  1. After becoming a father, the topic of abortion brings more pain to me. Every time I read about abortion, I remember seeing ultrasound pictures of my girls. One of them is 5 years old and another just celebrated 1st birthday. It is really painful to see that such wonderful babies were never given the opportunity to even see the world. I only pray that Lord will change the hardened hearts.
  2. Why don't you both give it some time before making any final decision? How long have you been together? If his parents are this strong, did this topic never come out until marriage came out? Why would they let their son see someone if they are not going to agree to the marriage? Or your boy friend never told about you to parents? While it does sound harsh that their parents are being judgmental, it would not be fair to make any conclusions without knowing all the details. You are very much right in saying we are to obey parents as long as it does not violate God's moral standards. But they are not saying anything immoral here. Frankly, there is no Biblical answer for this. You and your boy friends close relationship with God will only give the answer
  3. I think today we have all sorts of technological advancement for something that would be mark of the beast. But I don't think it is already here. It would not be something we would end up using without even realizing it. Everyone will have to make a choice. Whether to get the mark of the beast and worship the beast or be slain. It would be a decision everyone would make and not something happening without even realizing. Revelation 13:15 And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. 16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
  4. because a time came in my life when I realized what sin is and there is really no remediation other than cross. It was actually Lord who opened by heart and eyes. Any one would believe in Jesus because Holy Spirit touched their heart. That is the biblical truth. I believed because He ministered to my soul and softened my heart
  5. I think there is no right or wrong here. Pray about it and let Lord show you the way. I attend a very small Church. My daughters are the only kids in the Church. In fact my elder one is the only kid in Sunday class and younger one is the only one in nursery. I have never bothered about it. Because they have Sunday class and they are getting spiritual nourishment which is what matters. I do know some people who allow their kids to attend another Church and the parents attend ours. It is not unusual. As others said, Lord may have planted you there to grow the Church with more youth. Or Lord has other plans for the Church and your kids. Seek the Lord and He will show the answer
  6. Hello Annika. Pray for them and share experiences and testimony rather than trying to preach to them or prove them wrong. I think we would never win souls by proving they are wrong. A person coming to Lord is work of Holy Spirit and not through human wisdom. If they are going through a difficult time, let them see the burden your soul has for them. Share testimonies of how Lord has brought you through difficult times in your life. Let them see Christ in you. They would listen as long as you are not pushing something to them.
  7. I think tongues are for today also. However, it is not the only sign of a person being filled with Holy Spirit. That is where I disagree with typical charismatic theology. I think many Pentecostals believe tongues are just one of the gifts and not "the sign" of baptism of Holy Spirit. Tongues should be sought as any other gift of Holy Spirit. I have seen many believers who speak in tongues, but lack spiritual discernment. And many believers who have wonderful teaching gifts but do not speak in tongues. I should admit it. I have never personally encountered anyone who have spoken in other languages which they themselves do not know. During Pentecost that exactly happened
  8. Just saying.. It was not the lie that saved the family.. The Nazi soldiers could have still searched for the boat and found the others. It was grace of God.. If the person had said "I am hiding some Jews and they are hiding at bottom of the boat". The Nazis might have thought this guy is crazy or pulling some jokes and left.
  9. Anger is not always sin. There is a type of anger of which the Bible approves, often called “righteous indignation.” God is angry (Psalm 7:11;Mark 3:5), and believers are commanded to be angry (Ephesians 4:26). Two Greek words in the New Testament are translated as “anger.” One means “passion, energy” and the other means “agitated, boiling.” Biblically, anger is God-given energy intended to help us solve problems. Examples of biblical anger include David’s being upset over hearing Nathan the prophet sharing an injustice (2 Samuel 12) and Jesus’ anger over how some of the Jews had defiled worship at God’s temple in Jerusalem (John 2:13-18). Notice that neither of these examples of anger involved self-defense, but a defense of others or of a principle. 10. In your original post you had mentioned that you don't want to open doors for satan. Have you thought why do you still open the doors? How frequent do you read Bible and how much do you pray? Who do you think Jesus is?
  11. Each parable is so rich! My favorite would be prodigal son. So many things to learn from that.
  12. I am new to this forum.. I am a Protestant believer.. We don't believe in praying to saints.. Jesus is the only High Priest for us today.. He is the only one who can talk on our behalf.. Satan is the accuser. Christ will speak on behalf for us.. No one else in between..
  13. I love this But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
