  1. No issue with dinosaurs. I think it has some vague descriptions in a few places but all in all I don't think it does. The bible deals with salvation for the most part though, not how moomoo the cow is doing.
  2. Then the baptism wasn't real. That isn't the truth. You are right when you say we experience a changed hart at salvation---before baptism. But it isn't always obvious in behaviour until after baptism when spiritual growth and fruit is observed. Maybe I misunderstood. I read it as they didn't have salvation until after the baptism. In that case, the baptism wasn't real. But going back and reading it again, you may be right. Anyone who advocates that they need to be baptized for salvation are adding to gods work.
  3. Bacon wrapped shrimp Bacon sandwiches Bacon anything
  4. matt 3:11 acts 1:5 1 john 5:6 its referring to jesus work not something we do. i dont feel conscience stricken to have never been water baptized. HIS water HIS blood belief in it will get His spirit to testify/born again/prove to you etc.
  5. Bad or good you get rewarded. In this life and in the next. This is why when I do good deeds or go out of my way to do good I know it's like an investment that eventually shows up back up to me
  6. it's just a dead forum with very few people posting on it.
  7. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
  8. They are pretty fun. I like the psycho killer ones the most
  9. It makes me think that I am sinless because Jesus work made me sinlesss
  10. blaspheming the holy spirit is throwing away the holy spirit after you have received it.
  11. They like everyone else need to repent and believe in the gospel to be saved
  12. Jesus said he was Elijah who was to come. John said he wasn't Elijah. John wasn't lying but neither was Christ. John wasn't literally Elijah. Jesus was speaking about him coming in the power/spirit of Elijah. As for the above post, John was a descendant of Aaron by both parents. He restored all things by baptizing the Christ which made his path straight. In other words he prepared the Lord for his crucifixion. I believe Jesus took up the worlds sin at his baptism and John testified Jesus took away the sin of the world the next day.
  13. I am not too picky. Some translations seem to fit better when I am trying to explain something though. One will say Completely clean the other will say your whole body is clean. Same thing but different impact.
  14. There are some groups of people who believe in Jesus in some way that say that you NEED to be water baptized and that it is a requirement. They may say that unless you're water baptized that you won't go to heaven. Or they may shake your conscience into thinking that unless you are water baptized you can't be saved. This is not true. Faith is what saves you. Take an example from Galatians 3 where they were being told that in order to become people of God they had to be circumcised. Paul warned them to turn back or their faiths may have been in vain! They were in danger for believing you could be save in another way other than the way Jesus told them! Let's read Acts 10:43-48 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. In the above passage it clearly states "all those who believe in Jesus receive the remission of sins through Jesus name." Peter was still speaking. They believed in their hearts. Suddenly the Holy Spirit came onto everyone who heard the message as they believed in their hearts. Peter then said "Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have." Peter was with jewish believers who thought that gentiles shouldn't be water baptized and were denying them. In this instance those gentiles believed in God with their hearts and were accepted by God. There is no difference in the Spirit they received that the gentiles received. What does having the holy spirit mean? Read Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Again it states that when you believe in Christ you will be marked with a seal. The seal is the Holy spirit. Its a guarantee that as long as you have the seal you will get the inheritance until the day Jesus comes back. You may be confused because verses like Acts 2:36-41 state that you should be water baptized. OF COURSE YOU SHOULD BE! But it's a false belief that this baptism saves you. You get water baptized because you repent and believe in Jesus in the first place. There are other verses like John 3:5 that state "Unless you are born of water and the Spirit you cannot enter the kingdom of God" But this was referring to the ministries of John and Christ. Acts 1:5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. It was telling you to believe in both the ministry of John and Christ. Johns parents were both descendants of Aaron legally making him a high priest. In the time of Jesus there were two high priests, one was a deputy. And John the one to make the path of the Lord straight by his baptism. Even Jesus attested about John saying John was the greatest man to be born from women and that all generations will sing praises about him. Anywho food for thought.
  15. You won't receive answers to prayers if you have sin. "We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will." "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear." The solution to this is Christ. Jesus has removed the barrier of sin. OP if you have sin in your heart please understand Jesus took away all sin once and for all. He took them up by baptism and crucified all the worlds sin at his crucifixion. How can you have a sin that has been crucified 2000 years ago?
  16. People make things that aren't a sin into a sin. Such as this 'bad language'. I can say bad words while praying and not feel bad. Chew on that everyone! I have always been wary of making things that I dislike into a sin. I realize that although I have never done marijuana for example, doesn't mean it's a sin. I never drank alcohol, but I dont despise the idea or think its sinful. Some things are sin obviously. Lying for one. Adding to the word of God for another. *cough* ANyways!
  17. Bad language isn't a sin. Though it can be used to sin. ****
  18. It was written by holy men chosen by God and authored by God. The bible is in agreement with itself and doesn't contradict. This can be very difficult for many different authors. This is another reason why the bible is so marvelous.
  19. Yes, congratulations, this is the traditional feel-good message taught in the Laodicean churches today! It places NO obligation on the believer to put away sin, and etc. ... because it is a feel-good message. Think I said that already. That is not the truth. We are called to repentance, and to renew our minds (Romans 12:2) and to submit to Christ who cleanses us by the washing of the water of the word. (Ephesians 5:26) Who says we aren't? Born again Christians can be found at all points of sanctification---on their own walk with Jesus. H has them firmly in His grip. Are you judging others for salvation? That is not your job. if I may chime in. You said "Christians can be found at all points of sanctification" but where does it say that Christians are progressively sanctified? From what I read it shows full sanctification or no sanctification. Example: " Then He said, 'Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God. He takes away the first that He may establish the second.' By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. " I don't think Jesus is a feel good message. Aarons sons for example offered strange fire to God. They believed in God but came to him in their own way instead of how the bible states. They were consumed by the fire of God and I think its safe to say their souls were lost.
  20. Yes, of course, you are safe and secure ... I have NO doubts about it. However, alas, you have made the usual female error, which I have noticed in all Christian forums! Dis thread is NOT about YOU ... 'tis about other people ... Is it possible for THEM to lose THEIR salvation? Hello! FEMALE ERROR?????????????????????????????? No one can lose one's salvation by his faith in Jesus Christ. It is a gift from God! Ephesians 4:30 (NLT) And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Jude 1:24 (NLT) Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. Romans 8:38-39 (NLT) And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. I don't know about you, but when the Lord guarantees me something, I can rest in that thing as being MINE! Wouldn't this be cherry picking? Although it shows that God is able to keep us from falling, in the case of Galatians was he unable? Or what about the letters to the churches in revelations? Let us review them. Galatians 3:1-4 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? He is writing them a letter because they took up the view of circumcision. Obviously they were Christ born as it says "beginning by means of the Spirit" and their current state "Are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?" Showing they arent enduring in the faith. Look they still believe in Jesus Christ. They still love him, they probably still show love to their neighbors and do everything else right, except the circumcision thing. Their faiths are absolutely worthless at this point if they really think being circumcised makes you a man of God. And read any of the letters to the churches in revelations. They all say to repent and endure and then they will be rewarded example "Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you."
  21. All of the verses are warnings to do the right thing or lose your life (salvation)
  22. From what I understand he died wednesday and rose saturday. On Sunday he was revealed.
  23. In other words he was a Christian whose faith wasn't accepted by God
  24. I believe the Lords work has been done for all men and women. I do feel a sorrow for those who have not accepted the Lords perfect salvation. Before I met the gospel I had an empty, thirsty and pained heart. I know that God makes me whole and simply put, without God they will never reach their full potential in this life and will be judged in the next for their shortcomings in the next. Unless they repent and believe of course.
