  1. This might help you next time.. I just copied the "http.. url" and chose the options in the pop-up box that immediately opens a browser in the search engine, then I checked the url of the first video of an interview of Billy Graham that coincided with the parts quoted by the poster. The video happened to be less than two minutes long which no doubt had originally been longer. Sometimes short clips leave out pertinent content but that one happened to be sufficient to clarify what Graham was talking about. btw.. Your welcome.
  2. It is suggested that you listen more carefully to what Billy Graham actually said on that video.. you seem to think that he said that the Muslims, the Buddists stay in their religion.. as well as the non-believing world continues not to believe and yet "are all saved". Graham emphasized, in his own words, that all may hear, believe and accept Christ. .. which would be in accordance with what it says in Jn.14:6.
  3. I make my responses in a kind attitude toward you. I'd say that only Judas Iscariot had such a spirit. Jesus explained that only he was destined to do what he did. Judas was also not a child of God but a child of the devil as all are who don't know Jesus through His grace in salvation. But you are a child of God. For these reasons, I point out that what your pastor made a misdiagnosis, what he said of you is not correct. No one should compare an unborn again person with a born again person. I would venture to say that you are a babe in Christ.. not knowing how to deal with tormenting dreams, not knowing how to pray according to the promises of God concerning your situation. And I suggest that you spend time doing research on bible topics that would give you the means.. the weapons of warfare to overcome such trials. It says in 1 Peter 2:2 "like a babe desire the milk of the word to grow thereby". When you learn what God's word says, then you will be able to defeat the devil just as Jesus did while he was in the wilderness. (Matthew 4:1-11) Your conclusions are not according to God's word concerning your salvation. You are thinking that way because you are used to basing your life on what you feel. But God is all about faith, trusting God is an act of the will, not an experience of feelings. When you are trusting God (the beneficial promises of His word) by your will.. the feelings will learn to follow. And so your relationship with God will grant a response of joy from your spirit man. So first say.. for instance (Psalm 94:19) "When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer." Say it as often as needed. As often as you have a thought that you will not "get anything from God". Think of it as a session like children do .. of "no you won't", "yes I will". Go ahead and be stubborn that you will get from God what He promised. That stubbornness in stating God's word is what the bible calls patience. (Hebrews 10:35-36) What you have said is based on feelings which bring thoughts of self condemnation. But (Romans 8:1) says "There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh (feelings and sense knowledge thinking), but after the spirit." (the spirit there refers to your spirit-man) that (Romans 7:21) "delights in the law of the Lord." That article is not speaking about God's grace to the sinner, it's about people who rely on their own good works. So, the article is not talking about you. It says in John 6:37 "All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." That is a statement of grace to the sinner who doesn't have any good works to boast of. Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." When you are matured in the word of God then go back to that article and compare your maturity in Christ with it. Hint: a Christian that is mature in Christ doesn't rely on their good works in order to be acceptable to God. They have been born again by faith, in grace.. and thereafter continues to walk in that faith, and according to (1 John 4:16) "knowing and believing the love which God has for him."
  4. Matthew wrote of events after they happened, so I think of the resurrection of those dead as a good news report. The earthquake would have been in connection with the resurrection of the dead. The centurion could have heard the conversations of the people at any time during the ministry of Jesus.. or while he stood before the officials before he was taken to be crucified.. and while Jesus was on the cross, at that moment, he believed. The dead saints were raised up with Jesus as a fulfillment of what Jesus taught on the subject. Each author of the 4 gospels did write of events that were not written by the other three. For instance the author of the book of John is in many ways different than what the other 3 wrote, yet it's also similar. The saints that were raised from the dead had their immortal bodies like Jesus, therefore they don't die again. They either are or could be called the first-fruits of what we call "the rapture" (1 Thes.4:13-17; 1 Cor.15:51-57) that every Christian will experience in due time.
  5. I'm not sure in what sort of attitude that you said "I might add that it is not ok for you to demand that I agree with you." .. "So there.... EOC I guess." If it's meant the way that it reads.. I don't know where that is coming from because I said nothing to imply a demand that you agree with me. At the most I pointed back to Michael Heiser whom you mentioned, as the one you might most likely agree with. Neither am I talking about a personal conclusion alone concerning any book outside the Bible. The "those books" I mentioned are such as the Catholic apocrypha.. as well as Enoch, Jasher and the like. I put them in the same pile as those that are not inspired of God. It seems as though you have read enough of the book of Enoch and have found it to be worthy of consideration to be classified as close to godly. And yet it has material in it that is recognizable as "agnostic .. and 90% Ethiopian forgery" by those who have thoroughly read it. I found those quotes while looking for what Michael Heiser said about the book of Enoch. My research isn't finished yet so I offer what I've found so far. You and everyone else can do with Enoch whatever you and they like.
  6. I was making a comparison between what is in the Bible and therefore inspired of God, and what is in those books and therefore not inspired of God. Even Michael Hiser would agree with me on that.
  7. I notice that they quoted very little from those "unauthorized" books. That shows how much is actually true and what isn't. Only what is inspired of God is in the Bible.
  8. We having been forgiven of all sin, trespasses.. refers to those committed when we were sinners. As for after we are Christians, we.. like Jesus of the Lord's prayer do still ask forgiveness of trespasses as well as forgive others of theirs against us. This is in line with what the apostle John wrote in his epistle of first John, chapter 2:1 and chapter 1:9. Concerning "not entering the kingdom" I wrote that by memory rather than by checking the actual reference.. I was thinking of what Paul said "wrongdoers do not inherit the kingdom of God".
  9. The quote you gave, by context refers only to the moment that a person is "made alive" in Christ.. referring to all the sins accumulated from the first sin (at whatever age.. 5 years old onward) until getting saved. Regarding this.. "It makes no mention of repentance as far as salvation is concerned." is soterialogically incorrect. Because it reads in Ephesians 2 that "being made alive" is a term that refers to being born again / getting saved. In that we were all dead in sin prior to being made alive. Which means, we were sinners before we got saved. To be born again is to repent of sins and receive Jesus as our Savior.. by faith, through grace. When you mention sorrow and regret over sin. That is clearly according to what teaching you've heard. I haven't. I've been taught that when convicted of the Holy Spirit to repent and thereby prevent undue anguish. Like the scripture says "when anxieties multiply within me Your consolations O Lord delight my soul." The way that you said "it didn't get you saved and does not keep you saved".. I don't know what that is supposed to be attached to.. is "it" repentance? Yes.. according to Acts 2:38. Is "it" anguish and sorrow? No that is no assurance of salvation. Then you said "to believe otherwise is to add to the gospel".. again.. I don't what that is supposed to refer to. It seems to me that you aren't addressing yourself to me, but to a strawman. You said "your bold statements require chapter and verse otherwise it's just your opinion." Well, I could say the same of you. I'll repost my previous post with corresponding chapter and verse if someone else asks for it.
  10. Forgiveness of all sins of one's life up to hearing the gospel unto salvation. After salvation a Christian still sins so those must be repented of in order to be cleansed of all unrighteousness... or they will not enter into the kingdom.. that place of growth by the word of righteousness. It is the working out of your own salvation. [taught by James & Paul]
  11. Good for you. I'm answering these according to the text if not according to the chapter and verse designations that were added some years later. Being able to remember the text indicates that I did read it .. rather than just looking it up but not knowing what it said.
  12. Mat.5: 11-12 Be glad when you are insulted or spoken against falsely or persecuted on account of Me, for your reward in heaven is great.
  13. when the Lord turned their captivity.. a bad situation became a good situation.
  14. I'd have to look that up which would be cheating wouldn't it?
  15. Bildad in Job 8:21.. I can just see it.. yes Job, while we tell you how such a sinner you are, yet you insist that you are righteous so why then aren't you cheerful instead of getting mad at us?
  16. She is the one of whom that father said that the first one out the door shall be given unto God. A lot of people believe that it means she was sacrificed like Abraham was ready to do to his son. But such things were forbidden since the pagans sacrificed their children to Baal. This is also a matter of why the Jews today do not accept the crucifixion of Jesus because they see it as a pagan sacrifice. The daughter was in catholic terms required to be a nun. Never get married or have children. That was why she was so sad.. she was the age to get engaged and possibly hoped to marry a particular young man. In Jewish society and at her age .. she was made to endure a horrible life.. still having to love her father for making such an impulsive decree at her expense rather than putting some stringent discipline on himself.
  17. Jesus had said that the dead girl was only asleep. The apostle Paul honored Jesus in also referring to the dead as "being asleep".
  18. Abraham's wife, Sarah. Abraham had laughed too. The name Isaac means laugh. Jesus said that while giving birth a woman is anguished but immediately afterward there is rejoicing.. that makes all the pain be forgotten. . And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. . To provide for those who grieve in Zion—to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise in place of a spirit of despair.
