Hi, One cannot force indwelling by the Holy Spirit on another person, any other person. One can and should share of the gospel of Jesus and also do all that one does to the glory of God.; doingso so that it is plain that Jesus is the focal point of one's own life. So what to do? Youth rebels against rules, same as more mature adults do. None the less every household needs house rules. Be sure house rules are known, including the acceptable manner in which a household member may challenge them. Allow challenges well thought out, force justification of all challenges, and then consider the challenges in prayer, in reading of the word, then also share the house's final ruling and why of it. When based on Biblical principle and precept share the detail of that. Know too that youth grows up goes it's own way, but it never forgets the teaching of a parent. At some point in life the reason for the rules will come to the forefront for the mature child now adult too. Each decision to trust in the faith of Jesus comes by the way the Holy Spirit's specific call. Never give up on prayer for the ones God has placed in our hearts, praying for them by name, and be confident in the answer in the affirmative. It may come long after one's own physical demise, but know God is faithful to answer affirmatively prayer rightly asked; not right words, right motivation.

Well might one want to look at God's overall plan; perhaps starting with the first Jew 99 year old Abram selected by God and then called by Him Abraham? Seems to me there have been at least three major covenants of God that have led to great promise for His chosen, but also have led to great wrath by our jealous God, complete with extremely serious punishments lasting decades and decades, centuries, to a present and future time of reconciliation through the redeemer. Hi, Well, I think our God allows us both; the privilege and duty to do as he leads us directly, plus the privilege and duty to pay to Caesars (Government) what is Caesar's. I do think Christians do not have the market cornered on doing good. Many individuals do marvelous good do so at personal long term sacrifice, trying to pay it forward as the popular saying states today. What we may call secular groups, and even government at many levels, does some good and even marvelously generous works. Maybe not in our Lord's name, but good works none the less. I personally have benefitted greatly from the fruit of one that did absolutely marvelous sacrificial work for so many individuals in great discomfort and need. Praise God for all that do "pay it forward"!

Hi, The idea that one cannot have an opinion different from one's own without those reaching differing conclusions having disdain for their nation is just hard to support. If all citizen voters, as example, had the same mindset there would be no need for elections at all. It is good, very good, to have robust conversation, strong debate, and enthusiasm for one cause or another too, but to call those different from myself people that hold disdain for our country? Many on all sides of most every issue have one commonality- that of relying upon God above all else.

It is my "impression" is that prisons do not help drug abusers ( end users), but that some very serious consequence and help is needed. Perhaps confinement in a treatment facility is part of the need. I hear from law enforcement that it is.

The idea that drug use will stop as soon as China, Mexico, Canada, feels the bit of tariffs that raise cost of goods for USA residents is plain nutty. Hi, There is good reason to worry, even better reason to hope! New worry comes to the world every day. Hope is there in Christ Jesus day and night. You can gravitate into despair by feeding yourself on worries, or you can have hope that is certain in Jesus. The worries of this world provide a comfort of sorts, that comfort being I cannot but fail because look at the world of failure out there. Buy into that wall of worry and you will defeat yourself. Dump that odd comfort found in worrying and justifying failure. Embrace the hope that is certain in our Lord and savior Jesus. Strive to be a winner, the winner, work harder than anyone else and then keep on working at whatever you do; doing so for the purpose of glorifying the one that has saved you out from destruction and instead into eternal life with God for all eternity to come.
