  1. I am not even mildly surprised at the arrogance of the flesh, the vanity, the unmitigated capacity for evil it contains. That was my true identity for over 40 years until Jesus saved me and transformed me though I surely did not merit His Grace. The stupidity of the flesh is well documented throughout the ages yet without the Grace of God we can not and/or will not recognize it. The flesh uses our own intelligence against us, we get used to relying on feelings and discounting Truth even when it is all around us. I do not say this as any kind of condemnation as the flesh is what it is, wicked. Rather I say this to say PRAISE GOD and thank you Lord for redeeming my spirit and transforming it from dead to alive and forgiven. HALLALUJAH!!!
  2. I watched that, very interesting. Will we get Data or the Terminator? Very cool about deep blue helping to cure cancers.
  3. But are we not to spread the gospel to all nations? Also is Frontline considered left, right or middle of the road?
  4. Well I will be voting Trump but only as the lesser of two evils......but enough politics, what are your thoughts on the middle east? Armageddon? Same old same old? Who is the greater threat,Iran or Russia or the Saudis? Come on Ezra and all, I look forward to your opinions.
  5. Dust is not a creature and it did not evolve it was changed.
  6. So we are to abandon all hope and quit?
  7. You subscribe to the ideas knowterrorists seems to represent? Do you think either candidate fits the bill?
  8. I may be wrong but doesn't the Bible refer to two types of tongues? One where the Holy Spirit interprits "groanings" and one where people speaking different languages can understand each other? I will try and find the verses. Mark 16:17 - And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered
  9. Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
  10. I wasn't going to post this here but I feel moved to do so..... I do not know if the PBS show Frontline is considered left or right and I am no Obama fan but after watching "Confronting Isis" last night I must say that I also have no idea how to fix the problems in Syria and the rest of the middle east. It is so much more complicated than I realized. Yes Obama made a huge mistake by giving Iran a quarter billion dollars. He also erred in Syria but at least he gave it a shot. That place is scary crazy. It seems to be Assad,Russia and Iran vs 4 factions of rebels vs Isis vs turkey vs the Kurds. Iraq is also a mess with sunnis vs shias. Saudi Arabia is angry and well armed. They seem the most upset over the Iran thing. Yemen, Libya,Iraq and Syria all seem beyond repair. The answer?? I have no idea. Add to all that the refugees pouring out of Syria and undermining the stability of Europe and the stage seems set for something big and bad to happen. Think this doesn't concern you? Well a lot of those refugees will be coming here and we still need oil and Russia has nukes just like we do. Again, I do not see a solution. I know God will work it all out and I really am not interested in a political debate. I think there are some very bright people here so I am asking if anyone has any solutions or ideas. Thank you.
  11. As much as we all disagree we are still brothers and sisters in Christ. I also lose sight of that at times and I thank you for your post as it has made me reconsider the nature and tone of what I write here and elsewhere. Thank you.
  12. Please do not refer to those in favor of abortion as pro-choice. Abortion is escaping the consequences of a choice by taking all choice away from the most defenseless among us.
  13. Once you truly mature in the Lord you will realize your true identity and things like family traditions and "ghosts" wont scare you.
  14. Are you praying before you read? I know this may sound cheesy but I find when I pray and ask God to open my mind to His Word I get a much better understanding when I am reading.
  15. All valid reasons, I have another. Often the abused and abusers come from homes where abuse occurred in childhood so they believe these actions to be normal. If a person witnessed abuse growing up they may have a hard time convincing themselves that it is wrong and that it is NOT the "way it is". No one should ever stay in a relationship where they are physically abused, not only do they endanger themselves but they help continue the cycle when their children witness the behavior.
  16. OH ok but john did recognize Jesus in the womb so....kinda as a baby lol
  17. 1.66 2. 5000 men (there were women and children also but they werent counted) 3. peter 4. john the baptist 5. i forget lol 6. malta 7. john
  18. The English word "tabernacle" is derived from the Latin tabernāculum meaning "tent" or "hut", which in ancient Roman religion was a ritual structure.[5][6][7][8] Other uses of this word include nautical usage, referring to a mast step, which by its arrangement of boards allows the mast to be raised and lowered,[citation needed] and textiles industry usage, referring to a similar wooden bar scaffold used for holding a large rug while weaving.[citation needed] The word sanctuary is also used for the biblical tabernacle, as is the phrase "tent of meeting". The Hebrew word mishkan implies "dwell", "rest", or "to live in", referring to the "[In-dwelling] Presence of God", theshekhinah, based on the same Hebrew root word as mishkan), that dwelt within this divinely ordained structure.[9][10]
  19. The old testament had clear instructions about how a non jew could become a jew. It had something to do with circumcision and I think a few other things. I will research this and have the verses for you later.
  20. Matthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. This is actually a huge part of the new covenant. We can not love anyone as we love ourselves until we 1st love ourselves and we can not love ourselves until we realize who we truly are, we are redeemed, forgiven and loved saints and children of God. That is our true identity, not this bag of flesh and bones we are encased in now. The lack of that understanding is why the road is narrow indeed.
  21. How about Colton Burpo? He was 3 when he had his nde. I have read the book(Heaven is Real). I am not sure how much his parents influenced him but it is a good read.
  22. Numbers 1,3,6,9,11 and 13 are all biblical yet those exact quotes are not in there.
  23. So then the Holy Spirit is leading you to gotquestions.org? If so than that's great. He generally leads me to the Bible, but He also leads me other places as well. I suppose I am said thirsty horse full of false doctrine in your opinion, which oddly enough seems good enough to mock others but not quite up to snuff to trust as far as the spiritual goes. That's ok, the gospel of grace Jesus left for us is a difficult thing to accept and often people would rather mock the messenger than go through the work of prayer and study. I suppose some people are just not destined to agree. I will refrain from either calling you names or mocking your beliefs. Instead I will pray for you. Good night.
  24. That's nuttier than an outhouse squirrel at a peanut factory!! (joking)
