One year my folks got a stop sign and put it at the bottom of the stairs. Hoping that we would stay upstairs until a decent hour so they could get to sleep. They forgot that my younger brothers would squeal and bang on the bedroom door until they got up.

Some people really troll though. Some have caused harm. There are forums with no moderation. They are horrible. This site has rules that everyone agreed to when signing up. Even if you didn't read them. It is not cowardice to enforce rules and ban troublemakers.

Long ago I was banned at a Christian chatroom for telling a mod their Mormon teacher should not be teaching. Banning happens. I moved on.

I don't think it's funny but I am one of the first who got the irs phone scam calls. I panicked and believing it was fake called the real irs. Have you ever called the real irs? Talk about scary. For awhile I also got calls claiming a sheriff was on his way to arrest me unless I paid money on the phone. Didn't fall for that one. I moved in 2021 and got a landline for the sole purpose of it my parents being able to contact me at home in an emergency. I get calls daily from all over the country. They never leave messages but try to get me to give them money if I answer.

Me too. I never posted but only used it to see what food trucks were at the roundup each week. No idea why I got banned.
