Is it possible to commit the unpardonable sin today?
Who me replied to plo1988's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Any answer has to deal with two or three issues. Can it be done today? If one accepts that the unforgiven sin is to reject Jesus, then yes every nonchristian is committing it. Can Christians do this? No they have accepted Jesus and he has promised to keep us so he can present us to God. How you view or understand christianity influences your view of this sin. If you believe people chose to become Christian then you probably believe they can walk away from Jesus, committing this sin. If you believe God chooses who will be saved and that he preserves them, then you will believe they cannot commit this sin. -
let go and let God are as reprehensible as only believe or just have faith. Paul used the illustrations of 'Olympic athletes' and of 'professional trained soldiers' as illustrations of the Christian life. Any one who does keep fit will tell you that it requires hard work and self discipline, just as the Christian life does.

People do not understand the depth, with, height or length of Gods love for us and that is largely because the neither know what holiness means or the utterly degrading and foul condition that sin is. They believe that they are 'good' not vile God hating sinners. It is a mark of Gods love that he permits anyone to live.

All who do not believe. John3:16-18, All who do not believe in me, are Already condemned.

Yes the bible is comp.ete and is finished. If you read about how the bible was formed, you will learn that it was compiled by agreement a ong the various churches long before Constantine's conference. Some books were omitted because they did not pass the requirements for inclusion.

What can christians do to be a positive influence
Who me replied to Space_Karen's topic in General Discussion
What can Christians do to be a positive influence? The primary are thing is to live as a Christian. If one is serious, then things like the 10 commandments are rules one follows. Not stealing time, little supplies, electricity etc from your employer. Think about it. Being able to as 1 Peter 3 says:- 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. to be able to care for people, even when they are unlovely. the early Christians where know by how they loved other people. -

It depends on one's level of understanding. Achiltibuie will believe Jesus saves, while an older person will have a deeper understanding. If one b3lieves in Jesus's name one is believing g in Him, what he has done, what he represents etc etc etc. -
Does God respect religious tolerance toward other religions ?
Who me replied to R. Hartono's topic in General Discussion
We have to respond to God, unfortunately many people prefer to respond to the call of the devil and follow false religions. Think about it. If God dealt with all the false religions and all the ' big ' sinners. How long would it take for him to have to deal with your beli3fs and your ' big ' sins as he has dealt with the other big sinners. -

Depends what you mean by tolerance? If you mean does he permit ignorance of the gospel, then yes God tolerates the ungodly, he sends rain and sunshine to all people without any qualifications, are they Christian or not. That said God's patience and long suffering of the ungodly is meant to lead them to repentance. He will one day judge every person and the key fact will be is Jesus there Lord and Saviour. -
Very simply, if he is working with say open doors in the near east, I can look at what they say abouit the near east, and see what they are asking for prayer in the different countries. There will be examples of people in those countries. I have been receiving prayer letters from different missionary organisations for years, including supporting a missionary to Algeria and I have never before encountered a missionary who would not say what organisation they work for.

Essentially to mock God is not to take him seriously, to live as if he did not exist.

A Question About Gods Omnipresence
Who me replied to Open7's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
No God was with you in your past, he is present with you now and will be with you tomorrow. God exists outside of time but we are creatures of time and can o ly experience it as time. We don't know how God perceives or experiences time. -
So every report by missionary organisations leads extremist to the homes of Christians in Islamic countries. That is what you are implying.

Every commentary I have read on passages like that talk about respect and awe. Being terrified of a being does not encourage understanding, but having respect does.
-
Read my request again. I have not asked for there name, country or address, just what organisation and region, like barnabus fund in the eastern russian regions.
-
As far as I am concerned there is no security risk in someone with a ' pen name' posting they work with open doors in the near east and they would value prayers, if we want more information see the open door website for the near east. That they are unwilling to do that makes me suspicious.
-
In that case why are you posting anything. Either you keep silent or you say what organisation you are working with and in what region.
-
Where does it say " Fear thr Lord. "? What version are you using? Try biblegateway and read that passage in modern English versions. What does your commentary on that book of the bible say about fearing g the Lord?
-
Please let us know which organisation you are working with? That way we can not only pray for you, for perscuted Christians but supply cash to help them.
-
May I suggest that you get either a good comentry on the books of the bible or that you start studing theology. That or you start using sites like Answers in Genesis. Yes a yec site, but they like all good Christians believe the bible is accurate and authoritive, they have many articles defending this, so use there search engine.

It is called a Theophany, an appearance of Jesus. Look at Iiaih 6:1 when he saw the lord high and mighty etc etc yet Jesus said in John 12:41 that he saw Jesus.
-
I am trying to say that just because some Christians are abisive does not prove there is no God.
-
Another example of trying to live in the 21 century using 16th centuary language. One of the old meanings of tempt = test. Suggestion, use biblegateway and read any passages you have querres on in a modern english translation. God didn't tempt Abraham, he tested him.
