  1. Doctors plural, you are not able to see the same doctor. According to the NHS on line the hints that indicate there are serious problems are:- bleeding from your bottom. Worsening stomach ache, heartburn or indigestion. Unexpected weight loss. Difficulty in swallowing. If any of this apply to back to your doctor. Otherwise try for at least two weeks a regular simple/plains diet. No fast food, junk food just lots of fruit, vegetables with a little simple cooked meat with no fancy or spiced sauces. Try the online weight watcher diet ideas.
  2. I find it interesting that none of the religious establishment expected Jesus. None of the ordinary people, taught by the religious establishment expected Jesus. There were a few who were listening, in strange places few well regarded who saw and welcomed Jesus. Look at he conflict between Jesus and the establishment over who he was, his authority, and finally his life. Many will be reading this and thinking " aha I/we are not part of the 'Church' we/I won't be caught by surprise because our ideas, expectations are traditional. " Sorry every one letting about the second coming post a traditional established church view. You are as blind as the Jewish leaders simple because you cannot see beyond your scheme, plan, schedule etc. Revelation, Daniel and the other prophetic passages all use picture language for example the thousand years in revelation does not automatically mean a literal thousand years, yet every millennial plan is based around a thousand years. There is only one fact. Jesus is coming again. When he does we will all be caught by surprise.
  3. Yes Luke 17 :3+4 the forgotten verses on forgiveness. Plus of course the whole of the Bible which teaches the same thing.
  4. Why do you pray for something that is unbiblical. God only forgave you when you repented. Have those who hurt you said sorry and meant it? If they haven't and you have pointed out to them there hurt to yourself, then you do not have to forgive them, all you need to do is like Jesus being crucified is pass it all over to God. Pass everything, the incident, there attitude, your hurt and feelings etc etc and ask God to deal with it all. Then you pray for them. Pray seriously and regularly or there benefit. It is often easier to be unbiblical and seek to forgive them.
  5. I said I have attended such churches hen that has been the only option. May I suggest you look at your attitude of discounting as lost those who in some cases are only badly taught or mislead. Just what sort of attitude is that, a caring or an uncaring attitude. If someone from one of these churches came into your church, would they be welcomed or made to feel very much second class because they came from xxxxx church?
  6. An irrelevant claim, we know Mary was not married when Jesus was crucified, if the option to Mary Clopas was there that option could have been made by Jesus. To claim she could is basically arguing from silence as there are no documentary records about that.
  7. Ah thought that would come out as two quotes! Space travel Mike's, if you are interested check out the site Atomic Rocket, it is aimed at sci-fi writers in the hope they might write scientific and engineering accurate prose. That aside it deals with the reality of space travel, starting with the maths, I ignore that and read around it. It still shows what the program you saw said it takes Mormons time to get anywhere in Interstellar space as well as enormous amounts of power, has enormous problems getting rid of the heat generated by engines and living things. As to who are we? That question is only answered when one find Jesus. Beyondet, the atomic rocket site is good for practically showing that there are no ETs. Further more mankind's only hope I again only found in Jesus
  8. That verse does not prove your first premise.
  9. God forgave us through the sacrifice of Jesus on and only on our repentance. Those who will not repent face God's wrath. So it follows if we are to forgive as God forgave us, there must be repentance.
  10. I don't know any details but would guess that you once did something that you cannot forgive yourself for or forget. Basically it is not your job to forgive yourself. You do not have that authority. Take what ever it is or was and your feelings about it to God and tell him All about it. Remember he knows what ou did, why you did it and your feelings during afterwards and now. He is looking for honesty on your part. As I John1:9 says he will forgive us and puryfie us from all Unrighteousness and that includes our bad memories, no he won't take them away but will give you peace of mind about the situation. May I suggest read in the NT about Paul what he did, what he endured and think as he was serving God up and down the Mediterranean there were still people he had put in prison who were locked away for being a Christian. How do you think he felt?
  11. Or what if after death there is a great family reunion in heaven. Is your mother. Christian? Are the other members of your family Christian? Rather than worry about what might happen, work towards what will happen. Attend a church that is involved in apologetics, learn them yourself, seek to live in as Christian amanner as you can. Make sure all cards you send to family members are sweet pretty things, but have robust biblical verses and explanations in them, even if you have to make them yourself. Be prepared to argue your corner. Questions like ' Why do you believe that? And What evidence do you have for that believe/statement?' should be second nature to any family discussion on belief, morality, God and religion. Just be sure you can answer those question. What should never be heard from you or at your church is " Just have faith/believe! "
  12. May I ask what you think makes one a Christian? Is it ' good ' living, not sinning or is it total dependence on Jesus? Second suggestion stop listening to those who claim Christians can live a life free of sin. They are deceiving you. We all constantly sin and need to return to Jesus for forgiveness. Every morning and every evening read your Bible and spend time in prayer. In between go to work, come home and spend time with your wife. On Sunday if your church is open for corporate worship attend it, otherwise watch the online service. Give your wife time, she needs to learn that not all Christians are horrible..
  13. The evidence is there in the Bible. You have not presented evidence that says it is not reliable.
  14. To know that you must have been a member at an aweful lot of apostate churches. Otherwise you are assuming that lost, confused, badly taught and lead people are not Christian. They are the very one's Jesus was compassionate for, as he saw they had no Shepard. Where else could a light shine brightest?
  15. Everyone ignores Luke 17:3+4. Forgiveness is only given when there is repentance. Only pharisees added more to the Bible then Christians do today. How does God forgive? Is it a blanket forgiveness with no need to say sorry. How did the Israelites obtain forgiveness for sins, didn't they have to pay there hand on the head of their sacrifice for sin, indicating both their repentance and the passing of guilt etc to the offering. We have to be willing to forgive and that does mean maintaining close fellowship with the brother who has offended you and pleaded for forgiveness 77 X 7 times, literally an unlimited number of times. Jesus being crucified, did not forgive, he prayed to he Father that he would forgive them, but it was all in God's hands and if they did not repent. Oh dear. That is also what we do if someone will not or cannot say sorry. We pass it all over to God for him to deal with our feelings as well as the offender.
  16. Sorry but it is all speculation, those who know never said that Peter was related to Mark. You are building a house of straw that is irrelevant o the gospel.
  17. I cannot see the relevance of this to Christianity.
  18. Yes for in Hebrews 11 we are told faith is being sure of what we hope for and Abraham is among that list of men o faith, despite his many lapses in faith. That should be an encouragement to those harassed by those who teach that Christians do not sin, get I'll, live in poverty, speak in tongues or what ever far is in vogue. Christians have to just keep trusting in Jesus.
  19. P.O.E.T.S. day is still along way off. Hopefully you know it. Push Off Early Tomorrow's Saturday !
  20. If the only church in a reasonable drive taught false doctrine and there was no other church I would seek to worship at that church and to talk to the minister afterwards, or to those in attendance. Sadly when on holiday this has been the only chose available and if nothing else has served to show what a church is not.
  21. Yes it is the God given grace and faith that aves us, but that salvation is shown in our lives by how we love Jesus and in how we love others. Paul placed a high premium on love of other Christians, on our encouraging others as well as being encouraged. Strangley he believed that the best way we could do this is by meeting together in groups he called churches. Yes there restriction on meeting together, we all hope that the virus that necessitates the current isolation will abate so a more normal life can resume.
  22. Good coffee, a cup of tea and the chance to tease my daughter.
  23. Your heavenly Father is not impressed by someone mumbling through prayers learnt by heart and not meant or understood. Jesus talking with the Samartan women told her a time was coming when no one would worshipp in temples or holy places, but would worshipp God in spirit and in truth. That time has been since Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit, so talk to your Father, tell him of your problems etc. May I suggest use the acronym A.C.T.S. where a = adoration C= confession T= Thanksgiving S= supplication.
  24. Who in your church that you regularly attend has assessed your fission?
  25. Yes we have a great high priest who knows our weaknesses, yet has covered them with the blood of his sacrifice. We have much o be grateful for our saviour and Lord.
