ensure, when when we are in Him, that no trial will come before us, but what He DOES promise, is that NEVER, will He leave us nor forsake us. Not to mention there is a lot to learn and be learned, in our trials and tribulations. . . seems to me, it always ends in awe and amazement of just "how" God provided and saw us through them. We serve a faithful God indeed God bless you, And again, great posts!
