  1. I absolutely agree! I just see evolution as a tool that God used, not an explanation unto itself. I understand your point. I thought that for a long time myself, but can you find one scripture that supports this? No, but there are plenty to refute it. If you were to say “There simply is no prion for it to evolve on its own”, I would agree with this, too! No, sorry, but I wouldn't say that. I would say what I already said! How many people do you know have a PhD in biology? Of those, how many chose to study biology as a way to refute the existence of God? It sounds like you are assigning motives to people you don’t know, but I could be wrong. Great point! I worded that very poorly. What I meant was how many unbelievers in science depend on science to confirm their unbelief. Now that addressed, have you considered that you are actually trying to justify evolution within creation? Round peg, square hole. Based on God's word, it just doesn't fit. Actually, if biology ever discovers the science of quantum physics, it to will realize that, scientifically, evolution is non existent. Ultimately science will be forced to admit that existence is by intelligent design. There is no way to avoid it, no matter how many theories science devises. Cheers!!!
  2. One.Opinion, your friends are deceiving themselves. If you believe in God and Jesus, then you believe He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow forever. No option for change and certainly none for evolution. Hebrews 11: 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Creation and all that exists comes from God's will, and no where else. God is immutable, so when He willed matter and energy and all the structures they combine to form, organic and inorganic, that matter and energy is the same today as it was when He created it. There simply is no option for it to evolve. He does not change, nor does what He willed into existence. God decided before the beginning all that we have experienced, experience now, or ever will experience. Where is the evolution in that? (In case you were going to bring this up in response, no, this does not eliminate free will at all. When you know someone well enough to know what they will decide to do in a given situation, you are not denying them their free will. You simply know in advance how they will use that free will. God knows each of us better than we know ourselves, so He knew even before we were born all our choices and willed existence to conform to those choices accordingly and to best serve His purpose and plan. He is after all Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent) There cannot be a Biblical bad argument for evolution therefore, because evolution is not even a Biblical possibility. Yes, I know when a person believes in science and believes in God it can be a conflict. Look at how many unbelievers are in science just to chose that conflict. But the bottom line is that in every case, God's word trumps all other considerations. At best, for those open minded enough to realize all that God has created is His, and leads back to Him. Science can do that; it can lead back to God, but not as long as it strains to seek any new explanation that eliminates God. Science needs to get "real". Cheers One.Opinion!!!
  3. Did you miss this one? http://peacefulscience.org/peace-be-with-you/ Cheers One.Opinion!!!
  4. Hello Jen77! Try this. Read your post as if it was someone else's dilemma. What would your advise be to that person? You already know the answer. Now, read Colossians Chapter 3 and especially versus 23 and 24. No need for advice after all as this is your answer! Cheers!!!
  5. Hello Michael37! Do you all speak Greek as well? Maybe you could give us more detail about how your Church actually operates. Those one liners simply leaves too much to conjecture, as the reactions here prove! Care to share more please? Cheers!!!
  6. Hello Jerusalemgift! Welcome to Worthy. Cheers!!! Hebrews 11:1-3 English Standard Version (ESV) By Faith 11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
  7. Brujaq! I had no clue! Great post and historical facts! https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/john-hanson-first-america-black-president-barack-obama-pj-wilcox Cheers!!!
  8. You have OCD. What you wrote about your fears seems to definitely confirm OCD behavior. What kind of help are you getting for this condition, and if not, why not? Also, are you a born again Christian? Have you been baptized (full immersion) in water at your church? As has been said multiple times to this post of yours and the other on discipline, NONE of what you fear is coming from God. God does not torment people, He judges and corrects and heals and saves people through Jesus Christ.
  9. Hello Heb 13: 8! Again, Proverbs 3: 5. How positive are you that "neurotransmitters"effect love, and not the reverse? Can God's Love come from neurotransmitters? Not very realistic, since God's Love existed before He even created neurotransmitters! Heb 13:8, you are relying on your natural "habit" of trusting your intellectual understanding of things before trusting God's creation of them. and is a major source of struggle in accepting faith. We ALL go through this, and continue to deal with these contradictions between the flesh and the spirit. Just keep seeking and you will understand. Just as you now understand things you did not at a previous time. But to make sure you allow God to keep you safe in your explorations, do your seeking based on His word, as in the verses in the previous post so you do not unintentionally fall into the trap of evil. (Matthew 10 : 28 and Luke 12: 5) Cheers!!!
  10. Hello Heb 13: 8! Be careful here. Every single approach to psychology is based on a unifying core belief that we each are capable, through professional psychological council, to heal ourselves. This is after all the emphasis of psychology. This is also in direct conflict with God's word. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-23 New King James Version (NKJV) 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. Blessing and Admonition 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify[a] you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This link will give you 20 versus that conform God is our ONLY healer, not ourselves. Please consider these before you get too deeply involved with the deceptions of psychology. https://www.ibelieve.com/faith/20-bible-verses-about-healing-that-only-god-can-give.html, especially #10. 10. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. – Proverbs 3:5- Anyway please consider these verses to guide you in any exploring of the science and philosophy of men! Cheers Heb 13: 8!!!
  11. Behold, Of course He is a loving God. There is no higher definition of Love than God. Did He not know each and everyone of us from the beginning? Did He not give us free will to chose? Did He not know our choices before we did? Absolutely. Is He not the greatest form of perfection possible? Of course He is. He is forever the same, never changing, immutable. Is He not Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent? Of course He is. How then can anything occur without His knowledge of it and plan for it? Is His ways not higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts? You wrote "For example, God does not INTEND for a person to be born, so that they can go to hell and end up in the lake of fire. God is not in the business of bringing some into the world with His INTENTION of them going to hell." I agree, these things are not His intention, They are man's intention by sinning against God. Because God already knows the choice we will each make before we make that choice, does not take away our free will, nor does it prevent Him from using our choices for His purpose. He wishes no one should perish and that evil should be destroyed, but we, through Adam, sinned against Him and fell from grace, and we each everyday sin continuously against God. It is our free will to do so. None of us are worthy, and if not for Christ we ALL would be born into eternal separation from God, according to God's will; the wages of sin IS DEATH, death to any knowledge of Him. Numbers 23; 19, Job 23: 13, Psalms 90: 2, 129: 16, 139: 16, 147: 5, Proverbs 19: 20, Isaiah 14: 24, 48: 8, Ephesians 1: 11, 1 John 3: 20, 1 Peter 1: 18-20.+ Cheers Behold.
  12. Hello Heb 13: 8! It's not that God allows it, He planned it. Yes, God is in control of everything from the smallest to the largest, and uses the will of each of us to accomplish His purpose. Absolutely nothing happens that was not intended by God to happen. Cheers!!!
  13. Hello JohnKing67! Welcome to Worthy. Christ's Blood shed on the Cross to pay the wages of sin for all who believe in Him, God's Love and Presence are all one in the same, not exclusive of each other. It is no longer a matter of what you"need" once you become Born Again, but what you should desire; to become Christ like. Yes, it is an impossible goal to achieve on your own, but making every effort to achieve it none the less is more than doable for everyone who believes. You cannot attain that perfection on your own, however if in your heart you are a true believer, try to walk in the Holy Spirit as much as you are able, Christ will bring you to perfection. This is Salvation, God's Love, and His presence in you at all times. John 14:20 New King James Version (NKJV) 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 1 John 3:1 New King James Version (NKJV) The Command to Love 3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of [a]God! Therefore the world does not know [b]us, because it did not know Him. Romans 5:8 New King James Version (NKJV) 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10:9-10 New King James Version (NKJV) 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Galatians 2:20 New King James Version (NKJV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Hope this answers you question JohnKing57 Cheers!!!
  14. Well stated Sister! Cheers!!!
  15. Hello JTC, Consoling a person who is grieving is a very difficult thing to do since losing someone is always a shock and tragedy to cope with. Through faith, you can at least have the hope you did not lose this friend to death, but to eternal life instead. Pray as well for God to send you a new friend, who is compatible and perhaps even a fellow believer. As Debp already noted above, you will always have friends here as well to discuss things with you as you wish. You are correct, no one dies unless it is God's will; our days are numbered. I think this has to do with the grief God has for each soul lost to sin and enables us to relate to His grief, and therefore His Love for us. God heals all wounds. Psalm 147:3 New King James Version (NKJV) 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their [a]wounds.
  16. Thank you George! I heard from Fresno Joe. He did not elaborate, but but we know he is secure in God's love and Christ's Salvation. Thank you again for your help Brother! Cheers!!!
  17. Hello SerenelyBlue. Before I was born again, science was my "religion". I mean, who could argue with what can be proven right? Well, actually wrong, as science was the reason I became born again. After becoming a believer, what became obvious to me is that science simple "discovers" the laws of nature God ordained, and how these laws explain much of what we observe in physical reality. The biggest problem (IMHO) for folks to see the compatability of scripture and science is I think the concept of time. For evolutionists, obviously there seems to be a divide in the timeline between creation and evolution simply too great to reconcile. This would be correct IF time was itself a constant. Yet through the science of physics and quantum physics we know time is relative, so that what appears to be 14 billion years from the human perspective, is in fact simultaneous from God's perspective. Yes, many unbelievers will tell you this is a cop out, but science disagrees. Look at Einstein's Relativity, where time is relative to the observer. It can actually speed up and slow down depending upon your position and speed in space, to the point where you could leave this world on a space voyage and return, from your point of observation a few years later, yet your children could have become older that you in every sense of aging. If you consider the very first physical component of this existence that God created, it was light. He created it even before the earth and universe had form. If you traveled (if you could that is) at the speed of light you would never encounter time. You would not even know the concept of time because at the speed of light time simply does not exist. Yet, here we are with "tons" of evidence for evolution. Science is what's called deterministic, which means that science looks for evidence in nature that is consistent, provable, predictable, and constant. A chemical reaction between two elements occurred the same way billions of years ago as it occurs today. The interaction of all matter and all energy with each other likewise happened from the beginning just as as it happens today. God by His very Essence, is deterministic too. He cannot change. He is the exact same God from the beginning as He is today; completely immutable. So ultimately the big question is , for science anyway, what was the first cause? What happened that set up a deterministic universe and allowed it to "evolve"? For believers, obviously God is the first cause of this universe and all evidence of evolutionary processes, just as God is the first cause of all the laws of nature. Science is still blank on it's first cause in so much as having a reasonable explanation for that first cause. Yes, there are theories, but little to support the theories of those theories! When you factor in the incomprehensible actions/interactions/processes/variety of inorganic-organic structures/the various forms of energy (electromagnetic spectrum)/the sub atomic, atomic, molecular structures that must exist (to support the existence of all the inorganic-organic structures)/ the shear complexity and magnitude of it all to happen precisely as it does becomes scientific evidence for a first cause that at least indicates a high probability for intelligent design. Not just evolution of life, but evolution of all that has to take place for this universe and all it contains to exist as physically real exactly as we observe it. So, it's OK to believe what science says about evolution as long as you understand the evolutionary process was conceived and established by God's mind, His Thoughts, His Attributes, His Creation. There is no conflict. The conflict is for those who insist God does not exist, which of course could, itself, never happen if God did not make them! Love the irony! Cheers!!!
  18. Has anyone heard from FresnoJoe? I PM'd him last week but he did not respond, and he usually does within a day. He made reference to not being well, but gave no specifics so I am hoping someone here knows how he is doing. Just concerned about his well being, so any info is greatly appreciated. TIA Cheers
  19. Hi Siegi91. If determinism was active from the beginning, what then is its cause? Cheers!!!
  20. Hi Siegi91! Deterministic. This means you believe things happen outside your will? That's what the definition I got online is. If the "final state" was established millions of years before you were born and is pre-determined then you are telling me that at every level of reality, again from the quantum to the macro, that all it's components (particles, atomic and molecular structure, compounds, and all the structures they comprise organic and inorganic, and all the ways they interact with each other and with energy, including all the conceptions of cognizant minds whether considered real or imagined is in fact predetermined. Yes? No? I don't see why probability should be an exception to this then. Do we agree on this? Cheers Siegi91
  21. Hi Brujaq! Who knows prophesy and Revelation? Only God and those He chooses to share it with. God is eternal and has no need for nor dependence on time. He does however create the appearance of time for us, otherwise we could not experience faith ( Substance of things hoped for, evidence of what is not seen). As for the natural and supernatural (prefer to avoid using the latter). Who established the laws of nature, the "natural"? Again, only God, so in that sense there is no natural, and only His invisible attributes (better definition of supernatural agreed?). Despite the "fact" that we experience reality as a progressive series of events, one leading seamlessly into another, the only time we have any experience is right now. In the "spotlight" moment in this universe or rather, in the ever present focus of God's will. Cheers Brujaq!!!
  22. OK, I'm in the middle of some intense lightening and thunder here, and having already lost a TV and PC to the "bolts", I'm shutting down. Later perhaps? Cheers!!!
  23. Hi Brujaq. I know that seems not only logical, but obvious, yet the ONLY time you ever have is "right now". This is all you experience. Everything else is either memory or imagination. Try to do anything a millisecond ago. You can only do it right now. Think about it. Cheers!!!
